  1. Past hour
  2. Can you post Cantwell's statement for me, in full, with a link. To my recollection he said something along the lines of "there are rumours which are false", he did not go into any clear specific's Bennetts was an extended contract, but that also comes with financial tie ins, so in my book is similar to the other two
  3. Cantwell's statement was very clear and to the point. Point A and B are possibilities of course but so us that Cantwell's injury problems need that period of time to recover. Also he wanted to be right injury wise. He isn't starting but we are slowly introducing him after injury On Bennett point, wasnt it a new contract after so many starts with him?.
  4. It depends what part of the speculation/conspiracy we are actually talking about a - That at 50 league appearances, Rovers are due to pay a fee to Rangers b - That at 50 league appearances, Cantwell is due a pay rise/bonus payment c - That one or both of the above is true and Rovers did not want to stump up the cash d - That the injury to Cantwell was either completely untrue or overexaggerated so that he could be sold before he reaches that appearance threshold & Rovers had to stump up the cash e - That a sale has already been agreed Personally, I would find both a & b to be very believable to the point of at least one of them being highly likely, and we have seen before under these owners, (Salgado & Nelson come to mind. Elliott Bennett stated similar in a recent interview), that they have simply not played players due to financial reasons, so I do not see how anyone can get upset about people speculating based on prior events with the same owners Edit - Herb - I presume you mean given Cantwell's injury? If so, then when did Spurs give an "injured" Ryan Nelson a nice Premier League contract and salary when he joined them from us? I am aware that there was no fee, but they still would have parted with money for Nelsons wages & signing on fee Chaddy - which part was Cantwell debunking? He never referenced any specifics, although if he did, then please can someone feel fere to post the link to that for me please as I have missed that
  5. speculation from where? who has said this is the case or even the possible on this? is this conspiracy theory from some? We have had Cantwell's comments on this issue and he made them through his own means, so should we not believe him?
  6. I’d be surprised if someone would pay good money for him TBH.
  7. Today
  8. Starts on Wednesday for Edmondson - drew 1-1 - withdrawn on 75 minutes whilst 1-0 down Not involved in matchday squad Olson & O'Grady-Macken - lost 1-0 Boggan - won 3-0 - this will be his final game unless his loan is extended
  9. Can't blame folks for having pause though.
  10. I would be surprised if the first team came in to play a friendly today, the day after a first team match.
  11. Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb on the conspiracy theory front. Cantwell now on 45 League appearances. 4 more takes us right to the end of December. The 50th if he doesnt miss any inbetween, would be Wrexham on New Years Day. It couldn't happen again could it, mysteriously absent again in January before being sold?
  12. If Suhail is still around? Of course he will. He is bullet proof. He is a snake who has been attached to Venkys all this time. We could get a brilliant CEO and he would be set up to fail here. Would be like appointing Pep Guardiola as assistant manager to Steve Kean.
  13. Ah yes, someone prepared to be a willing patsy for allegedly going rogue for the purposes of a Court case (and then not being sacked) Bit like Broughton taking the blame for catastrophic happenings (and then not getting sacked)
  14. Take it they don't mean one of their own, Pratt, so who are they including in that - Miller/Mclaughlin/De Neve/Ribeiro? Surely they dont mean Alebiosu either?
  15. Injuries, the atmosphere at Ewood......
  16. We had managing director in Derek Shaw for a number of those 7 years tho.
  17. Yesterday
  18. No indication from Nicko's piece that anything has changed and that that the new appointment wouldnt still be purely ceremonial. After the debacle of the pitch fiasco, they just want someone to cop the flak the next time the **** hits the fan. Which probably won't be very long.
  19. The fact that for the first 7 years of their ownership and for the last 7 months they haven't had any CEO tells us everything. Things only ever happen either when the pressure/relegation threat starts to get significant (Paul Senior, Coyle fired, Mowbray comes in) or when someone gets out to India and has a word. Route one of that is happening right now just as it did in 2016/17 so expect to see more of this for keeping up appearances.
  20. Depends if he is still around. The quality of appointment will tell us everything. That's was my overall point,
  21. You can only say the Cantwell thing is bollocks if he's still here after the January transfer window closes. The speculation about whether he might have an add on clause in his contract after 50 games is slightly different, may or may not be correct, but those including myself who flagged it up as a possibility acknowledged it as such. Id personally stilĺ be surprised if he's here in February.
  22. Well both postponements were all over Sky Sports and football channels/twitter with lots of people questioning why it has happened not once but twice, and apparently the EFL are investigating. This is the sort of heat the shadow dwellers at Ewood don't like - questions and pressure from outside disturbing their comfy existence - and probably the only coverage that risks getting back to India HQ and some questions being asked. Best way to head it off is to drip a few bits to the friendly reporter and nip it in the bud
  23. Heard some interesting stuff from a trusted ITK tonight on the going on down at Brockhall - it may be known to some on here so apologies if that's the case. First team played the u21s in a behind closed doors friendly and lost 7-0....yes 7-0. Ribeiro went over the top on one of the youngsters with a late challenge and ended up gripping the young lad even though it was he who was being a nob. All food in the canteen is now halal and this has not gone down well. None of the current 1st team backline are rated by any of the under 21s or the non first team coaches - especially the new recruits.
  24. More window dressing to come then. Panic stations with the humiliation of the pitch and stadium making national news. Solution - invest serious money in sorting the issue out? Oh no But drip a couple of tales to Nixon about spending money in January, looking for a new CEO and getting advice from the Man City/Man Utd consultants - costs nothing but keeps them quiet for a few months.
