  1. He keeps spilling shots in front of goal and 3 in 2 games have led to rebounds being put in.
  2. You seem very keen to berate the fans today. Wahlstedt made 2 errors that cost us 3 points. Thus on an internet messageboard that he wont see, he is getting criticised for that. No one has said that he did it on purpose. It has no effect on him. But he did fuck up twice and it cost us the points. Sometimes Leonard is totally anonymous, hes a young lad who has played more than he should this season at this level due to a lack of money. If saying that on here is beating the players down and it questions the status of their support, then I suspect you have the thinnest of skin and/or zero counter argument in regards to their performance.
  3. What a terrible attitude. You would get along with Waggott and the owners. Get a grip? He cost us both goals, surely that warrants criticism. And people are slagging the bench not at the fault of the kids on there but because its not fit for purpose hence why Tomasson never brings most of them on. They are making up the numbers.
  4. Same old story. Not acceptable to be lose a game you are winning with 10 to go but its predictable. Even when we are 2 or 3 up we struggle. Pitifully small squad due to the owners and no experience allowed. Wahlstedt has cost us 3 in 2 by spilling shots straight in front of goal. Not good enough. The second was after a weak punch, a goal from one of those was in the post because he regularly flaps at catchable crosses. Wharton was a class above anyone on the pitch. Ennis is miles off it.
  5. But come the summer, if he does well between now and then, we then likely have to sell just to get any money for him.
  6. I dont get why its so short. We go into the summer and hes in the last year of his deal.
  7. Hes never played there before, and the type of player is (left footed, likes to start wide cut in) suits the modern winger role. Ultimately either way, his biggest issue is a lack of ability.
  8. There has never been any suggestion that either the club nor he has seen him as a number 10. He is a typical modern day wide man, likes to cut in. Hes just not very good.
  9. He has never from memory played through the middle.
  10. I hope not but I think he will play Garrett instead, which is a monumental downgrade. Id either stick Travis next to Wharton ahead of Tronstad but neither are naturals when expected to go further forward. The alternative is trying to get Moran in his natural position but the only option out wide would be Markanday. There is also another unnamed doubt. I wonder if its a centre back with Hyam getting minutes.
  11. There was a clear opportunity at 2 down with 10 men at Southampton to take him off, as well as in recent home games where Tomasson has chose not to so I do wonder if this could have been managed better. Cant see us offering much threat in his absence.
  12. The problem with the perception to these offers is always people not appreciating that a doubling/tripling or whatever it turns out to be of walk ons is a great success, taking it out of context. We know the type, "still nowhere near full," "people just like to slag off the club" or "what more can the club do with fans like this." The ground wont be full but it will be a much bigger crowd and crucially once you take away the season ticket sales which obviously provide a low base, a considerable increase in walk ons are what matters. So the numbers seem very healthy if people see it in context and dont have unrealistic expectations. It could also lead to further sales beyond this game and should also create additional indirect sales of merchandise etc.
  13. Even forgetting the financial side, surely just watching Rovers play against the best in the world is a bigger buzz than watching us play against crap. It can be done, the whole system does need looking at but this seasons sides are particularly bad. Sheffield United are not your typical promoted side, they had off the field issues leading to them being weaker than last season, they had to sell Ndiaye and Berge. Burnley have just wasted their money, Forest spent much more wisely last season, and Luton are not equipped as a club for it. Its harder but it can be done. Defeats the purpose of wanting promotion if you dont want the reward. It would be underwhelming if the likes of Everton and West Ham became the giants of the domestic game, and ultimately things are relative so they would become stronger in the absence of the bigger sides.
  14. English football wouldnt be as good without the big hitters in my opinion if it does escalate to that. I have never been able to get my head around this concept where you @J*B would not welcome being in the Premier League from a footballing perspective. I want Rovers to be playing the best teams they can possibly face.
  15. It wouldnt happen for a number of reasons, mainly that we dont have any money. But obviously we would welcome an attacker who scored 37 goals across his last 2 seasons to a side that is lacking quality and quantity across the front line.
  16. That explains the interest in O'Riordan that you dont believe?
  17. I dont think Carter has been impressive all season by any means, and certainly not warranting Premier League interest. I do like him and he is a good defender but I think as a team we havent been great defensively and he hasnt necessarily kicked or improved from last season. Even across the last week, he gave away a penalty clumsily v Southampton and made a huge error v Leeds. He hasnt had a poor season but he did have a poor patch earlier in the season and I think his performances last season were better. Perhaps he was more suited to a less expansive style as he can be quite clumsy, we could do with Hyam back as he is our calmest defender.
  18. That was costly naivety similar to Hedges last year, albeit the latter wasnt a youngster at the time. But in a season that Gallagher won us a few points with goals and with Venkys deciding to couple a horrendous (and cheap) appointment of Owen Coyle with the decision to get rid of any player with value in that squad and replace with cheap crap, to blame Gallagher for that relegation is very misplaced.
  19. I would go with the strongest team off the back of a full week and then take it game by game. Sadly, there is little scope for any rotation due to basically all of our subs being a huge downgrade. Wahlstedt Hill Carter Hyam Pickering Tronstad Wharton Moran Szmodics Sigurdsson Ennis Then for the Huddersfield game, you are struggling to rotate really. Travis is the obvious one, but in our strongest position where playing him without a change of shape means dropping one of our best 2 players. Leonard for Ennis who can barely do 2 games in a year, never mind in 4 days. Scott Wharton and Brittain having stewed on his own idiocy for a few days, but youd want to keep the same shape, hopefully the Brittain as a winger experiment has been ditched, and defence isnt the main position youd want to rotate. Slim pickings.
  20. Bizarre appointment, they would have been better off with Mowbray. All appointments are made with the same quotes, playing identity, progressive football etc.
  21. Or more likely, we will have the additional cost of his wage for half a season extra.
  22. Nixon's rubbish isn't evidence of anything to be fair, but for a reasonable fee it makes it a non starter. Needless to say a young CB couldn't be much less of a priority for us. With Gallagher, a functional club may well decide to get rid and utilise the resources saved. Here, it will just leave to more budget slashing. Gallagher is an average striker at this level when fit, has his uses, good for 8 or 9 a season, powerful runner. Compared to the alternatives, ie a raw kid not ready for regular game time at this level, a League 1 sicknote and a 4th division German player, he is still our best striker, so if those resources are just considered a saving, the owners save money, Rovers are worse off. Was ever thus.
  23. Tells you quite a lot when a goalkeeper is at fault for the first and spills a shot leading to the 4th and yet still gets man of the match.
  24. "Huge club." They would have been better off keeping Mowbray who had done a good job there and had a look at their data driven recruitment team plucking sub par random youngsters from random places whilst getting rid of experienced heads.
  25. No one is going to sign Dolan who has never fully kicked on and who will be injured until at least February. If there is genuine desire on both sides to get him signed up long term then surely his current absence is the best time to do it.
