Our academy strategy is only right if it yields players that help us achieve our objectives (which presumably include promotion). If it doesn’t, then we are just plodding along for the sake of it and just existing as a club really for me. I think it might be anecdotally seeing more Burnley shirts than Rovers shirts knocking about tbh- though of my mates in Clitheroe- it’s about 50/50.

Given they’re all much nearer to Burnley, it would be very unlikely for someone to start supporting Rovers round there…. I don’t think we have a much bigger catchment area at all, there’s not much in it really. I think you’ve been a bit crafty with the places you are claiming are Rovers too- Accy is very much 50/50, there are plenty of Burnley fans in Ossy and Great Harwood, Rawtenstall is more United than anything else, but there are lots more Burnley than Rovers there and Ramsbottom? There can’t be more than a handful of blues there!

You mention people from Pendle could easily support Rovers- you aren’t telling me Nelson, Colne, Fence and Barnoldswick are hotbeds for Rovers fans… Clitheroe is more Burnley than it is Rovers as well!

Appointing rookies from within very, very rarely works and surprise surprise, it hasn’t worked at Huddersfield. I may be wrong, but I felt that we didn’t allow Watford to play from minute one and got under their skin. Their pampered princesses didn’t fancy the rough and tumble and they must me glad they don’t have to share a pitch with Travis for a few months! (Though I would concede he need to rein it in a touch). Granted, Watford didn’t play well, but I wonder how much of that is down to us not allowing them to play.

Delighted with that tonight. What was most pleasing was how solid we look at the back and also how ordinary we made Watford look. I can’t see their manager lasting long either, given how trigger happy their owners tend to be. So proud of the lads tonight- they were excellent and fully deserving of the win and the three points.
