  1. Past hour
  2. He is maybe not quite at the level of a fully fit Pereira. & James Justin & Van Ewijk are on at least a similar level. But he is right up there
  3. I respectfully disagree with this. Had a great finish to last season, great going forward but thinks there’s a lot that are better than him. Seems to be injured a fair bit and average defensively. I honestly don’t think we will miss him much.
  4. I agree. Other members must get p1ssed-off with their antics but I will not sit back and allow them to post rubbish about me and make cretinous comments.
  5. So, with eight days to go before the start of the season we're five forward players down on what we had by the end of the January window. Not that there's any cause for concern or anything.
  6. I would estimate your hit record at a generous 2%. Not that it matters, by all means post your predictions and opinions as that is what keeps the messageboard going.
  7. A small positive then. Actually looking forward to seeing how the dynamics in this squad work. Could be good who knows!
  8. Brittain is the best RB in the championship.
  9. Especially if he is planning to return to Norway,
  10. Realistically, Tronstad doesn't have much of a transfer value given his age. It therefore makes sense to keep him for another year and I think that's what we will do. Trav, on the other hand, would command around a Β£3-4m fee and is clearly not signing a new contract so we have to cash in if a bid comes in near that price. He will want to go and earn more given this will be his last big pay day.
  11. I believe they are (why else the requirement to provide the info?).
  12. Did the same v Qatar We could at least have given them Pasha.
  13. But surely those League 1 seasons wouldnt be measured in the same Β£39m per 3 years framework? Similar to if a club has been in the Premier League where I think its Β£105m over 3 seasons. If a club has been in the Premier League twice and Championship once over 3 seasons, it would be Β£35m + Β£35m Β£13m = Β£83m permitted losses. Surely each year within the 3 comes under the FFP framework of the league they were in at the time.
  14. Huge surge of posts but nothing has actually happened.
  15. and a fair part of what I post turns out to be correct! What is the infamous Nicko's 'hit' record!? Name me a sporting journalist with even a 70% 'hit' record regarding manager and player movements? Jackson is our local journalist and I think you could count on one hand his exclusives since being in post. I said atm (at the moment) Derby were leading the way - I stand by that but as I have already pointed out, the Hackney money for Middlesbrough was a subsequent game changer. Is that so difficult for you to grasp and understand!? I don't profess to be an ITK. I merely post in good faith. If I hear something and I think it can be shared on a MB then I do - is that not part of what this MB is about! IF the game in the Netherlands had been posted on Twitter days before I posted then why did the likes of you, Chaddy or any other poster who uses Twitter on this MB not post about it - very unusual!?!? I posted about the Netherlands game on 20th July - copy and paste the Twitter post you claim (presumably Twitter posts are date stamped) to have seen "days before you (meaning my post) said". A common tactic of yours in trying to runbbish what I post - 'I've seen it elsewhere', how feckin sad. "Even if you arent on there, whoever told you probably saw it on there". How many feckin times do I need to say, I am not part of the Twatterati. For your information, I was told about the arranged match by a Rovers' employee.
  16. Not a clue mate, didn't give off MD vibes.
  17. Was it the MD. Martin you spoke with? No reason to make this more conspiracy then necessary.
  18. Can't say I know anything about Miller from Hibs, but on paper it seems like a decent signing. I just wish these deals weren't always just to replace an outgoing player, as it always feels like the club are just playing catch-up. Real shame to lose Brittain, who after an initial 18 months of being very inconsistent seemed to really kick on last year and became a key player, arguably the best RB in the league. The club have massively fumbled his contract, as I suspect they will for Travis and Tronstad as well. Notice how talk of Hyam signing a new deal has gone quiet again? He'll be another one that walks for nothing. I suppose at least the club are getting some money for Brittain. Hopefully Miller and Alebiosu are enough to cover the RB spot.
  19. For what it's worth, we spent the day in Haugesund yesterday and went up to the ground to have a look, they leave it open so tourists can have a walk in and sit in the main stand. The bloke working there noticed my lads rovers shirt and struck up conversation with us about Tronstad and how much he is loved there, they knew about his contract situation and seemed to think he will do one more year here before moving back, his wife still spends most of her time in Haugesund they were telling us.
  20. The Travis and Tronstad efforts will increase in the coming weeks once they've dealt with Brittain and got his money banked. Expect to hear more tales of 'unhappiness', wanting to move back to Norway, other clubs offering money we can't compete with etc. They've known for months that Brittain was off and I dare say have wanted this outcome, hence zero serious effort to renew his contract, as confirmed by Brittain in his press interview. The stunt with Nixon and Jackson, both fed by club insiders, claiming that a new deal was imminent another lie to dress it up as though Rovers are reluctant sellers and to keep the fanbase on side.
  21. It is measured the same way: Upon promotion clubs have to provide the relevant financial info for the promotion year plus the year prior to that. Those 2 years plus their first in the Championship = their first 3 year cycle.
  22. 1. Winners of the Championship The unpredictable Championship seemingly doesn't have a "wow" team this season, but on paper and with Keiran McKenna still as their manager, plus financial clout behind them, I'd be surprised if Ipswich Town don't win the league. 2. Automatic promotion (runners-up) in the Championship Premier League parachute payment team Southampton, though I'm pretty sure I said Luton Town in this spot last year 😁 3. Four Play off semi-finalists in the Championship Sheffield United, Leicester City, Coventry City (because aren't they always?) and Birmingham City. 4. Three relegated sides from the Championship Poor old Sheffield Wednesday (Chansiri OUT), Charlton Athletic (we all want Nathan Jones to go down don't we?) and Hull City. 5. Where will Rovers finish in the Championship? 16th 6. First Championship club to change manager (after the season starts) Paul Heckingbottom and Preston has never seemed a happy marriage 7. Winners of the Premier League Manchester City, Pep usually responds. 8. A notable wild card prediction of something that will happen in the Rovers universe during the season (e.g. Donald Trump visits Ewood Park) Rovers lose to John Eustaces Derby County a record six times in one season having drawn them in the League Cup, where Owen Beck pops up with the winner, at home in the league where Danny Batth scores in front of the Blackburn End, in the FA Cup where Andi Weimann comes off the bench to fire the Rams into Round 4, at Pride Park January signing Tyrhys Dolan scores against Rovers. Both teams reach the playoffs where Rovers once again are defeated by Eustace at Ewood and finally at Pride Park in the Semi FInal 2nd Leg where 84 year old George Courtney comes out of retirement to award the home side a penalty in stoppage time which is duly dispatched by Duncan McGuire. More seriously, the fans to put more effort into the 150th Anniversary than the club. Officially, it passes with a whimper.
  23. He's seems more ball carrier midfielder who goes box to box. None
  24. Im not sure exactly how it will work. But for the next 2 seasons they will still have a League 1 season in their 3 year FFP cycle so it wont be measured in the same way as a club that has spent 3 years in this league. I know League 1 clubs dont have the same Β£39m over 3 seasons of eligible losses framework. Birmingham spent loads in League 1 presumably taking advantage of that.
  25. He probably already knows he won't be offered anything beyond 12 months at a time so he's thinking ahead, i think that is closer to the truth.
