Absolutely spot on. He’s taken every opportunity to tell us how hard Venky’s have been hit by Covid, how they “aren’t immune” and how wonderful they are for using the government furlough scheme and not just outright binning off staff. This is a man who claims one of his key skills and traits is being empathetic. A price hike for a club in an already economically deprived area, that has been hit harder by Covid than anywhere else in the country shows he is deluded. This offering is so poor, he may as well have just launched a go fund me page. His thinly veiled emotional blackmail and divisive tactics would be more suited to this.

I can see very little incentive for any households with more than one season ticket holder to buy.

Newcastle United away in the League Cup

I’ll be amazed if Bennett doesn’t start. -
At no stage during Venky’s ownership has our defence been solid. Runs deeper than the manager.

We’re going to ship loads of goals as long as that is our defence. It’s not just Bell either. Lenihan needs someone better than him alongside him, ideally someone who can communicate and organise. I’d be worried about a bid coming in for Nyambe. He’s looking better all the time, we’ve let his contract run down, and I just have the feeling we would accept peanuts for him. Midfield lacked a bit of mobility, didn’t offer enough protection to the fragile back 4. I’d loan out Brereton and bring in a physical centre forward. No confidence in him bettering his one a season record. Despite all that we deserved a point out of that game. Rothwell and Dolan both had a big impact. Maybe coming off the bench is the best way to use them for now. Like the look of Kaminski, assured is the word. Frustrating as it’s fine margins... couple or three shrewd signings and we could do something.

He went to school at St Wilfreds. Definitely lived (May still do) in Blackburn. Played in United Youth teams from a very young age.

It must be really gutting for you that Raya may be off to Arsenal. Despite the fact it would net us a bit of much needed cash that might be spent on desperately needed transfers, you seem to be really unhappy. Obviously this is because it would prove to be a massive dropped bollock by Mowbray and the club, and rather than acknowledge that you would rather dig out Raya. It’s as transparent as it is weird

I predict about as much success as his half baked £10,000 giveaway brainwave

Our corporate uptake has been pathetic for years, and it’s obviously only going to get worse with the Covid situation. I can’t see that anyone other than committed, frequent, hardcore supporters are going to want to set foot in the ground for the foreseeable... and this approach threatens to piss a large section of them off for absolutely no reason.

“We have told the owners that we have to be engaging with other players as well to get them on longer-term contracts if we can, and if they will sign, so we can retain the assets so that if any clubs come in for our assets, and there’s been talk about some about some of our players which is good, but we have to protect them so if they do have to go, we get the right terms for them.” This worries me. I can see another “He will be signing any day now” scenario.

I found a big box full of old 90 minutes magazines a few years back when my parents were moving. Gave me a reminder of how good a magazine that was. I suppose us being a top team and heavily featured helped!
-
We will likely still get a left back and a centre back before the window closes. One or both will be on loan. It was somewhat inevitable we wouldn’t get them in for the kick off. The pattern of the last decade is enough to tell us that.
-
Despite frequent claims he has been played out of position since the day we signed him, he appears to only have the inclination or ability to play as an inside forward/wide forward. For me there are several better options than him in that position. Doesn’t look like a centre forward in the slightest.
-
Really nice way to sign off the preseason. Excellent performance and very pleasantly surprised with how solid we generally looked defensively. If you were basing it solely on today’s game you’d say we were in urgent need of a centre forward before any defensive reinforcements. I think Gallagher with JRC and Armstrong either side of him would be our best front three. Ideally we would add another striker who can be that central focal point.
-
I’d love to see @JoeH do a heat map on Brereton that half. He must’ve spent a total of about 12 seconds in their box and never got beyond the penalty spot. For all the talk of him needing to play as a centre forward, it just doesn’t look like that is his game.

Will you buy a Season Ticket?
Miller11 replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I thought about something similar a while back... If you know in decent(ish) time you can’t make a game you could effectively give up your ticket for that game. If 20 people registered to do so make 5 family tickets available, Ideally to families who are struggling financially. We aren’t pushed for space At the best of times so there shouldn’t be a problem in finding a spot for them. A simple ‘register your interest’ or waiting list scheme shouldn’t be too arduous for someone at the club to implement. -
Will you buy a Season Ticket?
Miller11 replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I was fully intending to end my boycott this season and buy one. Covid has put a stop to that. I’ve effectively lost my livelihood, although when I’ve been in a tight spot financially before I found the money and could do again, but after 6 months of shielding due to a health condition I’m not going to be entering the ground for a while. If I was buying one effectively as a new customer, I’d be ok with a modest price hike... I’d question the logic and see it as typically short sighted, but I’d grin and bear it. If I was renewing I’d be seriously pissed off. The entire tone of that message from Waggott is dreadful. Illogical justifications, deliberately provocative and divisive, and generally incompetent (telling people to go out and buy shirts which aren’t even on sale yet). -
It’s not as simple as comparing us to PNE or anyone else John. We’ve been pretty uniquely messed around by our owners for years, and it’s resulted in plummeting attendances and a lost generation of supporters. The club need to be coming up with radical ways to re-engage with the disenfranchised and attract new fans. Price hikes, however modest, are never going to do this. And while the current climate is certainly impacting the clubs finances, it will be impacting the day to day finances of people already living in an economically deprived area, that just so happens to be about the worsting hit place by the pandemic in the country, even more.
-
I don’t know why I’m bothering. I’d get more joy from a brick wall, but here goes... Is your daughter paying for her own season ticket? If they had increased hers but frozen yours would you be having second thoughts about taking her?
-
Ah I understand, you are making as much sense as ever! Well thank god they haven’t hiked the price of kids tickets then, just yours.
-
Why are you pleased? Do you think we are going to see a massive increase in kids attending games? If so it is going to look like something out of Lord of the Flies because their parents, the ones who pay for the tickets and take them may well be priced out! Waggott is talking utter shit!
-
For a man who’s come out with some utter bollocks at times, I think he’s surpassed himself with this one... “To counter balance the price freeze for Under-18s, we will be having to make a necessary upward adjustment to the prices of other Season Ticket holders”
-
I notice the statement fails to mention the impending layoffs and redundancies.
