  1. This made me have a look back - bloody Zebra Claims (now dissolved). Honestly the commercial operation at Ewood couldn’t scream incompetence any more if it tried yet they’re all compensated incredibly well.
  2. Laughable commercial operation down there. In answer to the newly created thread around one thing you’d change it would be getting rid of clowns like Waggott and the school kid in charge of marketing and getting some people who are competent and live and breath the club in running the show. Wouldn’t be hard to find for £300k a year
  3. There is a happy man, sat somewhere enjoying a pint on the beach, with a big smile on his face. Mr Steven Waggott I can count at least 5 potential A++ games he’d go for!
  4. Or that one of them drew Benfica and the other drew another Italian team in the QF (whilst City, Madrid, Bayern and Chelsea were all drawn in the other half).
  5. We allegedly picked their pocket for Hyam. But they’ve just got to Wembley with 2 clean sheets against Boro. Maybe it’s the Coventry scouts and recruitment team we should be after
  6. Rumours online appear to be Charlton. Would make sense geographically given it’s where he’s from and where he started his youth career
  7. We’ve been starved of any club legends since Venkys turned up in town, and instead we’ve painfully been given the Orrs, Murphys and Bests of the world. Dacky has been the highlight player of the last 10 years. A great signing, and for our younger fans undoubtedly a legend. He dragged us out of League One (Peterborough home game stands out as we were 1-0 and about to bottle the automatics until he scored 2 and assisted 1), then he pushed us on in the Championship. 50 goals in 158 games and some great days watching him play off Graham. A bit of footballing class at a time we were starved of it for so long. All the best Dacky
  8. If we were run properly that would be under £10m a year. Every year we have about a 10%-20% chance of promotion to the premier league - not a bad risk / loss to take as a Billionaire at a shot at being a self-sufficient PL club (with facilities already in place for it so no expenditure needed there)
  9. Tippy Tappy Boring Bollocks.
  10. The camera has panned to the stand for both subs and the fans looked a little perplexed. He must have reverted to type. The delivery from Doughty and Clark for Luton has been superb all game. What we were allegedly getting with Thomas (although we’d have nobody on the other end regardless in our team of midgets)
  11. Lads and lasses on the Sunderland forum are ranking him as their 2nd best ever manager after Peter Reid (or at least in most of their lifetime) in one thread 3/4 of a season and a 6th place championship finish.
  12. Talk of Rovers or Millwall ‘bottling it’ - Sheffield Wednesday were something like 6 clear with a game in hand at the top of the table with about 9 games to go. Missed automatics and then lost 4-0 to Peterborough in the 1st leg. For Rovers, a league with Plymouth and Peterborough should be a good thing (apart from the long away days). If the relegated Prem clubs are basket cases (here’s hoping), then we should have a proper run at the Top 6.
  13. Crown paints still in the market….They’re close enough. We could get ‘Euro Garages’ 😂
  14. You also thought Lampard was a good manager, Hirst will come good if given more time and that Morton should start ahead of Wharton as he doesn’t train hard enough. You’re wrong on this one too for what it’s worth
  15. Got his fingers crossed for 8k Leeds and Everton! (Sheff Wed dead in the water now - so he prob wants Bolton there)
  16. Surely Boro would be the best result for our interest next year I.E. the best team and best run club out of the division
  17. Millwall 2nd goal, Luton flapped at a corner when they hit the bar, Coventry not dealing with multiple crosses (goal scored from 2 yards out in the centre), Huddersfield 1st goal from the corner he came and flapped at the ball and missed. That's just the last 7 or so games. Might be harsh to add Huddersfield second goal through his legs and Reading from 25 yards near post went down like the titanic. In the interest of balance, there were a few Kaminski howlers too, Rotherham in particular springs to mind.
  18. Kaminski won 14 from 28 (50%) and clean sheet % of 35.7% and save % of 71.2% Pears won 6 from 18 (33%) and clean sheet % of 27.8% and save % of 67.2% Prob worth adding Pears had a pretty settled back 4 in front of him throughout. Kaminski had Travis RB, Phillips CB, Hedges, LB, Mola LB all on occasion. That Burnley away game Kaminski had a back 5 of Brittain (LB), Mola, Ayala, Hyam, Hedges (RB)
  19. Moneyball it certainly is not. Obviously xG is clearly very divided on here, but I thought i'd mention anyway as it can help alleviate any bias we all may have. The column highlighted is the difference between Expected Goals Conceded vs Goals Conceded. i.e. Kaminski conceded 3.1 goals fewer than xG would suggest and Pears conceded 1.5 more.
  20. Pears signs a new contract to 2027 - don't like where this is going personally. If you're playing against Blackburn Rovers next season just keep whipping those balls into the box and reap the rewards.
  21. £2.45m revenue we made from ST and half ST this season just gone, and that was allegedly the most since PL relegation. It's absolute sweet F-all in the grand scheme, and so easy to recoup the same amount with cheaper tickets. We'll save more than £2.45m a year in wages from Dack/Ayala/Diaz (2 of which barely need replacing).
  22. Plymouth at home on a Wednesday night red button = sub 10k crowd at this sale rate. Makes my blood boil looking at the seat map and thinking they're actually happy with this! They should be ashamed. If you purchased individual tickets for each game last season it would be £575 at original prices. Then a few went cheaper (Luton £20 instead of £25, Norwich £20 instead of £25, Reading £10 or £15? instead of £20, and then probably a few more I've missed too). So in reality it would be about £550 if you bought every single ticket individually. You'd have to attend 19 of the 23 matches to make it value to buy at £429 (and it probably won't be value at all at the next price increase). There isn't really any other benefits to a season ticket, the stadium doesn't sell out and you'll likely get any away ticket you want now Burnley are gone.
  23. Could be a really interesting year coming up for a few clubs. I think PNE could be in for a real struggle. Little to no investment at all in their squad and a few players running down contracts. Johnson leaving on a free this summer they've got absolutely zero creativity. Relegation battle for them. WBA running out of money, they'll be selling anyone of value and won't be attracting much good. Can see Coberan leaving when reality hits in, maybe Leeds would fancy him if they end up relegated. If Leicester come down they've got a huge loan out to the banks, I'd imagine they play it the same way as Burnley in that they'll sell Maddison and Barnes for £70m or so, and reinvest £20m of it. Their wage bill is around £70m a year, and I doubt they have any clauses in place. It won't be as easy as people think to emulate what Kompany managed to do this year.
  24. Exactly this. Nearly every reply under season ticket posts for the upcoming year is a negative one. In recent years it always felt more weighted towards agreeing with pricing
