  1. He's not going to say that he's been shit in training is he. He looked out of his depth for 2 years, thats why he didnt warrant more game time.
  2. Lets not recreate history and make out that Brereton was underused and messed about in those first 2 years, when he played he was miles off it, he couldn't use his body at all and he wasn't ready to play more. After some time out of the team he seemingly bulked up and started to resemble the player we see today.
  3. I don't see why Brereton won't start with a week in between games. Rich Sharpe tweeted the other day that Dack said at the weekend that he could only do 45 minutes, so unfortunately I can see him only being a sub,
  4. Maybe "as gospel" is not quite right but most have continued it as a genuine conversation beyond a purely hypothetical one, tried to guess the club, mentioned the potential ramifications on how Mowbray's personality would be judged etc.
  5. It shows the desperation to see the back of Mowbray that someone with a terrible track record can come on, claim that not only has our manager already agreed a new deal with another Championship club for next season but hes also (illegally) pre-arranged contracts for all 3 out of contract players on quadruple their current wage, hes purposely limiting Dacks involvement ahead of a potential sale rather than because hes just come back from 2 years out and hes still going to go to India in the summer anyway and its taken as gospel!
  6. Are you going to put any meat on the bones or leave it cryptic? Where is this from, what is the club, are all 3 players going to the same club? I can't see this at all. And no way does he go to India for a "thanks for everything" meeting when he could be getting things in order at this mystery new club.
  7. It probably makes little sense to have Mowbray involved in recruitment should he leave, but lets not pretend that his transfer record is just an accumulation of rubbish as you imply. Could I have an answer please regarding my question on whether anything has happened since the excitement from earlier this season regarding Venkys plans?
  8. After all these years, do you genuinely forsee a smooth summer whereby the managerial situation will be dealt with and recruitment will be ongoing throughout without massive delays and confusion?
  9. FFP is just assumed to be the main reason, for some reason many Rovers fans have seen how Venkys have behaved in the last 11 years and have concluded that only FFP regulations are stopping them from investing more.
  10. Plenty of money? He got 500k of an 8 figure fee generated from one of his signings this season. Wasted a lot of it? Main 3 signings cost 15m. One was sold for not far off that and a second will be sold this summer for even more. Cant blame them? If he is so shit, surely they should act rationally and sack him. This bizarre justification that Venkys are entitled not to give the manager money thinking that hes wasted it previously, as if thats a thing. If you dont trust the manager to spend money, then surely again you sack him? You dont withhold spending money on the team.
  11. But there are times when he isnt selected, including 3 games ago and for much of our late 2021 run. It seems a more logical explanation that we dont have an infinite number of attacking players, especially with unavailability issues, and that Mowbray has an inflated worth of how good Gallagher actually is, so he plays quite often. Not that he picks him nearly 3 years in to justify a fee paid in 2019.
  12. Is it that simple and that cynical? We arent awash with attacking players, plus Mowbray seems to rate him more than anyone else, I think thats why hes selected so much. He wasnt selected at home to Derby even with a lack of alternatives. Brereton didnt always play for 2 years despite his price tag and Gallagher was only a sub a number of times earlier this season.
  13. Has Gav said that he wants Mowbray in charge next season or that he is the best man to get us promotion? If so, fair enough I totally disagree and think thats crazy. But if not, why is it assumed that if anyone questions the at times personal, hyperbolic nonsense about the manager, that it equates to thinking that hes a really good manager.
  14. Just watching Sky Sports today, is the host called Dave Jones? His presenting has been shocking, David Ginola has been on and he has at times made some very valid points, for example saying that Newcastle need their own identity. Jones just laughed, compared it to the entertainers and dismissed "ripping up the whole team" to the point that Ginola looked like he wanted to hit him. Not conducive to good debate. Defoe offers nothing as a pundit either.
  15. Utter rubbish. I can honestly say that I dont have a strong personal opinion of Lampard either way. I just think quite justifiably that his managerial CV is below average, that the signing of Ali has been crap, that Everton have got worse since his appointment and that he wouldnt have got the job had he not enjoyed the playing career that he did.
  16. No point fascinating at this stage as to how the squad will look next season, so many ifs, buts and maybes. Assuming we stay down, what will actually happen is there will be a massive gap before any decisions are made, Venkys will demand a flight to India, half the summer will go in the process, all of our rivals will steal a march. The manager will probably get a new deal, everything revolves around a Brereton sale, and most likely, none of the proceeds will be made available as was the case with Armstrong. Everything has been made harder with none of the Armstrong money reinvested and with a potential sale of Rothwell and 2 new assets brought in blocked in January. It's nothing to be excited about.
  17. I have no idea who Vitor Pereira is. I also don't have a list of potential managerial appointments. All I know is that Lampard wouldn't have got that job if he didn't have his playing reputation, the two jobs he has previously done are average to be generous. He has done a shit job so far and they seem to have got worse under him. Yes, he made a big fuss about signing Ali and never plays him. Shocking signing. Also, you talk about egos, he added another big one who seemingly is not considered for selection.
  18. Them 3 do seem destined for the drop but then again, Everton are trying theor best to go down. Frank Lampard is the "perfect fit," do you still stand by that nonsense?! And what is the Dele Alli signing about?
  19. Can I have an exact quote that in context is Mowbray saying that he doesnt care about being Rovers manager? He didnt look at the end of the game like someone who didnt care. Its bollocks.
  20. Whoever sorted it at half time - still unable to give the manager credit when he does something correctly.
  21. Would there? I think you overstate how much the general media would care.
  22. I dont get how literal you are being. There are 6 games to go, i would consider a top 6 place to be very much unlikely. Are you just not watching anymore this season? Would that change if we did make the play offs? Firstly, this idea that Mowbray doesnt care is quite frankly a load of bollocks. Mowbray was fuming blaming the referee (not justifiably necessarily) while the players had initially turned the game round and looked devastated at full time. Its not something that people need to make up either considering the various constructive technical criticisms that can go his way. You speak as if its in the Kean days where we were full of big name egos that didnt care, its not like that. We are full of young players many of whom arent anything special by any means, and a group that doesnt seem to be able to handle the mental strain of a promotion push, they look overawed. This idea that he has sole responsibility for the potential squad he will leave is flawed too. We will always have gaps left every year with departing loans because finances dictate that we have to heavily utilise that market. Mowbray raised an 8 figure profit last summer on one of his signings and received nothing to reinvest. He also had a sale of an out of contracter lined up with 2 potential assets coming in blocked by the owners, so like any Rovers manager, he has his hands tied somewhat. Again I would state that on the almost certain assumption that we dont make the play offs, we need to change the mamager. The last 3 months have been shocking and there are things even today I look at and shake my head. But does he give a shit? Yes. Is there a need to manipulate every word he says? No. Is he the second coming of the devil? No. Is he the worst pound for pound manager in 50 years? No. Is he on par with Coyle and Kean? No. Some of the shite on here in recent weeks has been laughable.
  23. Injury time was littered with our players lying down claiming to be injured and also with a pitch invader. Soon into injury time the time remaining was very difficult to keep up with.
  24. How bad is Jadon Sancho? 80/90m for a winger who is slow, out of shape, cant beat a man, cant shoot, cant cross and cant dribble.
