  1. Ismael mentioned it too. With some injured players returning a new excuse was needed.
  2. Why do all the other Championship owners cover losses? Championship clubs spend more than they bring in, its just how it is. Also, if you think that Venkys sacked Allardyce because of the fans then you are the one that needs to get real. But yes, people are just annoyed that Venkys dont turn up "enough" (one way of putting it) waving pom poms. Have some standards.
  3. He may well be tired and over burdened but he was never anything more than bang average. There was talk in the summer of him being rested and ready to score 15-20 goals which always seemed fanciful.
  4. How can anyone possibly have evidence of people who want to buy us? The owners wont put us up for sale and even if they did, we wouldn't be privy to such details. Why are you putting us down by suggesting that we couldnt find owners that at the very least would also pay the bills? 23 other Championship owners all pay the bills. Clubs at this level and below are bought. What makes us such an undesirable proposition and unique case? Paying the bills isnt this big plus you seem so keen to credit them for. Its the only way they would be able to keep the club. At every other club whose owners also cover the losses as its par for the course owning a Championship club. I bet you dont have fans crediting them for it in the absence of absolutely anything aside from that.
  5. It was an improvement in that we didnt get comfortably brushed aside. But it wasnt a good performance in general. It was drab.
  6. Doesnt buy him any time. Job is safe either way.
  7. It was improved on the embarassing 2 losses but thats a low bar. The standard of the performance today and the game as a whole was depressingly low.
  8. Feel like the narrative post game is that we were much better today. I thought we were crap again, so were they. The quality of the game in general was pretty embarassing at times. A group of sub par players looking particularly disjointed and again failing to win. The change of formation doesnt make sense. Recruitment clearly wasnt designed for a back 3, but we have seemingly focused on getting in most likely 2 strikers, no wingers, only to revert back, especially when our good wing back is getting fit again. Just screams of making it up as they go along. Ohashi is not good enough, thats pretty simple. Jorgensen offered nothing and looks slow, and Miroshita is better central and looks rusty, had no impact. Cantwell was crap. O'Riordan doesnt look up to it and I was amazed to see he got man of the match. Thought Cashin was much better which obviously the benchmark was low. But he was man of the match for me. Tronstad was also decent. Alebiosu had an impact when he came on.
  9. Dike will be on standard Championship wages so it wont be him.
  10. We have 2 left backs who clearly not play as wing backs. Ismael clearly doesnt want to use either there. We also have an absolute waste of space who again Ismael clearly doesnt want to use and one that he has called out for being a liability. We have spent weeks just sort of using 1, realising they arent capable of playing that position and then changing around. And he seems happy to just leave it.
  11. Thank god the rumour was false as that would have been yet another nail in the coffin. It does feel like a case of self preservation rushing everyone back. Ismael also mentioned "hopefully" having a striker by next week and a total of 8 bodies on top of what we had midweek. Surely we arent thick enough to not bother with a left wing back.
  12. It says a lot about how short the squad is and the shit that has gone on over 15 years. That a kid doing well for the under 18s not then instantly being chucked into the first team makes anyone suggest that it must be contractual. Any other club, no one asks that question. The next step would be to try and replicate in the under 21s regularly.
  13. We have signed a lot of crap from lesser leagues that you would think would be desperate to make a name for themselves. Baradji falls into the same category. More ability than the others but no sign of desperation to give his all and really show what hes about.
  14. Henriksson is right up there with the worst players that need to be binned. No one is going to want to sign these players though.
  15. There is no reason for the Sigurdsson treatment. The club at least before these dickheads bought us wouldnt have conducted ourselves in such a way. If we tell players that they likely wont be registered if they stay, and they choose to stay on their contracts as they are entitled to do. At least we have treated them properly.
  16. We definitely havent missed out on 6 points. For a start we have already got a point in one of the rearranged games, having again led 1 nil at the time of the abandonment.
  17. What do you mean "look yourself?" Obviously I cannot see the rumour anywhere hence why I made the reasonable request to know where the rumour had been seen. @RoversClitheroe please could you share from where you saw that Pickering could be going to Reading.
  18. Can we have some actual substance please, where are these rumours from? Link/screenshot?
  19. He isnt in the team to scare the opposition. He was our best player for me last night which is not saying much. He is very good at what he does and its a very specialist role. Problem is, there is a mess around him. It is pretty embarassing that we signed a new centre back and after 1 game are not playing him, considering how poor yesterdays back 3 was individually. Centre back like other positions is an area where you could write down enough names to suggest we have more than enough bodies yet quality wise its impossible to put together a competent defence. Forgetting how good or otherwise Cashin is, his profile made no sense. Our centre backs are poor in the air, so we sign a really short centre back. We badly needed someone who is right footed and who can go in the middle, Cashin doesnt tick any of those boxes. Atcheson clearly has talent but isnt ready to be playing at this level. O'Riordan looked out of his depth and when the pair are looking for a dominant partner, they get McLoughlin.
  20. The squad we have is crap, so any manager would somewhat have their work cut out. Towards the end, all of the last 3 managers made it clear that they werent getting what they wish in the transfer market. Players signed against their will, the players they wanted not being signed, an unwillingness to spend and an unwillingness to trade, whatever that is. However Ismael seems to regularly double down on his involvement in our shoddy recruitment, and actively seems to want these crap players.
  21. @ruggles1995 you say that Baradji tried but I dont think he did at all, again. He was signed after a very strange career, being relegated from the Swiss league having been in the lower leagues in Italy before that. A Championship move should be an absolutely massive opportunity for him. He clearly has more ability than most of our signings but he just strolls around, doesnt bother running back, regularly gives the ball away dawdling and just is symptomatic of how we have been run down. Hes is one of our more talented players, we have plucked him from obscurity and he cant even be arsed. Another symptom would be that McLoughlin has regularly worn the armband and often (not last night) played in the middle of a back 3. Absolute crap.
  22. Ive no idea why you keep focusing on his time at Barnsley as if he did anything other than an excellent job there. He finished 5th with Barnsley! A good job that has very much proved the exception in the career of a crap manager.
  23. What would it do? A journalist who is banned criticising the club wont make one jot of difference.
  24. The only reason it keeps coming back up is because people like you keep questioning me on it. I haven't said that Mercer has done anything wrong and indeed said fair play to him for knowing that someone had signed.
  25. Pathetic, pitiful display yet again. Tronstad was the only player for us that resembled a Championship standard player. Nice to see Jorgensen score but I didnt see the quick forward that was suggested. Very slow and very weak, constantly losing the ball. Baradji an absolute liability again, constantly losing the ball and not someone you want in the trenches with you, bone idle. Ohashi again nowhere near good enough. O'Riordan miles away from the standard. Gardner Hickman and McLoughlin again showed why they had become surplus to requirements at previous clubs. Powell with a nice assist but physically isnt ready to compete with Championship players. Doherty anonymous. Not fair to keep throwing all of these kids together.
