  1. Four points and fair to say we've rode our luck. Plus points: Gueye and Ohashi look very good vfm signings - someone deserves a pat on the back, credit where credit is due A rejuvenated Travis Negatives: We don't look fit Defence concedes for fun Think Pears was, is and always will be a calamitous disaster and needs replacing as our urgent priority Anyone who really thinks Dolan can replace Sammie really does need to go and give their head a very serious wobble Short term prospects look grim - we will get absolutely mullered at Burnley. Season's outlook - we will be lucky to survive unless our recruitment team can pull at least three, preferably four or five, rabbits out of their hat.
  2. JRC much better coming from deep - somehow, opposition seem to struggle to pick him up from there.
  3. Think Norwich have made a poor managerial appointment and will have a terrible season (bottom 8). Can't see anything other than a Rovers' win. Made my usual 2 bets (result and score) on Rovers' match - Rovers to win at 27/10 (licence to print money!) and by 3-1.
  4. Think Nicko is a useful 'tool' for Rovers. Feeds the fans some decent stuff and then some bullsh1t to assuage the fans - £22k a week offer to Szmodics, he's having a larf. Dolan will never, ever get anywhere near to replacing Szmodics. IMO, a limited talent and a little upstart with little loyalty - this season will sadly tell.
  5. It's £9million plus add ons as widely reported. Think Nicko doing a favour by 'over egging the pudding'! Link to Rovers saying what you say?
  6. Priority is a new NUMBER 1 GOALKEEPER who will save us 15 points a season over the calamitous Pears. May well be the difference between relegation and 'survival' in the Championship. How our hopes and aspirations have been feckin dashed.
  7. Good luck Sammie - you deserve a shot at it. Fee reported by BBC and Ipswich sources as £9million plus add ons,. Was NEVER going to exceed £10million.
  8. Think anyone with a degree of knowledge about body language would suggest he looked a tad pissed off as he trudged off the pitch when subbed at Stockport and certainly not because he'd been subbed!
  9. and SS is one bad injury away from it all being over. No, we shouldn't give him away but I think our judgement needs to be far more sound than we have seen with the likes of Lenihan, Brereton, Rothwell and Dack where we got zilch for four very, very good Championship players.
  10. Looks a good signing for virtually nothing. First touch could be better at times but, hopefully, good coaching and drills will improve.
  11. Carry on cherry-picking! For me, you can have the feckin lot other than Carter, Tronstad, Rankin-Costello, Travis, Gueye, Weimann and Ohasi. As bonuses, we can throw in our CEO, COO and goalkeeper / set piece specialist!
  12. Think it's true to say Burnley made them look dire. It was an outstanding performance and there will be many, many teams who are made to look dire. Hard to swallow but credit where credit is due.
  13. Like it or not but Burnley different class. Parker has added an aggression and sharpness and a mix to their game. Posted a few weeks ago thought they would stroll the Championship - tonight's outstanding performance just confirms it.
  14. Don't rule Neil out - desperate for another job and relatively popular with PNE fans. Think Rowett's stock fallen to an all time low. Heckingbottom is probably the hard nosed, ruthless type they need and would move them forward. Was only jesting about Broughton as PNE DOF Chaddy!!! According to relatives I have in the area, Broughton can now be found shopping in either Sainsbury's or Booths!
  15. Wont play again this season unless he's been to Lourdes!!!
  16. Think PNE have someone lined up. Smart money on Heckingbottom and Alex Neil (lives just 5 miles away from Deepdale as does Broughton if they wanted a DOF!!!)
  17. Whilst it's lovely engaging in banter whilst quaffing beer in the garden on this glorious summer's day, I now need to sort the BBQ as cooking for 8 in an hour's time by which time Szmodics might have gone!!! Enjoy your evening guys.
  18. Yours is the nonsense Tommy. If Rovers want to sell Szmodics, and maybe Waggott and Pasha do, if no one will pay the present asking price then Rovers will have to compromise.
  19. Irrelevant. If the house next to yours Chaddy is sold for say £200k it doesn't necessarily mean yours is worth £200k - might be worth more or even less - its value is what someone will give you for it.
  20. If the buyer is prepared to pay the price asked then that's the value, if not, asking price is overstated. Not sure why folk are struggling to understand a very simple concept.
  21. So if Rovers say he's worth £50million he's worth £50million!?!? It's nonsense, his value is what someone is prepared to pay. Anyone walking into a shop to buy say white goods and paying what the price tag says really does need to give their head a wobble! It's called bartering and I've never failed yet to get a discount whether it be from Currys, John Lewis, Sky or BT.
  22. Wharton was grossly under valued. I think it's reasonable to say Wharton was a distressed sale to keep the club alive. Palace had us by the balls as Ipswich may have come 20 August if the court case goes against the Raos
