  1. It's got fuk all to do with him being Asian he was followed from a house under surveillance and he was challenged by people shouting armed police and he ran off into a tube station. Now putting 2 + 2 together you may well get 5 but it's hardly surprising in the circumstances is it. Sadly this bloke is another victim of this supposed war but I don't see how else the police deal with this. Rather than being childish and chucking around insults how do you propose the police handle it?
  2. The bloke shot dead yesterday in London was not connected to the bombings Police have now said. Obviously it's sad but to me if you run from the Police then you run the risk of being shot. Don't run and you won't get shot, simple as that really. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  3. True but by over-appealing for ones that were never out I would think it would annoy the umpires and work against you. Still when you can bowl like that it doesn't matter. I just thought that over-appealing was now frowned upon and as Ponting is on a crusade to clean up the game maybe they would cut it out.
  4. 1-0 down now
  5. Half time and it's 0-0, no more details at present. cheers just nicked this off the official site :- Rovers Line up: Friedel, Neill, Todd, Nelsen, Taylor, Emerton, Reid, Moekena, Pedersen, Kuqi, Bellamy
  6. I agree others did drop them but the wicket keeper can't afford to drop them for me. We are still in this game of that there is no doubt however it will be tough. The openers have done great but to think they have seen off McGrath & Lee only for Warne to come on must be gutting. Incidentally are they appealing off every ball because they think they must get one eventually.
  7. The wicket is playing easier now but I think we are chasing about 100 runs too many to be honest. Dropped catches is just not good enough especially from a wicketkeeper. Jones is in danger of becoming a bit of a chocolate teapot at the moment.
  8. Well considering this is a thread about Souness then you'd be struggling to find any players we're linked with on here. Try the incoming players thread. Some lad on there called Bellamy I think we've got off some tinpot 'massive' club who are the biggest club in the world yet have never won a thing that wasn't filmed in black & white.
  9. Make sure you text with the score. cheers
  10. Spot on, i'm amazed to see people chucking the towel in already. I think it's fairly poised and certainly close. If we can get near the Aussie total then game on, if we get skittled quickly then it will probably be over. It's a bit of a worry the form of our top order but i'm sure some of the Aussie's are having similar worries. Could have screamed at Giles for getting out final ball though.
  11. Just giving as good as they get really and standing up to the comments by McGrath amongst others. They have said they will refuse to be bullied so are just following that through. Great article here from yesterday's Times so apologies if the Aussies can't read it but I though it summed it up for me. Even the Aussie at work couldn't disagree with it.
  12. Hmmm, maybe because he has experience of playing for a country that he wasn't born in. If you can only resort to the i'm with stupid smileys then i'd leave the banter to the adults.
  13. I'm not sure, ask Symonds, he'll probably know.
  14. Look nodrog either take on board the many, many posts from different people who find you both insulting and offensive, or don't. It's as simple as that really. However please can we be spared the incessant bleating, and this pathetic mock attitude that you are somehow offended. It really doesn't suit you.
  15. According to the official site it will be £8.
  16. Don't disagree with that Toogs. I think that Vaughan struggles to justify a place in the One Day side. However at test level I think he has proved his quality and I certainly don't think his position should be in any doubt.
  17. Practically everything you post is odious Theno, apart from the football stuff that is. I don't know how you get that Frankie Howerd style of mock hurt down to such a tee but it really doesn't suit.
  18. Let's not get carried away here, we have been pretty poor in the one day game for a while now and it will take time to improve that. However to suggest Vaughan's position should be reviewed is just nonsense. Anyone who has followed England over the last 4 or 5 years will see that this current side is unrecognisable from the previous one. Whilst his form is not spot on his contribution to that change cannot be underestimated. We are currently 2nd in the rankings for test matches. We were just above Zimbabwe when Vaughan took over, don't forget that.
  19. Cheers for that Lee. I was very dubious of these reports of a 40% drop purely because I doubt John Williams would state we were more or less the same as last year if that was not true. Like you say hopefully the Bellamy and subsequent feel good should push things a bit more.
  20. Does anyone know any ticket details for the Morecambe game. I presume it will be pay on the day seeing as the club haven't announced anything. It is only a week away.
  21. Spot on that Eddie. The point is that the way these fanatics work is they require support and volunteers. Sadly there will be plenty of that available in this country. There are two ways we can deal with that. If we use the sledgehammer approach that some propose then we do the recruitment for them. Just the same was we did for the IRA for many years. My opinion is not born from some kind of tree-hugging happy clappy view far from it. If I honestly believed that targeting whole communites would work i'd be all for it even if it did upset a few. However evidence has proved that it has the opposite effect. Look at Israel, the Basque region, and Northern Ireland. The temptation is immense to want react strongly and with force. It is therefore all the more important that we react properly and do things right. One final point on people who say now they won't travel on the tube or go to London etc. That is exactly what these barstards want. Words like 'the blitz spirit' yet to readily bandied about but on occasions like this it is exactly what we have to do. You can't live in fear or we are just giving in and the unfortunate ones have died in vain. Sorry to be a bit deep but we have to be defiant and show these people that our way of life is the best and that we won't be beaten or frightened.
  22. Yes but the point is that if a terrorist was in Iraq of english origin he would be trying to blend in not stand out a mile. By picking out people who you think look a likely candidate you just inflame the situation and in the end make things worse. If it was as simple as stopping every person who looked likely then they would have my backing but it just isn;t that simple.
  23. Theno I refuse to get drawn into a slanging match on this thread. The Blunderer made the point quite clear that do you really think these terrorists will be dressed in full muslim gear. The police have a difficult job but they have to ensure they don't make the situation worse. This is not political correctness, it is just common sense.
  24. Even on a thread like this, even after the pleas from others, you still can't help it can you Theno?
  25. Spot on that Den. I can understand that people will have feelings about him as a person, however as a player his quality is not in doubt. Foe every fan who will be disappointed there will be 100 more that will be delighted. The feel-good factor should be through the roof.
