  1. Yep. absolute complete f'ing joke. Nissa, Tugay, Gresko and Amo (who would fail to win a medal in Athens this week) all need a rocket up their bums. As for fitness I could not believe Nissa keeled over for 5 mins with cramp. To try and be positive Emmerton worked his backside off and MGP looked good. But apart from that headless chickens come to mind; plenty of running around but no direction and no leadership on the pitch. The other positive was that so few turned up to witness history in making. But to those fans who did go the support was excellant from so few. Can't wait for the trip to Charlton
  2. Apart from some sensible comment from Kammy and Hughesey i've rarely read such sad drivel and related rascist undertones for a long long time. If this is the attitude of the majority of Rovers fans you can stuff my season ticket and the £thousands I spend watching Rovers every season.
  3. i'll donate £10. all we need now is: 1. other donations 2. someone to donate to (not Grabbi's bank a/c) 3. someone to make it 4. permission perhaps ?
  4. Stopped by manc in Ewood car park yesterday whilst picking up Newcastle tickets to be asked can I get him a couple of Manc tickets. Told him to go forth and multiply...hope others did. ps. the guy had a weasel face
  5. Let's be positive chaps. Where is the best pub for a decent pint at a decent price with a good craic near the ground. Luckily i'm stopping the night near Old Street and a few pops will round off a good night. hiccup
  6. This must be one of the best threads on the Message Board for some time and just shows how much Rovers fans are desperate for success on the field. Yes GS got it wrong in the first half but at least he had the b**lls to do something about it at half time rather than wait for the last 10/15 mins. Yes we should beat teams like WBA but lets focus on the positives and the performances of people like Yorke, Fergie, Short, Gray and in the second half Stead. And please let us take a rationale view after say 12 games rather than the first game of the season.
  7. I hear what you say about the Sumners but i've been there with rovers shirt on last 2 times we have played (promotion and Worthington/League Cup) with only minor banter; I was with Nob Enders however. Toy Gun this year then: has the advantage of car parking and shopping.
  8. went to Ewood on sat to pick up N*b end ticket. John Newsham collared me to show off the new turnstile..and it worked..and he confirmed that the Riverside will use proximetry readers to pick out those who leave before 75mins, they will be sent a personalised letter offering a free pie at the next game if they stay for 85 mins or more. Also JN was very upset when I told him the new credit card tickets were only brought in to stop fans chucking their ST books on the pitch. On the positive side he says the new cards can be reused in future seasons, they only need updated info on the magnetic strip. BUT, the magnetic strips can be damaged by alcohol.
  9. I'm going to the Sumners before game. Will they let me in with inflatable kangaroo ?
  10. Lost my instruction book. hich way round must you hold the card, and is it left or right hand please?
  11. Stuwilky, next time you go to the Theatre of Sh!te send me a message. I have access to a multi-storey almost opposite the cricket ground (5 mins walk) that is unused on saturdays. You say "United Utilities" to the security intercom.
  12. some excellant posts frpm Capt, Pabby and Bob. Out of the regular ST holders I knock around with only 1 from 10 has renewed. They have other interests, the atmosthere has gone, they have been made redundant, or they are sick of watching overpaid posers who do not put in the effort. I've started to watch Rugby League: brilliant skill, great laugh with the crowds and players who don't argue and get up after 30 seconds and two broken legs. What really naffs me off is ppv. I realise that this is out side of Rovers control, but Sky made their announcements after all club season tickets went on sale. I allready miss 2 games due to hols, now I will miss 3 to 6 due to the late kickoffs and my being at work at 6pm. I almost cancelled my ST's last week and asked for a refund. I won't this season and i'll loan them to someone who cannot afford to go...but what incentive is there for me to continue with a ST: non apart from blind loyalty which is becoming rather strained at present.
  13. "Slightly down" from 15K to 10K....is this the same JW who does the player contract negotiations? Seriously though I do not believe that our average gates will suffer too much, apart from the dire home performances last season the main reason for non renewals is that fans do not need a ST. Most ST holders miss a few games due to hols, work etc and will still be able to buy tickets for all the games they want to attend as regular buyers on the database.
  14. The Club are keeping very quiet on the subject and Ticket Office leaks are almost non existent. The only comment I could get, and a passing comment at that, was "slowish". Any news?
  15. ST forms back in the post to Ewood!! On PNE I went to Dumpdale with neighbours a couple of times last season. The ground is cheap and nasty but the atmosphere at games is far better than we ever get at Ewood...that is what attracts the younger kids who find it difficult to concentrate on 90 mins of dross on the field. The kids love the noise and the band; and the kids go to Dumpdale in droves. On the + side well done to Williams with our ST package this time.
  16. very concerned that ST holders will reduce massively again this season. i've spoken to 12 ST holders in the last week (from Chorley/Euxton/Leyland) and not one will be renewing. They range from being holders from 10 to 25 years and see no benefit whatsoever in an ST apart from knowing where they sit. They cite: lack of passion from players clashes with golf! £10 tickets missing 2/3/4 games due to hols. those final two points mean they can pick and choose games as a non ST holder and save money; and when a big game comes they will always be able to get a ticket as we never sell out. This is depressing but was replicated by many ST holders in the stand around me approaching the end of last season. WHAT IS THE ANSWER?
  17. i'll renew out of loyalty even though I miss 2 or 3 home games per season, the sad thing is that when i can't make no-one is ever interested in utilising the my 2 tickets even on a freebee basis. there is no easy fix to the attendance problem, and the best we'll get from the club is a price freeze, this however being an income reduction to the club if you take into account inflation at 2.6%. my thinks another 10% reduction in renewals this season. From talking to fellow season ticket holders many say they will not renew but will attend on a match by match basis. it is too easy to blame the Club and Williams; what they need are ideas and some meaningful fan consultation although it sounds that we are too late if the next seasons package is already sorted.
  18. would it not make sense for the ticket office to open at say 8am on Monday for those people who have to be in work by 9am. whoops, sorry.....that would be too sensible for for the Ewood management.
  19. spoke to a work mate last night who is a member of the Leeds Celtic Branch. Says they ARE getting 8K tickets and from past experience will bring 3/4K without tickets. Also offered me £250 if I would get him a ticket on my 2nd Season Ticket. Sounds like another potential BRFC v Man City here with Celtic fans offering big wads for Rovers fans tickets.
