  1. Thought we did ok but couldn't keep the ball all night. When is Australia Day? I'm guessing it was last night as that can be the only excuse for how poor Neill & Emerton were, both atrocious. Nelsen & Todd solid, Mokoena tidy & Savage worked hard. Thompson tried to do the difficult thing every time and failed, was very annoyed at coming off but maybe should do more on the pitch. Biggest annoyance for me was Mourinho refusing to shake hands with Hughes after the match. You can't buy class.
  2. Definitely announced it as the 'last' two away games. Why that I don't know. If anything it should be any two or more even but why pick the last two. Unless as some have said the announcer was wrong but he definiteley announced that.
  3. He didn't book him for that though but he was winding up Pires and Poll had a word, to me he brought himself to the refs attention. Ref's don't like it as it makes their jobs harder. Silly thing is he had been excellent up to then and had no need to get involved.
  4. Agree on the brilliant but he just got involved once to often. If he had stayed out of the Pires thing he wouldn't have been booked after. IMO he is incredibly lucky now to be on the pitch. I've slated Poll at times but he has been good recently and again tonight, did really well to ignore Rooney effing and jeffing at him. That's the thing with Rooney great player but a pea for a brain.
  5. Sense has nothing to do with it, you started the cheap digs so have no room to complain on that score.
  6. Nail hit firmly on the head for me. Hopefully we can look forward to the cup game and put this nonsense behind us. He's gone we've lost some money and a good player. We need to regroup and judging from Hughes' comments that won't be a problem. But then again am I naive to believe anything he says?
  7. Some people have lives!
  8. I voted no based on the information available to me last night. Based on what JW has said today then clearly the club did the best they could. Maybe I'm being naive but I genuinely didn't think he would refuse to play.
  9. You are sounding more like one of the more intellectually challenged members of this board all the time on this topic. Don't give a toss MB. I can't stand the tosser now and just want him to leave. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to agree. He could go the training ground and shoot all the other players and you wouldn't agree. If we get £6m i'll be disappointed but i'll be happy for the club to accept. I will not accept silly, childish knee-jerk reactions to the detriment of the club. Which bit is hard to understand. When will you get it into your thick head that he's not worth that much and that if we don't sell him now we'll be left with an unhappy, unprofessional player. Anyway, there's no point arguing with you - you can't be remotely objective about anything. He'll be gone by midnight anyway. Thick Head? If he's not worth remotely near £5m why have Rangers already offered near that according to Dado and are still talking about it now. Objective you should look up what it means in the dictionary, by the way it doesn't say Scott is always right.

  12. There in lies the problem once again though. As much as football clubs have to run themselves like a business the sport itself is not one. Crikey if it was it would have gone bust long since. You just can't draw parallels. In any business most of the behaviour of players would not be tolerated and they would be sacked. In many other businesses if you feel the product is not up to scratch you get your money back, in football it's almost expected that you will be let down.
  13. It is on at 13.30GMT and is broadcast live on BBC radio 5 live.
  14. You raise fair points Paul. I usually stay out of these debates because they have been done to death, however you say Theno doesn't answer some of your points so can you answer a question of mine. Why do all these factors you list seem to affect us so much more than other clubs. Blackburn is not smaller than it was 5 years ago is it? How come Derby, Notts Forest, Charlton, West Brom & Reading all managed bigger crowds, some miles bigger. West Ham were gutted to only attract 19,000, jesus what the board would give for that at present. I have not the time nor the inclination to check all the prices but I would bet that you couldn't get in for much less than £15. You can call the club all you want but for the last 3 years whatever they charge and whatever they do the people of Blackburn and surrounding areas (I use this area to stop the seemingly mandatory dozen posts from Oz etc stating why it's difficult to travel around the world) don't seem to respond. It's the same 8-10,000 who go regardless so the club might as well give up. Obviously attendances will rise and fall with success but we seem to be one of the only clubs that feels the club owes them entertainment. If you want value for money go to the cinema. You might not like the phrase 'use it or lose it' but you don't seem to understand how accurate it is.
