  1. The statue comment was from what I have seen from one poster being clearly sarcastic. Plan is a word that is alien to Venkys. We dont need statements, we need actions. They supposedly made a statement last summer and it turned out to be a load of bollocks.
  2. Not annoyed on behalf of Mowbray, although he does deserve better in that he has tried his best for over 5 years and he at least deserves a bit of clarity and transparency. It isn't a way to run a football club, as you mention they just don't care. They are the problem and always have been.
  3. I'm not sure about that, I don't rate Warburton, seems more like a sideways move to me. I suspect a QPR fan would presumably say the opposite, and a neutral would have them on par, at a guess.
  4. Again, more signs of the continuing shit show of a club that a Venkys owned Rovers represents, so sad. What is crazy is even recently, we have had numerous people defending them, some sucked in by made up plans, loads still think the club would die without them, the spotlight should be on them rather than the manager. Totally absent (their promised visit hasn't materialised) and totally disinterested, leaving a club that can never thrive under them. Anyone expecting an efficient look for a successor should Mowbray leave should think again. Regarding Mowbray, it will be a natural time for a change assuming we finish just outside the top 6. That in itself would be a good season but of course the second half collapse has been very poor. That said, some of the things that have been said about him in recent weeks and months have definitely over stepped the mark, comparisons to Kean and Coyle, calling him a dickhead etc, he would leave having done what I would say is a decent job, nothing less, and I certainly would hold no bad feeling towards him, people have even questioned his application and commitment which again is totally baseless, I feel like he has tried his best and has been a safe pair of hands but that only takes you so far. He has been here for 5 and a half seasons and radio silence from India is not what he deserves.
  5. Often a lot of unnecessary focus on the referee. More of a worry is that 3 of Monday's team are carrying injuries, Gallagher, Hedges and Rothwell. Those in reserve would be inferior replacements. Dolan is usually ineffective, Poveda hasn't started a game for 6 months, Dack presumably won't be fit to start, Edun has been poor and Johnson is past it.
  6. Why? Swapping him for Mowbray would be like for like.
  7. He certainly is overrated by one or two, he (like basically all of all our players) isn't one of the very, very best at this level and talk of giving a player like him a send off perhaps shows how far we have fallen under Venkys! But he almost certainly will not be replaced with someone of equal quality, and he is our best full back, he certainly doesn't have the defensive deficiencies that Pickering has on the other side. Lenihan (even if he stayed, which he wont) certainly isn't the answer at right back over a period of time, technically very lacking so he wouldn't offer an attacking threat either. Of course the selection to have him at right back the other night was a very good one by the manager.
  8. Why are people picking apart choices on the bench? The team selection was bang on yesterday just as it has been very much open to criticism when we have been losing. It doesnt matter which right back who wont be here next season remained as an unused sub. Had Zeefuik come on and made a mistake or took part in a negative result then fair enough.
  9. Youve been very keen to make out that you knew things ahead of the curve but you had Bradley Johnson and James Brown starting!
  10. Thank you both, much appreciated. I think the Observatory/Anchor bus is full but I will try some of the others, unsure whether to even get the train.
  11. Does anyone know any coaches going from Blackburn/Darwen with spaces free for the Birmingham game?
  12. I am amazed that you continue to take every little rumour on here as the gospel truth. Mowbray will be at West Brom next season and Venus is trying to persuade Rothwell, Lenihan and Nyambe to join him?!
  13. Brilliant night last night, battered Preston and a fully deserved win to be enjoyed, Excellent from just about everyone and the manager got his tactics bang on.
  14. A lack of perspective indeed, comparisons to Kean (and even Coyle) are laughable. Also, "massive financial support?" They using share capital offset the losses made as do many Championship clubs in a division whereby it is very common to be making a loss year on year. That in my opinion is not "massive financial support" as that would imply that they are putting in additional money for the betterment of the club on the pitch, which they seldom do. Couldn't care less how Mowbray carries himself on the touchline tonight either. If we win, I will be happy, otherwise, I will be annoyed and that responsibility to get a result falls under the managers responsibilities.
  15. Is that based on that tweet after he was a false 9 which seemed pretty tongue in cheek to me or based on something else?
  16. Even if any of those players were given the opportunity in the media to talk, they would not criticise the manager. It's not what happens. That last sentence seems like a bit of an unlikely conspiracy too, maybe stubborn is a fair description in general but to suggest that he is arrogant enough to purposely shelf a promotion push that would massively benefit his personal career either way out of spite is again crazy talk. In public, it would be like the rest of the players, the usual soundbites and based on Kaminski, the usual anger on here. Players would never slag off their manager in public. Sadly things don't tend to follow logic under these owners, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he got a new deal. If that is the case, and it seems a very generalised statement to imply such a specific drop off. In an ideal world, it would also allow a new manager to come in and potentially jettison those not putting in the required effort.
  17. So you have lost all sense of perspective. The underlying reason that you hate Mowbray is because of the results for Rovers, so I don't get how you can possibly hate Mowbray more than wanting Rovers to win. There are very few "mogga apologists" left, I think the vast, vast majority want him out and even in the ground, I have sensed a turn.
  18. If he had said that he won't be attending because of the manager, I've said before that I certainly wouldn't get on my high horse about that, that is something I would respect. and appreciate. He didn't say that. It irks me when anyone comes onto what is a Rovers messageboard and going into a game at Preston, is calling for a spanking. To me that is a provocative post. Ultimately Mowbray's future if it is performance driven will be elsewhere assuming we don't somehow sneak into the play offs, in which case tonight's result either has a 0.001% chance of helping to achieve a play off place which would signal success, but realistically it will be an irrelevance in which case it shouldn't make a difference. Venkys wont even realise we have a game tonight.
  19. What do you expect him to say, "I want Mowbray sacked" and "us players don't believe in what the manager does?" If he came out in the media and said stuff like that, it would genuinely reflect bad on him and the players to be honest. Why people allow themselves to get so wound up by token media soundbites is beyond me. Then you seemingly have lost all perspective.
  20. Utterly bizarre. For a start, there is zero suggestion that a bad result would in any way change Mowbray's future, but I just don't get why anyone would come onto a thread like this and say that they "hope we get spanked tonight," and that isn't me trying in anyway to play the super fan card or anything like that.
  21. But it wouldn't have been down to Venkys assuming that any proceeds were available for reinvestment. The owners shouldn't be making those decisions, we can speculate over what happens at other clubs and I don't really care but I do care that we know it happened here and it was piss poor on behalf of Venkys. Loans and frees are obviously the cheapest way of signing players, again we don't know if any loan fee is paid and how much wage contribution is made by us, this season Mowbray said he didn't want loans and that we had to wait until the end of the window because we had to sell the parent clubs a vision of how we would use them as if it was based on finance we wouldn't be given the players. Filling the squad with loans isn't some sort of costly luxury.
  22. And you are like Venkys spokesperson defending their honour, assuming even when they stop spending that it is only regulations preventing them for some reason. We have nothing to be thankful for to Venkys. You say it was a no win situation for Venkys, it was not a situation that fell under their remit. Had they given the manager autonomy to choose what he did, then it would be him who is judged based on the success or failure of any replacements. I want Mowbray sacked just like you, but when something illogical is done which includes owners overruling a manager in place to make footballing decisions, then surely the criticism goes towards the owners for doing that rather than the manager for mentioning that to the press.
  23. The problem is owner interference, what is said afterwards is not important in comparison.
  24. I have a feeling that he will go to India and come back with a new deal due to our negligent owners.
