  1. Need to go back to 433 - overrun in midfield and positionally all over the show in the back 4. Moran - Szmodics - Sigurdsson front 3
  2. Still very early to talk about the table etc. see Boro last season and Forest the season before. We’re absolutely fine and we’ll go on to batter plenty of teams. This lot are the best in the league, £30m full back, £100k a week striker etc We clearly need to change the goalkeeper but Vardy rocketing that 2nd in shows the difference in the two teams.
  3. Hyam offside on that free-kick. Criminal. How thick are these players
  4. I’m making that 10 goals now he’s cost us. It’s on you JDT. Should have been dropped last season after Huddersfield. Pears isn’t good enough for our bench.
  5. Crazy to think Ricardo is playing in this league. Should be a really open match - I worry for our full backs, particularly Pickering (and obviously Pears)
  6. With Leonard out for a few weeks I think I'd rather go with 4-3-3 and a front 3 of Szmodics, Siggy and Moran and bulk up this midfield with either Garret/Tronsted/JRC alongside Travis and Wharton. So so so frustrating that we've got to sit and watch another 90 of Pears.
  7. It's just a free hit for them to do something the fans can get behind though. How much would we be paying for coaches? Can't be more than £10k. 500 x £40 ticket would get the club £20k, not sure if they make money or not on that. Just stick them on for free, shout about, market it, maybe then JDT won't have to come out and give you a dig post-match Swag.
  8. Free coaches is a good shout for this one. It's something I have no doubt Rovers of old would have gone for. Assuming we get 50% of ticket sales like FA Cup(?) then it'll be a decent enough payday to allow us to put on 40 (total guess) or so free coaches. It has potential to be a cracking evening for us, a lot of our 16-25 generation won't have seen us play Chelsea since school days, so to them it'll be even bigger, and no doubt they'd be a decent proportion of coach buyers.
  9. AFC Wimbledon were charged £26 and then Brighton £32. Hopefully we’re in the lower range, but they are trying to claw back their £1billion spent.
  10. The Andy Cole saga tells us all we need to know about this man…..something about a leopard and spots. Add in the training ground saga more recently and the bloke isn’t to be trusted in the slightest.
  11. Ha yeah it’s so bad. It was sent 4 hours before kick off too, how can you be that wrong at that stage.
  12. Racking up the mileage on Swags new coach, resale value plummeting.
  13. I’d imagine a 4k+ allocation, beware they charged £32 tonight for a Carabao Cup match. Chelsea the 12:30 Saturday game before it so I’d imagine we’ll be a Tuesday night match on Halloween! With Fulham, Everton, Liverpool, United all playing Sunday they’ll be the Wednesday night matches
  14. Ooofff - we’ll stuff them then draw Port Vale / Mansfield winners in the QF!
  15. United away or Port Vale / Mansfield at home please.
  16. From what I’ve seen it should be Siggy, Szmodics and Moran behind Leonard (if we continue with this formation although I’d rather 3 in midfield as we’re often overrun). Dolan behind Markanday and Hedges when fit.
  17. Perfect, thanks for that. Assumed it would be something to do with the timings.
  18. Yeah I think with Edun too it was close to £5m anyway. We spent £800k on the keeper so would suggest what £4m on other signings (German striker + loan fees). That seems like a lot of money, but again it might not take account instalments, and it might be nothing to do with the summer transfer window anyway, although it does suggest it is.
  19. I found this part interesting from Maguire (the bottom highlighted part)… Net transfer fee of £20k since the balance sheet was submitted. It would suggest quite the fee for the non-league German lad (no idea how it accounts for instalments but I’d have thought Kaminski + Phillips would account for more than Wahlstedt and Telalovic)
  20. 90%+ of the league are in the same boat. PNE have very similar finance sheets to ourselves. QPR lost £24m last year, West Brom are teetering on the edge, Birmingham are yearly looking like points deductions (Bellingham basically saved the club) with half a stadium in disrepair. Stoke lost £18m when you take away the owners wiping debt last year and Bristol City lost £29m (they actually lost £39m the year before too)! Cardiffs parachute payments ended and revenue dropped from £35m to £20m meaning they lost £29m! Reading took a few years to burst but it got there etc. etc. Essentially parachute payments mean you're okay for a few years taking a gamble, then it's impossible to not make a loss in reality bar selling a once in a generation player (Bellingham), it just varies how big that loss is, unless you're a bigger income team perhaps (Leeds/Sunderland could operate to profit if their wages were controlled) What we need to do is improve our commercial operation (ST sales are a drop in the ocean on our wider balance sheet so actually try and do something different like PNE / Bolton have done), and actually sell our assets when they're at their peak (Diaz, Rothwell, Lenihan)
  21. In your last 4 or 5 match day threads you’ve gone from Pears to Wahlstedt to Pears and now back to Wahlstedt. I’m a fan of JDT but it’s criminal he’s still playing an Euxton Villa level goalkeeper who is only a professional through nepotism, ahead of someone he spent our paltry transfer budget on. Hopefully that’s the end of it, at least now all those who were insistent Pears somehow deserved to start have their eyes open now.
  22. Pears wasn’t even decent last year. Cost us multiple points end of season which ultimately cost us the playoffs. Not good enough for our bench.
  23. Potential debut for Sigurdsson off the bench? 🎵 He’s Icelandic, Now he plays in the famed blue and white kit, He makes the rest of the league look like they’re shit, Arnor Sigurdsson (copyright superniko and Noel Gallagher) Give it bells everyone down there! ….Now to try and squeeze Sammie Szmodics into Supersonic. Nervy 2-1 to Rovers
  24. JRC plays 20 minutes in CM with quite possibly the worst front 3 Rovers have ever played in front of him, and Garrett alongside him and we get this nonsense 😂
  25. Leonard to start for me. His goal scoring record was at a higher standard of opponent than what Telalovic was in Germany, and the latter looks miles away from JDT high press and quick football fitness levels. I see the 100m sprint time has disappeared from wikipedia now, as it was complete nonsense. Looks like he runs through treacle. (Early days and we've barely seen him with the ball at his feet so no judgement on his quality, just that it'll take time to get up to JDTs standards so don't think he should be starting yet). Brittain was our best player mid-week, be interesting to see what JDT decides with him and JRC long-term.
