  1. Past hour
  2. Derek Williams was mediocre. Martin Olsson and Gael Givet were streets ahead of Beck.
  3. Would’ve been in for windass as I mentioned earlier in the thread, but looks like he has decent options elsewhere
  4. The point I’m making is you don’t need to watch a player for 20 games to know whether they’re a good ‘un or not. If Beck can get over that injury he suffered at Rovers he’ll go on to be a Premier League player. Maybe not at Liverpool but certainly at another Premier League club.
  5. What has happened since is irrelevant to replacing what Dolan provided last season. But I very much doubt that Dolan is just sat around with absolutely no offers or interest. If we signed a winger that had done what Dolan did from another Championship club. Or even one with a fancy exotic name who has provided a similar number of goals and assists in a lesser league. We would be excited.
  6. The hole in the argument is that they're unwilling to spend money so he'll play by default rather than by some grand design.
  7. Derick Williams lol, bloke had a 50p heed, frustrated the hell put me when he wasted good chances as he couldn’t head for toffee. He wasn’t very good. His move to the mls confirmed that
  8. Again, you arent reading what I am putting. How is it negative? Thats what I asked. Wharton had long periods of not playing in his first season but he is a freak, a special talent. Raya had 3 seasons where he only played very occasionally and a loan spell before he broke in. And now Buckley has appeared as if he is a success story and hasnt just been a waste of a wage for about 3 or 4 seasons. I know we dont know if he is physically capable. If we dont sign another number 10 (is he even naturally a number 10 anyway?) and he comes in and cant cope physically, then what? He has picked up a number of injuries in youth football so its hardly out of the question, if we dont sign anyone then we are a Cantwell injury away from him having to play game after game and its unfair on him to expect so much. I am not saying never play him. If he shows when he does play (good opportunity in the cup for him initially) that he is ready now, then by all means the shirt is his and he can be really fasttracked. Its not a case of, if we sign someone, he never plays. Equally, even if he is ready, he likely will have a dip at some point. Wharton was taken out for a while. That way, we can do that. I dont feel comfortable putting all our eggs in the Tyjon basket so soon, partially because its unfair on him. Maybe even sign someone that can also play wide (or even deeper) so if Tyjon is ready, then theres scope for both potentially. And I would also like him to actually commit to a new deal (knowing the plan) before we invest this time in him.
  9. Hell, Marcus was immense too when he seemingly suddenly broke through, winning player of the season in 14-15. Both Olssons still playing in the Allsvenskan.
  10. Can see us getting Luca Stephenson on loan from Liverpool. Similar development path Beck followed and can play full back and in the middle
  11. put the spade away, that hole is getting bigger by the minute i was told by someone close to the club that he was shocking, maybe after getting a few weeks training in,he`s getting his touch back
  12. Streaming pass now available for the two Spain friendlies, as well as the Championship season pass for international fans Edit: Not clear if the former is included in the latter, but I'd suppose not
  13. I’d rather have my opinion over a player who has played over 100 games for rovers with a player of the season to his collection also than somebody with potential but a poor injury record for us wasn’t it you last week said you heard noises from brockhall that de neve was terrible in training couldn’t do drills and had an awful touch - yea after you posted that there’s absolutely nothing from your account that can be taken seriously
  14. So you suggest giving him game time, potentially costing us points, and hoping it convinces him to sign, rather than boosting his profile, attracting the big fish even more, resulting in him buggering off ASAP like Finneran and Phillips? Truthfully we don't have a great hit rate with this. I'd want him to sign before I give him any guarantees of playing time (and tell him he'll get game time if he signs it). Once he's securely our asset for the next 3+ years I'm happy to give him extra game time to develop him. Until then I'd only want to play him when the situation merits it purely on his current playing ability.
  15. They have two left backs Robertson and tsimikas 31 / 29 hardly stacked - listen I think beck can go on to be a very good player but to be made out on this forum he’s something he isn’t is baffling to me he missed 20 games through injury last season started 22 and sub 2
  16. ‘Fuck off Derrick’ Still a classic!
  17. you lost the debate as soon as you mentioned derrick williams being better than beck🤣hard to take you seriously after that🤣
  18. Being even clearer some lads develop at different speeds and Liverpool might be well stoked through the ranks in his position whereas other positions might suddenly have a vacancy on the conveyor belt.
  19. And if we don't give him game time and he won't sign. He is good talent and prospect, and we need to develop him and hopefully that will convince him to sign here a new contract
  20. If he isn't going to agree to sign and earn his corn here then get rid. Giving a kid mins for the sake of it just so he can impress potential suitors to snap him up for a bargain not only might hamper the team if he doesn't hit the standard it also isn't fair on lads who are here for the long run. Can't have unproven kids with a bit of potential dictating the terms at first team level i'm sick of the entitlement of these types.
