  1. If (big If), Venky's actually wanted to sell us, I'd be amazed if they didn't cash in on £20m for Wharton first. Having him as a Rover is unlikely to increase bids by the same amount. Didn't Venky's buy us for about £25m then sell Jones for £16m within the year (maybe this just highlights what mugs the Walker Trust were)
  2. A normal club, would probably think £20m + sell on % allows us to reinvest £15m into a Championship squad and still have some left over for the finance lads as well as the sell-on fall back. Not bad for an academy lad (thanks Jack) We, obviously, will throw JDT a few pieces of shrapnel, and the rest will go into the usual Venky's black hole. Our issue with reinvesting all that money is what it does to the wage bill, having said that, we seem to be cutting that constantly yet our losses don't improve so god knows.
  3. Whilst I agree about the borough thing and the shocking input outside of BwD (I speak first hand from Chorley originally), I do think it’s a positive to have this scheme running….i believe it’s more Yasir Sufi than it is Waggot mind you. Reading some of the comments on social media are depressing “why carnt we av buzzes running from are local church too?” Some of these lads just need to grow up, such a backwards bunch. Good work by those setting up - would be nice if they actively approached schools with the offer (not sure if they do?), I remember getting tickets through my school in Chorley early doors.
  4. Likewise, i've been a member for 3 years and haven't received a single piece of communication on anything (newsletters, meeting notes etc.)
  5. I’m starting to think it was Andy on this messageboard
  6. I’d tend to agree, but since spending a few months watching Ennis and Telalovic, I can’t help but feel he makes a difference to this squad
  7. Good to see JRC and Gally back, yes the latter gets some pelters but jesus the squad is in bits when you look at what we’ve had this last month. Nobody can argue that the two of them make us stronger than what we’ve had in December
  8. Without sounding like a massive aftertimer (it will though)…I’ve never really bought into the Hyam hype that he gets from Rovers fans. Weak as piss, not vocal, doesn’t seem like a leader (could be wrong), absolutely horrendous at dealing with anything slung into the box or if it gets scrappy in the box. Having said all that, we didn’t particularly look any better at the back when he was out, and it can’t be easy with whatever you want to call the person in the nets (he’s certainly not a goalkeeper) behind you. Playing for safety now and I guess the hope of an FA Cup run if we continue to get lower league opponents.
  9. A league 2 side at home to get to the L16 of the FA Cup. Win this (and let's be honest we'll be odds on favourites), then we're 1 game away from the FA Cup Quarter Finals and 2 games away from finally having a trip to the new Wembley (not that the semi-finals should be there). Let's have them!
  10. Madness if they’re thinking Ennis or The German part-timer are better options. We’re run by complete incompetents
  11. Agree, he deserves a proper chance but he’ll never get that under Venkys unfortunately, and it’s grim to see the lack of backing he’s had from the rest of the muppets in Ewood/India Add to the above some proper cup runs and the closest we’ve got to Wembley since the morons turned up
  12. Looks like he could play until Christmas and still not score.
  13. He’s clearly the best option out of himself, Telalovic and Ennis (not that that’s much of a statement)
  14. He tells it at face value, but it just feels like such a weird thing for our social media team to be sending out. It all seems so disjointed, we'll never get a decent bid for him in the future after saying that.
  15. I thought The Eggs job was to “increase squad value” or some shite like that. Not the best look when your main assets are academy lads (and Szmodics). We have Jack and the academy he built to thank that we can even muster a team together these days!
  16. Here here - the day will come when they fuck off eventually.
  17. Someone said it on another thread a few weeks ago…..the longer Gallagher is out for, the more we start thinking he’s Ronaldo. Regardless, he’s an upgrade on anything we have available right now.
  18. Greg Broughton is so far out of his depth it’s laughable
  19. Great finish by Siggy. Quick reaction, hopefully see some more of that. We’ve started like we did a month or so ago, fast and not allowing the opposition time on the ball. Let’s kick on and have a big result.
  20. What I’d give to see us put a performance in like Luton have today. Superb fitness, fight and determination.
  21. Based on the REGIONAL 4th tier of German football this guy really knows where the net is. So does Tony, the plumber who plays part time for Chorley at the same level this lad has only ever scored a goal at.
  22. Not sure if it’s satire or not. Looks like he has his left glove on his right and his right on his left from what I’ve seen. Hopeless
  23. First game I’ve missed for a while. I’ve not re-read the thread but I imagine it was a mega bipolar affair with the ups and downs in the 1st half. Not much else to add on Rovers now, I’m on the verge of being done until Venkys are gone. Venkys Out. Waggot Out. Steve Cooper - you lot are in cloud cookoo land. We’re going one way under this stewardship and it’s back to league 1. Best thing that’s happened here in years was JDT but in true Venky spirit they didn’t back it up. Any hope was lost in the last two January windows (O’Brien fiasco then ‘India froze our funds’ bullshit). They have no interest. They’re the problem, always have been, always will be.
