Can't confirm this but word among Man Utd supporters is that he's been told he'll have chronic problems for the rest of his life if he keeps playing so he's virtually done already. One person who seems to be close with the Academy there said the main reason he's being allowed to see out his contract is so he can be rehabbed for quality of life post-football rather than a return to play, with the club helping him get qualifications as he transitions to being part-time and then retiring at the end of the season, much like how they supported keeper Paul Woolston when injury forced him to retire. Shame to see such a promising career end the way it has, guy could have been one of the world's top defenders had injuries not completely disintegrated his knee. Maybe he'll get a job as a youth coach at United or Blackburn once he's got his qualifications?

I’m planning on travelling up from Scotland next year with my dad (born in Blackburn) and taking him to a game. I would ideally like to take him to Blackburn Burnley but not sure if I’ll be able to get tickets. Do these games usually sell out?

Seen this thread on another Football forum and decided to start it on here, just for fun. What are some weird feelings of football that you have, that aren't necessarily 100 percent true, but they seem that way? They can be Rovers related if you want, but can also extend to world football in general and apply to any era. The only rule is they can't be 100 percent true. Disclaimer: None of these statements are to be taken as facts. They are not factually true. Humour is the underlying theme of this thread. I'll start us off with some examples: 1) Brad Friedel never conceded a goal against Man United when playing for Rovers. 2) Matches at the Nou Camp can only be played at night. 3) Villarreal have had the same home kit for the past 18 years and have never had an away kit. 4) The Nigerian Men's football team ceased to exist after World Cup '98. Nobody knows what happened, but their last ever game on the International stage was the 4-1 defeat against Denmark in the last 16, in June 1998. 5) Edinson Cavani has never scored a goal, yet is viewed as being a lethal striker. I'm sure you'll be able to add a few more.

Bloody hell! Iranian footballer Amir Nasr-Azadani could face execution QATAR WORLD CUP 2022 According to 'Iranwire', Amir Nasr-Azadani (26) was sentenced to death for "treason" after showing his support for human rights and defending women's rights in his country. The international players' union Fifpro denounces the case: "We stand in solidarity with Amir and demand that his sentence be lifted immediately". Sign this petition for the Iranian regime to STOP the execution of footballer Amir Nasr-Azadani. https://chng.it/vC2fVkhz79

So I was wondering if people could help me out with something I'm writing. I'm curious how you celebrate your love for Rovers at home. Do you have an entire room decorated in Rovers gear? Do you just have a scarf hanging in the closet? Personally, I have a few scarves in my office hanging above my tapes. I'd like you to tell me a little something about how you've decorated, or what is Rovers that's important to you at home. Maybe share a picture of your collection. Also, if you have a lot of things, what's the one special piece that means the most to you?

Was talking to an Irish mate about Kevin. We agreed he was as hard as nails. He played a major role in getting Rovers out of what was the old second division. I think we all remember the goal against Derby in the play-off semi. For sheer bravery, it's difficult to match. I think he was one of those players that had great assurance in his play, you never worried about the man. Two points: - am I right in thinking that we signed him on a free transfer? If so, have we ever made a better free signing? And two, have we ever had a harder player? John McNamee perhaps?

Good day promotions chasing sexy Rovers fans! Yeap you read that right! I need some help. As we edge closer to the mini break at the end of November I am switching focus to World Cup content and I am looking for football (in a dream world Blackburn Rovers) fans from each of the nations taking part in this years tournament. I have managed to connect with a few, however struggling for some supporters from some of the more tricky nations. My aim is connect with REAL FANS from these nations and showcase their thoughts/dreams for Qatar 2022. All communication will be done digitally with occasional Zoom/video chats taking place throughout the tournament. If you are a fan from a nation taking part and would like to be part of the project please buzz me back! Help me BRFCS your my only hope! Regards, Dirk

