Has the fee involved for McGuire been confirmed anywhere? If it's the $7m option to buy that the American guy suggested then it's almost a laughable deal. Even if he tears the league up in the 20 or so games he's available there is no chance we're paying £5m for him.

Add to the fact that Waggott got his bonus for increasing ticket revenue (even though it’s shite) and all the cup run money for 2 years straight, the year we were on TV for like 30 of the 46 games. All the above, we should be well down £10m a year loss before any player trading which is far more stomachable and within FFP too. Wonder what happened to Ethan Brierley since the shambles with him (often forgotten about amongst the O'Brien mess). He's a year older than Adam Wharton, doesn't look to have gone on loan at all from Brentford.

Why the **** are we loaning a 21 year old defender. It's the most pointless transfer decision ever. We have Hyam, Wharton, McFadzean, O'Riordan and then Gamble as our own youngster (that's without even accounting for the injured Carter). We do not need a 21 year old loaned defender. I'd barely accept it if we were paying £0 fee and £0 wages each week, as it's a waste of a loan spot.

I think from memory in the last window Chaddy was using it in every post (hence the previous post). Some sort of vague memory of that. (When the only twists and turns were down the snake and never up the ladder for Rovers)

These supporters are now an active deterrent for this Football club. They are assisting in the death of the club we all love. yes that is what I was trying to say - sorry if it was poorly articulated. Was based on ‘loan now buy later’. Ie if we’re going down that route then it is going to be spread over a few windows. Not expecting £10m-£15m to be spent in the last day or two of this window.

I pretty much said all that in the original post. I’m not talking about spending all that in January as I was replying to the ‘loan now buy later’ policy. Regardless, we’re getting £23m over the next few windows plus a potential £4m eventually. Besides, surely anyone we buy runs off the same principle of ‘instalments’ so the point is moot. We need to be spending over 50% of that if we have any ambition of promotion - isn’t that meant to be ‘the model‘?

Ah yeah sorry this wasn’t specific to January - was around the ‘loan now with a view to buy in Summer’ so essentially over the two windows. Making £12m profit on player sales and wages being relatively flat versus past championship years when you consider outgoings - FFP shouldn’t be an issue. If it is we’re not going to put £25m+ of transfer funds into our pot ever 3 years are we so we might as well close up shop now
