  1. Past hour
  2. I think I agree with you there. I don’t see Ohashi having the required vision and passing ability to play in that role.
  3. Agreed, though a few Rangers fans seem very unsurprised with the complaints headed his way. He seems to need a lot of support to be able to excel. No wonder he's not getting it here.
  4. Exactly. I think what the reason is we think perhaps his talents on the ball could be utilised better and we should't be just relying on him every game to try and put in one killer pass. Hopefully a new coach recognises this.
  5. last season, they didn't make an announcement for a few days, but then posted something on the website If they do similar, we should hear Friday or Saturday this week
  6. A scapegoat is used to attribute blame for something going wrong. We won last night and people are still unhappy with Cantwell. Let's not be silly.
  7. Ah to be fair Joey, I think a lot of people could see Gudjonsen had the ability to link up play early doors. He was being asked to pursue the back line relentlessly and was just running himself into the ground. Jorgensen is showing similar signs of promise for me.
  8. Ive never ever understood why everyone doesnt do that as a matter of course. At least with 2. That then requires the opposition to leave 3 back. It's a pet hate of mine leaving no-one up at corners. So negative and just guarantees you're going to give the ball straight back or at best win a throw deep in your own half but keep yourself under pressure.
  9. Riquelme, Kante and Mane for me. Never seen them play and know sweet FA about them but I bet they are good ens
  10. Assuming Gestede takes weeks if not longer to find another manager Johnson has a big job to do and could make a difference, and Scott Wharton back and playing well (and not getting injured again) will help, but the lack of quality and Championship experience will tell in the end. I thought it looked a relegation line-up back in August and nothing has changed since. We are going down
  11. Doesn’t look like it. The EFL publish the lists within seven days of a window closing, whether the club will let us know sooner is anyone’s guess.
  12. Indeed. At best we get a Watford-esqe succession of foreign head coaches who want to get into English football and perhaps don't mind working under a structure like we are trying (and failing) to impose with recruitment handled upstairs. With such a model you get a new head coach every 12 months at best. More likely that they go for a cheaper option than that which is to give it to someone like Coleman who knows he won't get back into English football any other way than accepting what we are offering.
  13. I don't act like anything so don't be a slapped arse because your favourite is getting some stick. If he's so effective how come we aren't seeing anything come form it ? Nobody has questioned his effort but the salient point is he's too lightweight to do what he's being asked - or more likely demands - to do. He isn't Gazza he's a twig so why are they setting the team up for him to try and play like that ?
  14. No. What I mean is that a new manager needs to get our players to perform better, and for Cantwell, that would mean his general play must improve, AND that he produces passes like that. A good manager with a good team can help with that. Eustace had a great management team, and we should bring in someone who knows how to build a similar structure around our team.
  15. Any manager currently in employment (or with designs on gainful employment in the near future) will steer well clear of this club. In the past we could trick them by promising them a hands-off approach from the owners and a decent budget. We've proven that we're trying to operate with a mid-table L1 budget this season - and that appears to be only getting worse (once they get the likes of Tronstad, Cantwell et al off the wage bill). We're searching through the dregs of the unemployed managers.
  16. All last night confirmed to me is how nailed on for relegation we are. We struggled and lacked confidence at home against a broken Sheffield Wednesday side, playing kids who at times dominated the game. Everyone else will comfortably beat us.
  17. Ohashi can't pass, so how is he going to play in that role? You're essentially asking for 4-4-2 - which is fine, but don't dress is up as 4-2-3-1 etc as Ohashi is incapable of playing as an AMC.
  18. He had a load of strapping on his leg last time we saw him (when he was soldiering on playing upfront against two big CBs), so I suspect he's being rested / is injured.
  19. You act like he just stands around waiting for the ball to get to him. He runs his socks off and always shows for the ball. He put in multiple tackles yesterday too. I bet he won the ball back more than Baradji did last night (and that's not me slating Baradji - they just both play in midfield, hence the comparison).
  20. They had to submit the 25 man squad last night "Clubs must send in their final 25-man list to the EFL by 7pm on February 3rd. That can't be altered unless a team has vacant places, in which case free agents can be added." If they filled that then any free agents would have to be U21, which would make this your list to pick from (some of the 21 year olds may be unavailable depending upon when their birthdays fall)
  21. Please bring back Hedges so this message board has a worthy scapegoat again!
  22. Are we a team who can afford to carry one player in a system designed around him in return for one pass that carries a 25% chance of being converted into a goal ? There ca n be a place for him but he has to be a cog in the wheel because he isn't the engine that drives it but that's how they try to do it.
  23. You'll be seeing him in the stands sat next to Pasha and Rudy whilst Cookie is in the dug-out. They'll need to be giving out sick buckets with each ticket.
