  1. Past hour
  2. No chance we get in two. Even if we do we’ll probably fail the paperwork because if we can’t sort that out at 11 pm, crikey I wonder what would happen at 7pm
  3. Don't think so. You can sign players outside the window who are free agents.
  4. Just looked him up. We paid Β£1.1m for him in 2011 when in the Premier League and he made 1 appearance before being loaned out in 2012 to Stevenage then Oldham/Rotherham/Ross County and Port Vale before having his contract terminated in 2015. Guess his agent would have been happy enough.
  5. I'm interested to see who goes out. Leonard sounds about done but Pears will be looking. Younger guys on loan have longer to make moves if I remember rightly.
  6. my predictions is for 2 signings tomorrow roll on 7pm
  7. Hopefully one more player on the pitch than last Saturday's second half! I'd move Cantwell back alongside Tronstad as Tavares has been absolutely woeful and figure out how to shuffle things around up top for Moroshita to start. Cantwell's fitness and willingness to get stuck in seems to have improved a lot. Anyone have any timeline on when Baradji will be fit, or failing that when we we will find out any info on his injury?
  8. Prediction for deadline day. No signings, the biggest news being Leonard being sold and one or two young lads like Batty going out on loan. A brief period where someone (probably Alan Nixon) links us to a deal that was never happening, the rumour lasts an hour or two before fizzling out.
  9. Remember when we gave Sheff U 1 million for a lad named Slew with the intention to loan him back but i think he ended up somewhere else but on a very good Rovers contract. Hmmm....
  10. Probably, the payroll includes more than players! The less the players are on, more of the cake for others possibly?
  11. I'm generally against filling up the squad with epl loan cast offs (I still get cold sweats thinking about Mola), but I'm supprised we haven't gone after 1 or 2 loans. A pacey winger or even a keeper so that Pears can be sold?
  12. Along the lines of St Andrews pre that takeover. Hadn't that place suffered from chronic under investment as well or something.
  13. Ok fair enough. Id still rather any available funding was put towards someone who can contribute now.
  14. Won't be the Darwen End for all those nice away fans.
  15. He is not good enough for the Championship now (in my opinion) * He is getting games at Wednesday due to their issues and them having lost half their squad without being able to replace them, not because he is currently a Championship standard player * He is only 20, not 21 until the season is over, & does have the potential to be a decent Championship player in the future
  16. I predict that within three years there will be at least one stand permanently closed.
  17. But if he's good enough for Wednesday in the Championship he must surely be good enough for us? And as others have said - we aren't Man City or Chelsea, we havent the luxury of buying players to loan them out, we need quality now.
  18. Knowing this lot they'll shut the BBE and send everybody to the riverside. They seem to be actively trying to reduce people buying tickets in there anyway.
  19. It’s kind of by accident but yes…it’s cleaner πŸ˜‰ @StubbsUK
  20. He seems to be developing well along the same lines Hayden Carter did. We might have a gem on our hands after all.
  21. Today
  22. He'd be behind Ohashi, Gudjohnson and Gueye for us (in theory), for his development he needs regular gametime.
  23. Yep, we arent in a position to spend a reasonable fee on players to be immediately loaned out. I really hope (but doubt) that we are trying to shift Gueye however possible. And someone like Cadamarteri might be good to push Ohashi and Gudjohnsen. But we need a central midfielder, goalkeeper and winger more urgently than a striker.
  24. Agreed. It would be absolutely nonsensical to buy someone and loan them straight back out again. We need players now.
  25. I'd rather buy Cadamarteri and have him around the squad this year. He'll get a lot of minutes if he's any good.
  26. Don't know how often it needs repeating and loath as I am to defend VI, they haven't really given him anything. He's had to generate his own transfer funding. It's a nil net spend on transfer fees and presumably big savings on wages. This wasn't the case of one marquee player leaving for a huge sum as in the past, including departing loanees we've lost at least a dozen first X1 players or squad members most of whom needed replacing numbers wise otherwise we'd have been struggling to put a side out.
  27. Which is why ideally we'd bring another winger in, but we won't. We can't be happy with Hedges starting games. Kargbo is better suited to being an impact sub and, as he's clearly carrying an injury right now, it benefits him to limit his minutes anyway.
