For a functional club, selling our only goalscorer for a profit on the back of selling an England quality talent and getting some other bits would help to fund a proper rebuild, whilst being able to keep a bit back to run the club. Here, we all know (well, nearly) that we are destined to go one way, relegation will follow this season, and it helps our terrible owners (still not all the focus is on them, even snakes enabling it like Waggott and Suhail arent the issue) to keep the lights on amidst their misdemeanours. Chaddy is an outlier who is doubling down on his superfan shite, thinking we are about to sign some good players and potentially improve. Including the goal machine signing of Lyndon Dykes. Eustace doesnt have the same willingness to speak up like Tomasson but even he seems worn out and pissed off. I wonder if he will quit.

We have consistently played and brought through youngsters in recent years. If anything, at times overly so due to the lack of competitive budget.

That side tonight shows exactly how weak we are. Thats our second string and 6 dont have a league minute between them. Markanday and Garrett are miles off it, Buckley has been poor for a good while, Hedges is prone to injury and O'Riordan again is an unknown quantity. And thats not factoring in the weaknesses of our expected first 11. Pears in net, Sigurdsson, Dolan and Gallagher trying to get the goals. I wonder if Sigurdsson isnt involved because he will play again ahead of Szmodics tomorrow.

Obviously our opinion doesnt count really. But just because Eustace wants it. And that assumes that he does, because its not as straightforward as that because hes clearly got no money to play with. That doesnt make it automatically the correct decision. He is too old, he cannot play in a back 4, he is so slow that we have to play really deep to cover his lack of pace (see Plymouth for how that can go wrong) and he he turns 38 this season. And what is key. This was surely an easy deal to do. So if we were so keen, at least sign him up before the end of pre season.

The thing with the Humphrys link is again, its registered interest, not even a confirmation of a contract offer. I dont think we should be going for him but if we want him, surely we are beyond the stage of pissing around. Cant be a hard one to get done as other interest wont be at this level and pre season will be over soon.

Better to have too much quality to be trimmed rather than not enough. He ha signed a number of players already. Hopefully they underachieve but hard not to see them as a big favourite without blue and white tinted glasses. -
Talk of how we wants to play seems very flawed based on pre season games where he needs to balance teams to give players minutes and none are his players. How can anyone possibly have concluded that he wants quick wide men and plenty of crosses at this stage based on his time here seems baseless. And our midfielders just happen to all be cloggers now Wharton has gone. He seems like a very pragmatic manager focused on clean sheets and isnt bothered about entertainment but again thats based on players that arent his. (Plus his Birmingham side)
