  1. Past hour
  2. A good crowd helps and is a better experience for everyone including the players but don't expect more than 10k bums on home seats for this plus whatever they bring. Makes not a lot of difference to what happens on the pitch with our players and gaffer though. Except providing them with another weak excuse and deflection tactic in interviews. Sheff Weds get about 20k ish home fans who tend to be more vocal than an Ewood crowd these days but they are still shite because their team isn't strong enough. Ditto here.
  3. Julia Jacklin - Be Careful With Yourself
  4. I'd imagine you have to apply that guideline on the assumption all players are of equal ability. You can't award a red if it's Messi going through and a yellow if it's Gueye. Opinions will presumably vary greatly on what constitutes an "obvious goalscoring opportunity" though. If you pull the incident last night back to the half way line would it still be one? Id say not but people might disagree.
  5. I don't know if you should have out an emoji after that but it's about the denial of the opportunity, not the players ability.
  6. So no red card if the player was Makhtar Gueye and not Morishita ?
  7. Touché for editing his finger lmao
  8. You may not see this if Im already on ignore but for me he definitely got the first one wrong. The attacking player is heading into the corner anyway and arguably it's not even a foul he appears to trip over his own feet. Not sure on how getting the first one wrong has any bearing on whether last night's decision was right or not.
  9. Some of you really need to take the blue n white specs off, morishita was a fair way out from the goal- difference between that other clip of the Luton player, plus Davies was covering, who is quick and morishita not so quick there is every chance he wins the ball before morishita even touches it, another point, the ball is bouncing over his head, at no point does he have it under control and finally the defender makes no motion to clip morishita, he gets tangled in his legs, a red would def be harsh. Iv seen them given and I agree the standard of refs in the league and particularly this season have been horrific but this is not one we can feel hard done by. I want to win fair and we would have done but for silly subs, game management and lack of concentration, that’s what we should be annoyed at not a non red
  10. Haha Haha exactly he has the list now! He will keep waving it and only add to it
  11. Or Gerald Ashby on behalf of Man Ure when he awarded a penalty and sent Berg off here.
  12. Are refs any worse these days than that George Courtney display at Selhurst Park? I'm not so sure about that!
  13. If called up he must also be a doubt for the Wrexham game on New Year’s Day. His last group game is 4pm on 30/12 and the Wrexham game is at 12.30. Should Nigeria go all the way he would also miss games against Charlton and Ipswich and the FA Cup 3rd round. Looking at betting odds Nigeria are odds on to win their group and 7/4 to make the semi finals.
  14. Nearly spat out my afternoon cucumber sandwiches 😉
  15. Today
  16. I give up, you being objective on a manager you have never liked and have been really critical of. Do me a favour. I don't agree with the majority of your posts so I'll take your advice and put you on ignore.
  17. This idea that reffing was better in the past is curious. Pundits, managers, fans have always moaned about decisions. VAR was introduced because of all the technology available to fans in the ground and on TV. It was easy to instantly see if a mistake was made. So VAR is an attempt to protect refs from making mistakes we can all see. Of course, we all know that VAR may help in some instances but can make things even more difficult. Ever watched a replay loads of times (as experts do in TV studios) and still not sure? Someone has to make the call. It was the Thierry Henry handball that tipped us into VAR. Perhaps we should have VAR in our league 😉 Wouldn’t that be fun? Would we have got a pen last night? I get the laugh and joke refs of previous generations who had leeway and a ‘feel’ for the game. But they made crap decisions too and had favourites. Bryan Robson cleaning out opponents, injuring himself in the tackle only for the ref to waddle over and ask ‘Are you ok Bryan?’ We could go back to that, but I guarantee that there will still be an outcry up and down the land at ‘outrageous decisions’ given by refs. I get the fact that reffing has become somewhat robotic or officious. But then, if refs started doing their own thing more, you can bet the ‘consistency’ word would crop up repeatedly. Not suggesting all is hunky dory but after each initiative protests still occur. Incidentally, just to make the blood boil, possibility of VAR for corners and yellow cards. Throw ins next? 😉 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c62lgler7rlo Maybe we should have a reffing thread. Could be lively.
  18. I'd like to think that the majority are fair minded and balanced in their observations. 😉
  19. For me i really rate McCloughlin. A good addition marshaling Pratt and Miller, and gets his blocks in and physically competes, and is good getting the ball out. Made a couple of errors early on but very solid recently. Gudjonsen I have problems with in terms of offering enough in pressing and holding the ball up, but he is intelligent in his movement and getting goals. Miller is hot and cold, but happy enough with him. Mori I am seeing a big improvement over the last few games. Has a bit of quality which we need, and not getting blown off the ball like he was a month ago. Forshaw showing he can do that holding role well is a big gain as we can take some of the pressure off Tronstad, but agree its not ideal he can't do more than 60 mins. TGH I think has done really well. Dont really miss Travis he is so similar. Overall I am feeling much more positive about our midfield and defence than a month ago. Derby completely owned us, and other big physical sides (of which there seem to be remarkably few) will hurt us. But outside of that we seem more capable than I anticipated given the turnover.
  20. Whatever the outcome, something will happen at some point during the game that he'll latch onto as an excuse.
  21. Lets see him try and cover up not getting three points come Saturday!!☺️
  22. I'd add the Portsmouth away game in with those, 7 points minimally needed from the next 3 games
  23. The next two home games are 6 pointers, fail to win these, and we're in deep trouble. You can count on this team to fail.
  24. Completely agree. We're singing from the same hymn sheet. A couple of things went against us that might have gone the other way but this non stop assassination of referees and the bizarre notion that there's some sort of conspiracy against us or that it only happens to us, is frankly ridiculous and embarrassing. It's one thing for supporters who are naturally going to be biased to be saying it - for our Head Coach - dear me.
