  1. Past hour
  2. Then they can reappoint Pereira to save them again. Rinse and repeat, and keep that precious Premier Legaue money forever more.
  3. Hes not the same type of player, nor is he close to the same quality. He lacks Tronstad's ability to screen the defence, you saw that at the weekend when he just totally switched off at one point, stood still and a runner just ran off him so easily. He also isnt as good on the ball. And then who will replace TGH?
  4. I watched/listened to Carrick on MOTD last night, talk about talking for the sake of talking and saying nowt!
  5. Listening to the voices in his head.
  6. I look at it like this - is he better than the player he’s replacing ? Is he better than Travis ? - no, in my opinion. Is he better than Tronstad, even allowing for the fact Tronstad isn’t at his best ? - no, in my opinion. How you get up this league is replacing existing players with better players, not players that are worse. It can be done, even at Rovers. It’s looking like we’ve replaced Brittain with a better all round player
  7. Interesting take. What makes you so sure?
  8. Initially, probably Tavares, "our player", "has had a year to adapt" etc will be the terms for that one Based on pre/early season, Montgomery was earmarked for the role of cover this season, until the Bradford cup game prompted a rethink as to how ready Montgomery/Tyjon/Michalski are. TGH was then brought in after that, but promoting the youth will be revisited next summer Leaving next seasons midfield options (*) as Baradji, Tavares, Montgomery & Forshaw/Isaac Dunn/James Edmondson. If Baradji doesn't work out or if Forshaws legs actually fall off then Rovers may look at another, who will be a cheap buy from overseas * not counting Cantwell, who I also expect to leave next summer, or Henriksen/Morishita, who will no doubt be seen as his replacement
  9. What about replacing Tronstad when he leaves at end of the season. TGH will replace him permanently
  10. I agree with most of what you’ve posted but 4 for Wharton ? I’d reserve that for a really disastrous performance in a hammering. Hyam at Bristol City springs to mind. We won 2-0 on Saturday with a decent performance from the team.
  11. I’d be hoping for player that is better myself. If we have any ambition at all . If we intend to hang around the bottom third of the table for ever he’d do. That’s his level.
  12. ‘Different era’, ‘different times’. Indeed, I mean Zeefuik was a last minute loan for a club with no intention to achieve anything, whereas now… oh.
  13. He was also essentially a stop gap to fill in for Baradji until he is fit, so assuming Baradji goes to plan, gets fit, and is good (lots of ifs), TGH is theoretically just backup Regardless of how Baradji does, TGH will be sent back at the end of his loan, Montgomery will be given a new contract (on considerably less than what TGH would require) and touted the solution to our midfield and right back cover issues with terms such as "academy minutes", "player pathways" etc being spouted
  14. Knows the club, though!
  15. Also beat them 2-0 under Lambert in December 2015, Hanley and Marshall the scorers.
  16. Cantwell is out until after the international break anyway so we dont know if it will be a winning side.
  17. Hes been ok without standing out, hes had a mixture of good and poor games. I think its a bit early to decide and obviously would depend on the fee and wages included in any option to buy.
  18. I remember beating them under Mowbray when Bradley Johnson and Adam Armstrong scored too.
  19. Today
  20. But he had never had any actual affiliation with the club. He didnt "know the club" based on the point I am making about this need to prioritise someone who has played for or managed a club prior. He didnt win all them trophies because he had been a fan as a kid. On a lesser note, Steven Gerrard had no affiliation with Rangers before he won the league there but their fans seem to love him now and seemingly wanted him back.
  21. Based on the wages Birmingham have been paying since their new owners took control Rather than "big wages", maybe the term should have been "bigger wages than what Rovers currently pay"
  22. Different era different times. I think TGH will sign here permanent
  23. That was actually a great day. I went to Ashton Gate for that one, and a few defeats since. I'll be there tomorrow but in a home fans section. Trying to rehearse my poker face for if Rovers score. Unsure if this is a skill I will actually require...!
  24. Its hard to see based on his career to date why he would be on big wages? Id definitely buy him if we can make it work financially. Not the finished article but decent.
  25. We had a €4M option to make Zeefuik's loan permanent, there was never an intention to take that up either, sometimes clauses get added at the insistence of one party "just in case"
  26. They are singing 'Montgomery, I like it' to the tune of That's the Way I Like It by KC and The Sunshine Band. It really caught on at Leicester and improved the atmosphere.