  15. are rangers just offering £4 million and expecting the £2.5 milion to be paid back ? are they mad !!! Well I would have thought so seeing as the club put a £6m price tag on him, if Rangers had offered £4m plus the outstanding then it would be £6.5m and thanks very much.
  16. Excellent post Tashor and summed up perfectly.
  17. That is the whole point though, you will believe what you want, i'll believe what I want etc etc. It makes no difference at all as we could both be wrong, we simply don't know. What we do know is that the club will not sell on the cheap, which is a good thing. You think we are now left with an unhappy player I think we are left with a very good player. Whether or not you respect him is irrelevant, respect doesn't win you football macthes, good payers do.
  18. He's handed in a transfer request. What other info do you need? A simple no would have sufficed. Eh? Can you explain how Ferguson handing in a transfer request means he wants to play for us? Ok then, question for you. You get a job but it's a bit away from home but you don't mind as the money is good. You work at said job and you enjoy it. However personal circumstances dictate that you are not as happy at home so you request a transfer back home. You get refused unless certain conditions are met. Do you refuse to do your job properly even though you enjoy the job or do you get on with it? The facts as we know it are Ferguson has requested to go back to Rangers, he has not said he is unhappy with Blackburn Rovers, that is what we have been told by the club. If you know different then fair enough.
  19. He's handed in a transfer request. What other info do you need? A simple no would have sufficed.
  20. I think people are massively over-estimating the difference Ferguson would have made to that performance against Bolton. True, we'd have been better off with him in there, but there was a lot more wrong than just us missing Ferguson. As for hoping Barry acts like a professional now, he's hardly acted professionally so far has he? First of all he gets his agent to engineer a move to Rangers behind Rovers back, and then he hands in a transfer request when Rovers decide not to play ball. All this by the club captain halfway through a relegation scrap. Are these the acts of a professional? Are they f***. Does anyone (apart from Philipl obviously) seriously believe we'll get more than £4m for him at any time in the future? Lets hope Nuclearsox is right and Rangers come in with a final, final bid. Yes I believe we will get at least £5m for him either this week or at the end of the season. However I hope we don't because that will mean he is staying. The club have said all along they won't be sold short and they have stuck to that. You may think it's a bad situation but a far worse one would have been our best player leaving for £3m with no time to replace him. Maybe Monday wasn't all down to him missing but Thompson showed just what he is like in the centre. Finally can you just clear up what extra info you have. You have slated him constantly saying you don't want a player who 'doesn't want to play for the club'. Hughes & Williams both stated that Ferguson is happy at the club but due to personal reasons he wants to go back to Rangers no other club just them. Do you know of other info that backs up your view that he just doesn't want to play for us?
  21. What has made it worse for me is seeing people come out and say well it goes on so you just have to accept it. No you don't have to accept it, ban him. The only good thing that may come from this is that filth will hopefully not get another free kick as long as he plays. As for his manager, sums up everything about him in that game, anyone that can ever defend that scumbag cannot like the game of football. Nolan is a coward, Diouf is filth and the manager is worse than any of them.
  22. End result of that is an unhappy player who could be helping the team but instead becomes more unahppy. As a consequence his value drops and we have little chance of getting a decent figure. By playing him we either get some good performances out of him and he decides to stay or we get good performances and Rangers decide to stump up the required fee. Sticking him in the reserves or training with the kids is cutting your nose off to spite your face.
  23. That was a bit more original and amusing when they sang it to Phillip Albert. The Ameobi one is not bad though.
  24. Didn't see anything when I read it. There is an interview tomorrow with Andy Cole which should make interesting reading. On Souness he says 'He tried to dominate me, and I can't be dominated by someone I don't like'.
  25. One of the City fans at work was laughing about that today. He said if Newcastle offer £7m for Distin, he'll drive him up their personally.
