Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
chaddyrovers replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Ismael has clearly had a massive say in building this squad with Gestede, Owen and the scouts. That was dumb move with Carter. Extra centre defender should have be signed before allowing Hyam to move on. is our training ground facilities been neglected? You could have said say the same last season or previous seasons when the head coach wouldn't have rotation the squad as much as the should especially in cup games -
Todd Cantwell - is he off?
wilsdenrover replied to ruggles1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Being in denial would have the same effect. -

well I suggest you blame the Walker trust and family for selling the club to them. We have a board of directors. Its 3 people.

How long until the end of Venkys?
philipl replied to ilian22's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The Walker Family was at war with each and against their advisors in the High Court. Rovers were just a cash absorbing chattel to the family members. Some Trustees. John Williams and Tom Finn were absolute heroes in those sad circumstances but any concept of strategic thinking and planning was totally binned in those black days. -

Well it hasn't impact them enough to sell the club has it. That's my point -
Charlton Athletic Home 4th January 15.00
RTM08 replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Charlton steamrolled us because of their direct, strong football and we had barely a shot at The Valley. Our squad has no energy and are going to get flattened. Rovers 0-3 Charlton -
Todd Cantwell - is he off?
Mattyblue replied to ruggles1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think they are journeymen cloggers as I still have expectations that first choice players for Blackburn Rovers should be better than the likes of them, others obviously don’t, but I suppose that’s what watching fifteen years of rubbish does -
The irony of chaddy warning us that we could get poor owners when we have one of the worst owners in English football

Todd Cantwell - is he off?
RTM08 replied to ruggles1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Well we don't create anything at and we sit back passing it around our own half all the time. No point playing wing backs if they're always in a defensive position. On the CDM's, if we're not someone needs to tell Baradji and Cantwell because they're always positioned 6 feet from the back 3. In fact you could argue we play 3 CDM's on how little time they spend out ofnour half. -

before yesterday game we have the 6th best defensive record in the league would suggest they are better than you say they are -

Injuries have cost us this season to key players. I think 3 or 4 signings is what we need and stay up, then re-asses everything in the summer. the summer window is a much better one is get rid of players we don't want then this window. -
So here we are less than 50 hours from a home game at the end of the New Year holidays and no thread. The Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday "performances" were so bad the Blackburn jury has rung in sick - or is too apathetic to even pick up the mobile. After showing signs of life, Rovers have turned in two absolute horror shows of no energy rubbish rivalled only by the horror show offered up in the 3-0 defeat at.. Charlton. After being depressed beyond description I ventured to watch the second half of Charlton v Coventry and to depress us even further, Charlton should have got a similar scoreline in their favour as they did against us. Coventry got very lucky as Charlton overran them in the way they did to us at the Valley early in the season. Having said that, Kaminsky was outstanding the couple of times he needed to be involved (twice more than against us), Ama'ari Bell was a rock against Hadji Wright and Sims while MoM and goal scorer was JRC who had the sort of sensational game he used to have for us every so often. Oh boy, are we going to have our transfer dealings rubbed into the Ewood mud on Sunday! Impossible to see anything except a really humiliating defeat.

The January 2026 Transfer Window
DE. replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yeah, he's their best player by some distance. Tavares is not comparable in any way. Will Lankshear has been decent for them on loan from Spurs as well. -

And some bad ones. Any kit where the colours aren’t reversed, can be a good one -
The January 2026 Transfer Window
JHRover replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm convinced that one of the main reasons for Gestede getting the job he has is that he has sold himself to the Indians / goon in the shadows as someone who has extensive knowledge and contacts and that by avoiding the loan market we will develop assets on the cheap which will make them more money. Or alternatively that they have given him the job and instructed him to do this rather than the past approach of going to Brighton/Liverpool etc. and begging for players. All comes back to them trying to impress the higher ups and keep their jobs on the gravy train - Alebiosu working out well and Gudjohnsen too so a sale of one or both for a good profit keeps the money men happy -

Mattyblue replied to ruggles1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If you think two cloggers like Miller and McLoughlin are good players then yes, it’s a question of standards. -
Todd Cantwell - is he off?
chaddyrovers replied to ruggles1995's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yes. Gestede, Conway, Cairney signing here permanently under Bowyer's first season. Also the season, we got promotion from league 1 under Mowbray -

before yesterday game we have the 6th best defensive record in the league. How is playing at 3 back negative? and we don't play with 2 DM's. Tronstad plays the DM and Baradji and Cantwell play the box to box roles. more bollocks about standards. The 6th best defensive record in the league before yesterday game, how that for standard argument you make? We need another forward signing for sure, that would add as would some creatively in midfield as well would help this team -

Do you recall a time, under Venkys, where the January window has produced the outcome you describe above?
-
How long until the end of Venkys?
Dreams of 1995 replied to ilian22's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Of course it has impacted them It has meant half a billion less revenue, which has meant a decreased on pitch product and over a decade of mismanagement, culminating in some very embarrassing moments for Rovers During that time, a certain few people have continued to pocket 6 figure yearly salaries. It pays well to manage a decline -
I don't care 'what type' of owner we get, as long as it isn't Venkys there's a very strong chance the club will benefit from it. 'Proper checks' - those being the same that allowed Venkys to get hold of this institution and destroy it in the first place and ever since has offered no protection whatsoever despite continued neglect and ruin? Checks such as allowing us to operate without a board of directors, without a Chief Executive, relying on silent Bob to provide a façade of normality, allowing shadowy characters to run the club from the background? Checks are a waste of time and guarantee nothing. This is a club with a serious and probably terminal illness. It needs urgent surgery/medication to remove the cause of that illness. That's the point we are at. Failure to address the illness will probably mean the death of BRFC. We can worry about what comes next when it actually arrives. And if the next lot are awful too then we'll deal with that issue when it comes. Would you turn down live saving surgery on the basis you weren't sure how you would feel afterwards? Because that's the equivalent here. Stick with Venkys and enjoy the ride to oblivion because you 'aren't sure' 'what sort' of owner 'might' replace them. There are two issues. Getting the club wreckers out asap, and then worrying about what comes next. The first part is non-negotiable as far as I and most sensible people are concerned - it has to happen and as soon as possible whilst there is still some semblance of a club left to recover. Part two is something that can only happen and be worried about once part one has happened.
