  1. Past hour
  2. It probably wouldn't even cost too much to come to terms on paying his contract up so he can move back to France
  3. I think you are getting Mowbray and Mani mixed up.
  4. They should be doing everything they can to move on Mafoumbi. Complete waste of a ESC place.
  5. That's a real shame! Was hoping we would bring in a foreign winger...Looks like it'll be a prem loan there then.
  6. Darren Fletcher who played for Man Utd had it too. He would do yes.
  7. In the same way that it "kind of worked" at Southampton because they went up through the play offs (completely ignoring that with their budget, that was the bare minimum that they should expect), and that lead to multiple pundits claiming that he is the second coming of Pep, it will probably "kind of work" at Rangers and they will qualify for the Champions League (in 2nd place), again because of a giant budget compared to most of their rivals and he will by the end of the season be lauded as a genius by the idiots in the press
  8. Henriksson's agency also have Mario Balotelli on their books, might as well ask if he fancies another year in England too as he's in need of a club 😎 They do actually also have Seydou Fini on their books perhaps more realistically, fits our requirements perfectly. Currently at Genoa but been loaned out the past 2 seasons. A bit similar to Kargbo just on the right. Only 19, nippy, skillful, high resale potential, boxes being ticked right.... But Just noticed he's already been linked with a few other clubs so chances are slim 🥲
  9. Today
  10. Just a shame our set pieces are dog shit or we'd have some good targets to aim for with all the height
  11. No, amateurs would make sure there was some good preparation for the game. This is the usual contempt and distain that has been shown towards the club for the last 15 years.
  12. And when it doesn't work (again) he'll steadfastly refuse to bow to demands to vary his style of play.
  13. Pity you weren't playing then. From the sounds of it it bothered the senior pro's like Travis and Tronstad.
  14. Surely if nothing else, behaving and preparing for a match in such tin pot and amateurish fashion is a sure fire recipe for the players picking up muscular and hamstring strains and injuries?
  15. I've mainly seen him for my own club in Oz (CCM) and also for the NT - where he scares the bejesus out of me with his rash defensive choices. But I watched as much as I could of him at Hibs - seems to have been more disciplined at RCB but can be a bombscare at RB or RWB. Talented going forward though and dangerous around the final third - which you'd see less of if he played RCB.
  16. Even if they'd have picked the best players instead of the ones that played for the 'biggest' clubs.
  17. I would swap with them any time anywhere.
  18. He could have a squad featuring Pele, Maradona, Messi, both Ronaldos, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Lev Yashin, Pirlo, Alan Shearer, Zidane, Henry and George Best and this statement would still be true. The guy is an absolute screaming cock and balls but is obviously a fucking genius as he keeps convincing people to give him a job as a football manager.
  19. That's every year TBF.
  20. I'm getting confused about Miller. I keep hearing and seeing different things. The only highlights reel I saw showed him to be pretty handy going forward, especially dribbling, but didn't really show defensive stuff. Then all the noise from the Hibs side was that he wasn't a very good RB as he wasn't good going forward, but was ace when moved into CB. Now what you're saying more lines up with my initial impressions. The only consistency seems to be he is big, strong and athletic.
  21. A little info on Miller for you... Excellent athlete, very strong, good in the air, good on the ball and good going forward. Can hit a decent cross and has a very dangerous long throw. Gets the occasional goal from set pieces. On the down side, he can make rash decisions and tends to lose his man in defence. I'm hoping the Championship will teach him discipline in defence. If so, you've got a cracking player on your hands. If not, he's a surly liability.
  22. I actually have more reservations about him having crohn's than I did about Baradji's alleged foot fracture. It's not something that is likely to go away, whereas I don't know a lot of players with repeatedly recurring fractures. I also think I preferred Baradji's reel, though that's obviously not the be all and end all. RF99 raises a very good point, with all these tall lads we need some set piece delivery quality. Miller sorts out long throws but we don't have much in the way of corner or free kick delivery going on. Though tbh we have signed numerous players over the years who were meant to be good at set pieces and didn't put much quality in. I seem to remember Pickering being touted as one. Wasn't Cantwell meant to be? Maybe we were all just spoilt by Mulgrew in our expectations.
  23. This Henriksson similar to a few of our signings seems to have a mixture of things to be positive out and potential concerns in equal measure. His goal record is really promising, hes of a good age, hes tall, and from the very few comments I have seen from fans of his club say positive things about him. He also seems to be more attacking than Baradji. Obviously the main question is again adaptation to the league and how his performances in a weaker league will translate. Availability is also a concern, espcially considering his chrons and how that will affect things. Less of a concern and more of a question, I also do wonder how he will fit in and which position (deeper or behind the striker) he is being earmarked for as he seems to be inbetween those. The key is still to bring in attacking players. Going into the season having not done so especially wide right is not good.
  24. There does seem to be a pattern of us targetting not only players based on their physicality but tall players. I am not sure how much threat they will offer at set pieces, for example McLoughlin didnt score in 6 years at Hull, but we will see. But for them to do so here, one thing we really are lacking in the squad is a set piece taker. Amidst talk of whether we are covered in each position, its a skill thats been neglected. I really think it should be a key skill we bring in this window.
  25. Yesterday
  26. Seems like another young tall athletic type, that looks to be the criteria. Does this take up our final ESC spot? With another midfielder coming in, it really does leave you scratching your head at the Forshaw signing. One things for sure, the average height of the team is surely going to be taller. Miller, Henrikson and Tavares all 6ft 2.
  27. I'm pretty sure the players who travelled today aren't too happy about it. To gather 6AM in the morning at Brockhall, presumably go by train or coach to Manchester Airport (1 hour), take flight to Amsterdam (1h 20 min), and finally travel by coach to Nijmegen (2 hours). Posters on here say they arrived by coach to the stadium around one hour before kickoff; not ideal at all from an injury-risk perspective as they would have limited time for any warm-up. After the game, they take the coach straight back to Amsterdam and later depart for Manchester or Blackpool. Players will have spent at least 8 hours travelling back and forth today and were most likely exhausted when they finally got back home around 10-11 PM; can't really say this was a 'friendly' treatment towards them.
