I personally think it would be mad to drop Ohashi - he is the heart beat of everything up front. I'd start the same team as the last game. I think doing the same thing with Henricksson and Montgomery coming on for the last 30 mins is a good plan to persevere with as they offer the energy we need to see out games. Striker options are a real problem. Ismael needs to do something with Gueye - he can't just freeze him out when we have no one else. We need an alternative - Ohashi and Andri worked ceaselessly against Southampton but they will get injured if we ask them to do that every game for a full 90. Only other place to look is Tyjon who has barely made the bench. If Gueye is totally discounted by the manager then we need to see what he can offer.

Sheff Weds was a splintered fan base, make no mistake about that. The ousting has been swift compared to us, but when push came to shove, more fell on the Chansiri out side. Good luck to them. -

And it was all so predictable and avoidable if there was any brains inside there that finally wise up to how serious this issue is becoming. 'Oh they'll all come back when we start winning' 'Oh we wouldn't sell 20k if it was £150 etc etc so there is no point' Lame ignorant excuses. -

This thought had also crossed my mind. The only proviso I would make is that there is only so much advice you can pass on. At the end of the day being a natural goal scorer is imo a God given talent, you either have it like a Greaves, Owen, Fowler etc or you don't. Some basic stuff would help though, you need a genuine desire to frequently get into the areas from which you're more likely to score (a lot of modern day tactics go against this). The second thing is Alan Shearer used to admit he'd always take a swing from anywhere, you never know if the ball will go through a defender's legs or catch the keeper unawares etc. Most modern players won't shoot , it's almost like they're scared to risk "turning over possion" and are only happy to score the perfect goal from two yards out after a great team move. -

Ohashi absolutely doesn't deserve to start. He's missed so many chances this season, he's fluffed so many golden opportunities, just not up to it. Give Gueye a go with Gudjohnsen and use Ohashi as an impact sub. No good giving Gueye 4 minutes off the bench then ripping him a new one. A run of games is what he needs, massively positive character and has a bit of a relationship with the fans

A bit of fun! Rules of the game: Nominate a Rovers Classic or Cult Hero. Use either the first letter of the first name or surname from the previous poster! Post a picture of them too! examples: Georgios Donis the next post you could have Gary Flitcroft / Bradley Dack / Derek Fazackerley

Again,so many early references to our formation being 1874...they cant all be wrong. We started playing our first recorded matches in 1875 The article in 4000 Holes certainly does nothing to solve this mystery! What baffles me is why this has never,to the best of my knowledge, been challenged before.. One thing I do know for sure is the shysters and non- supporters ruining our club couldn't give a sniff either way.

Yes. As someone else said before - we can see who blinked first. Don't get that post from Jackson above stating he's been made Rovers manager. Is it a running of a Computer game? Either way its completely unfunny and sounds a bit desperate. On the bright side the LT site is now randomly allowing me to log in so I can use the comments section. That is if I've not already been barred for my opening response to RoverEnd who was praising RG to the rafters for saving the Club tens of millions of pounds in transfer fees and wages. -

That's what I think is most likely. Ed: I just checked and according two Wiki we're the probably 11th oldest club in England, we could be 10th but it's not clearly exactly when Big Club Birmingham were formed. So even if it became end of 1874, it would only make us the tenth oldest. We appear to have the 6th longest longevity in terms of names. We've only ever been Blackburn Rovers. Several of the 'older clubs' had completely different names or were repurposed cricket teams or shinney teams. We've always been BRFC, always been a football club. -

I dont really see the need for handwringing about whether we were formed in 1874 or 1875. At best it seems the first meeting of any sort took place between Christmas and New Year 1874 so there's only a few days difference. Just theorising here, could the initial meeting have led to an informal group gathering/playing together initially with the first formal meeting leading to Incorporation etc only taking place in November 1875?