Good morning. I’d like to ask for some advice please. I’m putting together a book – a photo-led nostalgia book, not entirely a history tome – about how grounds used to look in the black and white era before the Taylor Report swept away standing terraces. Ewood Park with its rich history will, of course, be featured heavily. The book (hopefully Vols 1, 2 and 3) will be a follow-up to my Lifted Over The Turnstiles 3-volume collection of books about Scottish football grounds: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=lifted+over+the+turnstiles&i=stripbooks&crid=1YPCRDC4130ZJ&sprefix=lifted+over+the+turnstiles%2Cstripbooks%2C57&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 Or Google “Lifted Over The Turnstiles Book”. I’m wondering if someone might give me a recommendation who to ask about good pix of Ewood? Are there club enthusiasts, historians, old press or private photographers, archives, or other sources you might point me towards? Ideally, I’d like pix of the ground’s terraces and stands empty, or on-pitch action with a good, illustrative view of terraces in the background. If possible. Old pix at high-resolution (screengrabs from websites don’t come up well in print). Preferably 50s, 60s, 70s — the way a supporter aged 60 to 80 will remember it. I am willing, of course to pay for copyright and will give credits in the book for the provenance of the photos. The aim is to celebrate the experiences of standing in a swaying, tight-packed, excited/angry/celebrating/commiserating/local-derby-fevered football crowd. It is a thing younger supporters will never have experienced. I still miss it. I want to do full and proper justice to Ewood. I can be contacted at stevefinan1963@gmail.com Many thanks. Steve Finan. Rovers have had a good start to the season, I must say. Long may it continue.

Here's a thread all about the new stuff we've added to BRFCS and we'll keep it up to date as we add more. So far we've added the following: Latest articles - a return of the news and opinion style articles BRFCS used to have back in the day. Struggling for something to discuss on the forum? Have a read of some of our articles and start yourself a new thread! Match Centre - All the stats, line ups, previous results and a timeline of the games major events. Man of the Match - Tired of Peter Jackson The Jewelers giving the award to the last person to score? Cast your vote via the "Ratings" section of the Match Centre Podcast - We've brought the Podcast episode list inside the main site so it's not on a seperate site. You can also subscribe to listen on Apple, Spotify and any good podcast app. 4000 Holes - The long running fanzine is now part of BRFCS and we continue to add more of your favourite & classic articles from the past. Ad-free Subscriptions - Ads are how we keep the lights on, but for those than don't like them we have the option to get rid of them, along with the occasional subscriber only giveaway. The new feature that's kicking this thread off is our new Prediction League, logged in forum members can predict the final score and first Rovers scorer. It's just for fun at the moment, but if we get chance we might find something to send to the winner.

Hey guys, I am a Master's student at the University of Brighton from South Korea. Being a female fan myself, through my thesis research I want to find out what can enable more male fans to live, breathe and sleep the women's games as much as you do for the men's games. I would really appreciate your quick minutes into the survey I designed for the research I am conducting. Survey Link: https://brighton.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/football_survey Thank you guys xx

Do you guys get to see any Rovers games on TV or is it just Rovers player (or whatever it’s called now). I’m in Washington DC for a week and Rovers are playing at Reading midweek when I’m there. Wondering what the chances of watching it in a pub over there are? I’m guessing slim to f all!

Last year my dad was diagnosed with Leukemia, he's as big a Rovers fan as you can meet. Long season ticket holder, been everywhere across the country, across Europe, was at Wembley for our promotion, at Anfield when we won the title, at Deepdale for promotion, at Cardiff for the league cup, at Doncaster aswell. Of course he's missed going to Ewood, especially with my 5 year old son who's started going regularly. Today he'll come back as the club have kindly put us in a box to watch today's game together at no added expense. This obviously keeps the risk down as we will be isolated from the crowds. I could have put this in the match thread but I wanted the club and those involved to get the credit it/they deserve for going out of their way to accommodate my dad and get him back to Ewood where he belongs. The main person to organise this was a lady called Christine, so special thanks to her. This is what football clubs are about, this what being a supporter is about. Hopefully they can pull out a good performance and result as the icing on the cake. Been a tough year but unimaginably tougher for him, things are looking promising and days like today are ones to savour and enjoy to the utmost. So... THANK YOU Rovers.
