I actually think ID cards are quite useful, have them here over in France and basically always have (obviously not but they have had them as long as I've been around) and I'm not sure what the problem is. It's a useful form of identification if you don't have your passport or drivers license on you and if it is the same as the French system you can use it for travel within the EU and it can fit into your wallet, which is quite nice. Don't know what all the fuss is about really? Being put onto a government database? You're probably already on one. Waste of money? It's a proposal with quite a few benefits and so it isn't that much of a waste, no more so than most things other than health, education and the few basic fundamentals. Infringes upon your personal liberties? Not really unless you are going to do something stupid.

Those aren't good odds at all. If you consider the number of times he's tried and has yet to do it in any competition for us I wouldn't be tempted into that bet until the odds reached around 100/1.

I'm sure more people will have bought there ticket on matchday and also will in the few days building up. Perhaps the result on Saturday will help sales as well.

Xbox man myself so I know my money is going towards an xbox 360. Only problems I have with getting one now is the reported problems they are having and the fact that microsoft seem to intend on bringing out lots of improvements to the current model in a year or so.

[Archived] Paul Dickov Signs - Good Deal Or Not ?
Eddie replied to Baz's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Not a chance. In Tugay and Friedel he not only found players who do a great job for us but who would of, in their day, made basically every Premiership team. Dickov is effective, glad to have him, but despite the good work he's doing I think we would all like to get someone better in. He's turned out to be a good signing, but not in the same class as Neill, Tugay, Friedel or a few others. -

According to an interview I was with Hughes this morning, though obviously it will have been done yesterday, he has not left yet and a decision will not be made until after the board meeting on tuesday. -
I think that's about the second time in a month you've corrected someone's spelling Flopsy...how things change!

I'd love to think we could do this, but I just don't think we will. I have this bad feeling it's not even going to be that close and a defeat in both legs by a goal or two. I really hope it isn't like that though.

Well the good old preston supporter at the bbc has predicted a 1-1 draw...how surprising.

Souness was the right man for the job up until that summer. After the 6th place finish things went downhill and would have never turned back, but I don't think there was a better man for the job up until that point. Now that I no longer feel angry at him leaving and how he left the club I don't have any hatred towards him and actually think of him being a good manager. Despite everything that went wrong he never undid all of the good things he had accomplished. It's credit to Souness that we thought the club had fallen away when we were languishing in the bottom half, when he took over we were in that same position but a division lower, we could never have dreamt of trips to Cardiff and two seasons back in Europe.

I don't think you'd need to be drinking to think that's a remote. It might just be too weird for me not having the controller in both hands. It's good to change but that might be a bit too drastic, I'll have to try it out.

Alright...apologies for taking the post off topic. -
I don't like the look of that controller...reminds me too much of being on a plane.

You can get them here in France, though I'm waiting a bit before I get mine. Core System you can walk in and pick up, Premium has a 2-4 week wait.

We've played all the big teams away from home apart from Spurs and that will mean our second half attendances should be a little bit better. Also should consider the fact that we've only had one league game while we've been in the top half, that was tonight after a packed christmas period against a pretty uninteresting opposition who only brought 400 fans themselves so 19,482 of our own lot isn't too bad. Consider the other day at Wigan, around 20,000 and 5,200 of those were so Wigan only had 15,000 there. I'd expect that with better games to look forward to in the second half of the season and with things on the up and a very positive feel around the place then we could see that average make it up to 22,000-23,000. Who knows, maybe it could even get higher, not really sure.

Totally agree philipl. Use a bit of common sense here, not only is it ignorant but it also damages the club, not only the reputation. As has been stated several times there is a large asian population in the Blackburn area. It is because of this that if we are looking to increase crowd sizes then we should be looking to bring some of that into Ewood and convert them to Blackburn supporters. Now I don't know about you but I don't think we'll see that happen while some sections of our supporters sing about "paki bashing", no more so then you or I would go to a game if we were surrounded by a bunch of asians, arabs, africans (whichever group you choose) who were singing about slaughtering the whites or whatever. -

Don't agree with you there Jim. We sat back too much in the second half but they still only created two good chances. We dominated the first half and then in the second Savage and Emerton both should have scored after being set-up by Bellamy. -

Basically all the results are going our way at the moment other than in the Bolton-Liverpool game so if we could pick up a win it would do be great. Edit- As I say that Liverpool score and that scoreline is that much bit better for us. -

I don't remember this. I didn't think they booked you for taking off your shirt back then. Duff, for example, used to do it all of the time and was never booked for it. -

I think he'll start this one. He and Kuqi up front to really have a go at it. -

No. I don't want supporters of the same club as me singing racist songs. I also don't want to go to a game and hear opposition supporters singing racist songs. It is wrong, pure and simple and everything that can be done to get rid of it needs to be done, including having it criticised from all areas. -

Haha yes...I'm not advocating shipping in racist supporters, even I don't have ideas as weird as that. Should have been the comment about lua lua being a potential signing. -

That's actually something I've started thinking about recently and what is interesting for us is that this year may be one of the few years in recent seasons where there is quite a bit of good talent that we could use in the teams that could go down. Even looking at Sunderland, Arca could be an interesting buy for us to slot into the attacking left back role that Gray has shown can be such an important part of our game, and basically all of the teams down there have at least one player who would make a good addition to our starting 11. -

Since his injury he has made 19 starts and 32 substitute appearances in all competitions, scoring 7 times. He also had his loan spell at Coventry where he started 8 games and came on as a substitute once, scoring twice.
