  1. I might have to agree with that
  2. IQ test anyday. The point I was making is that as part of my job I visit a number of disaster zones and "trouble" areas, and that Burnley is on a par with many of these. I am sorry if you find me comments distateful but they obviously hit a sore point. ps. Will the game be on Ararbic TV in Dubai next week...i'll have to watch it beachside.
  3. I have only set foot in the town of t'bas****s very rarely: yesterday, 2000 and 1977 being the last 3 occasions. The striking image as you travel thru the area is that it is "the town that time left behind". I've been to a few dumps and desolate areas over the years but this place is the dumps being on a par with the worst such as Gaza Strip, Lagos and more recently Banda Aceh. As for the residents of said town a whole range of adjectives come to mind: simple; inbreds; animal like ;moronic etc etc. The most apt description is sub-human. we must look to build a border wall aroud the hovel, with Israeli style passport control.
  4. 50 v 75 arrests that is
  5. i've saved my "firesticks" (all 8) for T'urd on Sunday. The Dingles will be hungry for a good meal.
  6. GAV did you get my pm? please say if not interested. ta
  7. no, even citeh was not sold out
  8. Can we vote on Abbey's reply to go on Messageboard Gold. The best reply for months.
  9. 1865; I can't understand the dig about Manure. I detest Manure but I wish we had this sort of demand for tickets on a day-to-day basis. We appear to be agreeing on the fairness and the demand issues. After all every ST holder with 2 aways was able to claim a ticket. I have 2 ST's and an away record and could have claimed 2 and sold the second for a profit, I didn't and the ticket was available to the rest of the Q today. But basic question is how do you share 3800 tickets amongst well over 3800 people and not upset folk? Answers to Einstein please.
  10. The Burnley game is a rare problem for Rovers but is one faced by Manure fans all the time. The simple facts are that demand has outstripped availability. Rovers needed an allocation system and they devised the fairest one possible (even if that means Jordan received a ticket before anyone else!). Rovers, Williams, Coar etc are on a no win here as they CANNOT please all us fans. I for one wish we were in this positionn of fans clamouring for tickets every week.
  11. wish I could help...perhaps you could try Scumley?
  12. Onepost: for the Celtic game I queued bau could not get a ticket even though I had been to Sofia. I dropped Bob Coar a firm but non threatening note and it did the trick.
  13. and you don't even need a passport Jordan
  14. Don't forget your passports. can't wait, my first match at T'urd since the Simon Garner classic in 1982. The best for me was Boxing Day 1977 when we won 3-2 at T'urd with Waggy, Fear and Noel scoring. We painted Scumly blue and white and started the famous "Harke thou hear the Rovers sing the B*****ds ran away, we will sing for ever more because of Boxing Day..." What a great day out!
  15. only 1175 sold today
  16. see my earlier post. £80 Corporate trip (ticket, meal etc) was advertised within less than 24 hours. and why not?
  17. if you can't get tickets from Rovers you'll get them from Burnley. mind you getting tickets has never been a problem, even Celtic away, at Rovers getting tickets has always been who you know.
  18. tickets already available thru Rovers Corporate. £80 + VAT. includes 3 course meal.
  19. Dingle on Radio Lancs 5 mins back: "...it will be worse than Baghdad, the place will be far more smashed up". Sounds like a client for those bananas.
  20. aah I can just imagine it now. A quite stroll to The Dingledom Stadium after Church. a stop off for a half pint of shandy next to the ground for a bit of banter with the fine and friendly locals. A Jonnie Stead hat trick and a spot of shopping afterwards in Burnley town centre before catching the bus back to Blackburn Boulevard. I love these derbies; they bring out the best in Society.
  21. anyone recommend a good pub near the ground?
  22. There is a general misconception on this MB that if we offerered cheap or free tickets that members of the public would actually want them. I have tried to loan my very decent JW ST's out on a number of occasions, as have my friends; the general response is that "I wouldn't even go and watch that s**t for nought". The problem is we play garbage and we can't even give tickets away. Yes it is a chicken and egg situation but the simple answer of free/cheap tickets = bums on seats does not work. Indeed it could have the opposite effect and turn people off for life if exposed to the lack of quality at Ewood.
  23. 0-6 Savage sent off pies run out 22,150
  24. After a few post match scoops I walked past the Notlob team bus which was boarding with players. They were winding up the fans by making diving gesticulations through the windows. If it were back in the late 70's I would have bananas at them. scum...scum...scum
  25. my vote to date for "Match Preview of the Year Award"...beam us up Scotty. 2-0 Savage and Toddy. 22,750
