  1. Has no football intelligence.
  2. Mick Ferguson Andy McEvoy Fred Pickering Bryan Douglas Mike Harrison Now that is what I call a forward line! Goals, goals and more goals - aggression. pace and trickery. Remember them all like it was only yesterday!
  3. Just buy a feckin goalie Rovers. Fed up with all the excuses. No to likes of Ruddy - well past his best No to Rushworth - better than Pears, but who isn't, but not good enough for the number 1 we need No to Iversen - too expensive and overrated. At best his career has stood still. We have a recruitment team and there must be 100's of professional goalies across Europe and if they cannot come up with anyone better than the aforementioned three the they should be binned.
  4. "They call him Eamon Rogers, they call him the king of the land, his hair hangs over his shoulders tied up with a blue and white band" Who remembers that one the Blackburn End sang frequently - know the tune in my head but couldn't name it!
  5. Best full back I've ever seen in a blue and white shirt. However, do remember Tommy Hutchinson destroying him at Bloomfield Road one night match - happens to even the best!
  6. Eustace making quite clear in LT article doesn't want to lose Travis. Feels like huge issues ahead if those above agree for Travis to be sold.
  7. Not only that, their ability to track back and slide tackle with their 'unnatural' leg has virtually gone.
  8. Think clubs might have sussed out that Rovers can't be trusted!
  9. Stanstead will definitely not happen even a loan whilst Drommel highly unlikely to happen. Chaddy, has the penny not dropped yet - seems like we are boracic and it's even a battle to keep the lights on!
  10. If we had proper ambitious owners, I would suggest we would be after players better than most of those! I think some need to take a reality check. Decent players like Iversen and Stansfield even if loaned, don't come cheap and probably out of our range when loan fee and wages factored in. The fact we are trying to get rid of high end earners (like Travis) tells its own story. I think the reality is we will be scavenging for a combination of cheap overseas' signings, those UK based players still without a club and loan signings from PL clubs who no one else wants. Those still dreaming of Stansfield need to wake up and smell the coffee - not a snowball's chance in hell he ends up here even on loan.
  11. Who will be in charge of Blackpool at Ewood following sacking of Critchley? If you have a spare tenner in your wallet then get on Alex Neil at 12/1!
  12. Think we may be heading for murky and dangerous waters!
  13. Think Nixon's Stansfield link was always bullsh1t and perhaps a cynical attempt to assuage Rovers' fans - sadly, some bought it! Goodness know where we go from here in the transfer market. Who would rule out the sale of both Carter and Travis now? Desperate times and we may well now be stuck with Pears as our number 1. It really is frightening and Eustace, if he stays, faces an enormous challenge, again, to keep us in this league.
  14. Why wouldn't they? Who knows where this Indian court case will end and what the outcome may be - I think it's quite clear it is far from routine. The Raos may think feck this, let's get out what we can from our £200million.
  15. Close the thread and batten down the hatches. We are in for a stormy ride. Waggott's bullsh1t wont wash.
  16. What a nonsense. Rovers could be in serious financial trouble here considering Wharton was seemingly sold to keep the lights on particularly if VLL recall their loans or part of. Rovers' directors will need to be mindful of being held liable for wrongful trading should they know Rovers unlikely to avoid insolvency or administration. Deferment until November, at the earliest, is going to put further strain on cash and I fear if it moves it will be sold!
  17. I think the fee for Travis may well be determined by the outcome of tomorrow's court proceedings in India. Yep, we all want the best achievable price for our players but if Travis played for another club and we were after him, what would we as fans be happy to see Rovers pay? There probably lies the answer and it's a lot less than some of the numbers quoted on here!
  18. Hull confident of landing Travis according to this: https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-city-target-double-midfield-9492509 And after how Eustace has gone on about Travis and made him captain, I would think against his wishes. A slippery slope........................ Seems like Rovers Insider correct, again!
  19. A difficult game. Want to see what incomings, and outgoings, there are this week before making a call on this match. Oxford are sure to be a threat at set pieces and with Pears and our defence, that frightens me to death.
  20. Chaddy, you are coming across as a sore loser. I would suggest Ipswich didn’t mess us about but rather Rovers messed Ipswich about. Ipswich opening offer of £6million did suggest to me there was an agreement (formal or otherwise) between Rovers and SS that he could leave for sub £10million to a PL which is where we have broadly ended up. My understand is Ipswich agreed a deal with Rovers and then Rovers went back for more as has seemingly been reported at the Ipswich end hence a delay of 18 days (and not weeks). As you are an avid MB user, you will have read the same allegations that I have about Waggott - allegedly he has form for trying to change the goal posts when deals have been agreed, notably with players. The bottom line is Ipswich were the only show in time and a player's market value is only what a buyer is willing and able to pay.
  21. I've been saying this for years about Lowe and Benson - nice to see you've seen some sense. As for a 'set piece coach', just wtf do Eustace, Gardiner and Downing do? It's bollocks - Big Sam didn't need set piece coaches or defensive coaches and neither did the likes of Bill Shankly, Brian Clough, Kenny Dalglish - the game has gone feckin mad.
  22. That's down to Ipswich. As for Gallacher's opinion, why he works for Radio Lancashire rather than in employment as a DOF, manager or coach.
  23. @chaddyrovers "No other teams were after him and Blackburn could do with the money"... What Parrish is reported as saying about Wharton. Same for Sammie!?!?
  24. Read the local media stuff in Ipswich! As for what we got, a player is only worth what another team is prepared to pay. Rovers could have held him to his contract could they not?
  25. Not easily rattled at all. Fact is my broad brush numbers are right and £14m (even with a basic wage of £20k pw) is very likely to be at the bottom end of the range with a few £million more at the top range with a bigger 'basic' and other payments. For your information, 'wages and salaries' is a generic term (as per the accounts for The Blackburn Rovers Football and Athletic Limited) and includes all 'basics', bonuses and loyalty payments etc and employers' NI related to all such payments. I always mention employers' NI seperately when posting as for many it is a substantial cost (pushing 14%) which is often not known about or overlooked by fans. As for image rights in the Championship, I know of one player in the Championship, and there may well be others, who enjoys image right payments due to international recognition. As for my betting, I do not 'emblazon it over the board every match day'. Give me examples to back up your claim. As for being pissed off and down grading to a Bud, I can tell you I was delighted Rovers got a result and enjoyed an excellent white for a change! I don't mind being challenged but you really do need to get your facts right first before openly aiming to diss an individual.
