  3. I always find it interesting that in America the word 'liberal' has been re-defined (V for Vendetta anyone?) and used as a negative. It's also interesting to see 'democratic' used as a negative in the above post. Very strange. Especially considering the following is in their own pledge of allegiance- 'with liberty and justice for all.' Think about what that means and compare that to a criticism of things getting more liberal and democratic..... Anyhow, this is the music thread!
  4. You'll not be disappointed, believe me!
  5. The Courteeners-Please don't.
  6. Alice in Chains- Them bones
  7. Jane's Addiction- Been caught stealing

  10. Sly and the Family Stone- everybody dance
  11. I've been to a couple (Bloc Party/The XX) and have a couple more good gigs lined up recently. (Future Islands and The Cribs) I went to watch The XX on Sunday at the Apollo (Manchester) and they were sensational. Jamie XX is a genius and it's refreshing to see such a modest band that don't realise just how good they are. Jamie XX (who does a lot of solo dance stuff) has about £10k worth of kit kicking around and makes some unreal visuals, sounds etc. For me, they're one of my favourite bands as they bring together the best of modern music production and traditional stuff. But they're just great. 3 albums deep and remarkably consistent. (I'll stop geeking out now!)
  12. The Smiths- Stop me if you think you've heard this one before
  13. Tears for fears- Shout
  14. Azzido Da Bass- Doom's night
  15. Iration Steppas- No war dub
  16. Looks like the government have overruled the local council and will be going ahead with this in Lancashire. Democracy, eh? It's so odd that they wouldn't look for shale gas in the Home Counties.....
  17. It seems like everyone's favourite Irish traveler Tyson Fury might be in danger of losing his licence. Based on what he's been saying on Twitter et al, that lad needs checking into rehab or counseling ASAP, he's clearly in need of a fair amount of help and I sincerely hope he seeks that help.
  18. Back with a bang, eh? The idiot brother made a gravely exaggerated point re American Golf fans at the Ryder Cup. I'd guess that it's because of the etiquette in Golf, where boisterous behavior from supporters, to say the least isn't normal. I think Al had it nailed with his analysis- the USA's putting was unreal, but Clarke IMO didn't pick his strongest side and it was a huge hindrance in the end. The European team have some incredibly talented golfers and they just have to dust themselves down and go again in 2018.
  19. I just hope that cocaine isn't being treated as a performance enhancing drug, unless it's enhancing the performance of a swinging jaw and the ability to chat rubbish at hyper speed....If he was coked up and in the ring, Klitschko would have sparked him!
  20. Ordinarily I wouldn't go to Level One, but I hadn't seen my mate for a while so he forced my hand! Number 39 is a good spot, I watched a reggae band there at Darwen Live!
  21. I was in Darwen on Saturday night and didn't even go into The Bridgewater! Though I did end up in Level One with my mate until daft o'clock!
  22. Wings- Band on the run
  23. Reading the comments on here and elsewhere online, it seems to me that Fury has lost the drive since becoming World Champ and his heart isn't in it any more. A shame really, I've no doubt it would be hard to admit in public were that the case. The problem is though, the longer all the crap goes on, the more his credibility will be adversely affected....
