  1. Past hour
  2. Probably not true in Dolans case. We have to offer Dolan a new contract on at least the same terms as he's on now to trigger compensation in case he moves to somewhere else in this country. Surely we have at least managed to do that!
  3. Evidently Eustace, Batth and Weimann think it's a higher level...
  4. How long are Rovers fans meant to watch the life being strangled out of their club? I guarantee every other fanbase would be down to the bare bones in the ground, like we are, if they found themselves in our situation.
  5. You keep referencing rovers….im not defending rovers im merely stating that when a player comes out and does this sit down interview about wanting to play at a higher level etc I don’t think derby is that level that they might have hoped for
  6. This reads like a dig at your own fans, so for absolute clarity let’s not forget the years of terrible ownership Charlton fans suffered resulting in major protests and a Not A Penny More ideology.
  7. Maybe there has been but at the end of the day if hes gone there for talks and been convinced by a manager he knows well and who knows him he might just feel that's the best place to take the next step. If Dolan is located in South Manchester/Cheshire he won't even need to move or not far at least as opposed to rumoured offers from Glasgow where a player like him could sink pretty quickly. Possibly Derby are his ONLY real serious option at this stage and the money isn't actually much more but it's easy to see why it's a better punt than Rovers right now.
  8. Let's not kid ourselves, Dolan's agent will have been a busy bee in recent weeks and maybe, just maybe, Derby is as good as it gets!
  9. I had around £70k in mind too.
  10. I agree with all of the above….my point is Dolan and his agent I’m assuming would have thought there would have been a better offer on the table than one from Derby
  11. According to Derby ITK’s on twitter there has been no contact between Dolan’s agent and Rovers. No idea if that’s true, but it would tie in with the emerging pattern that the club is not engaging with the higher earners over contract extensions, or those wanting to become the higher earners.
  12. Including Employers' NI, would think about £60k per week.
  13. Dolan was in the first team on £300 quid a week and i'd stake my house on he ain't on more than 3500k now and was offered nothing resembling a wage he can get elsewhere 2 years ago. Complete fantasy stuff that he'd turn down a big pay rise in order to sit out his contract FOR TWO YEARS, absolute nonsense. Fact is Rovers WILL NOT pay their academy grads a jump from small to big money the examples now are there for all to see. Good luck to him he might double his pay at Derby but still won't be on big money because they don't have it. However remember these players have seen the inside of Rovers they have dealt with the people there, they know what gets said inside the club and we don't. Where do you think Derby intend to try and head in the next few years as opposed to Rovers ? Again the evidence is rather obvious.
  14. I have no doubt we haven’t or we have low balled him this isn’t a defence of rovers this is more a question on Dolan and whilst all players should be confident in their ability to play at a higher level I don’t think Derby would have been on his or his agents radar. I reckon they would have hoped for better in footballing terms. Financially he’s clearly going to be better off so good luck to him
  15. Perhaps the deal he was offered was not befitting of a player of his level. So many players here dont sign deals put in front of them (or the ones we even bother to do that) and his last contract was signed a good while ago when he has just broke through so it wouldnt be a surprise if it was a wage offered that was not reasonable and we havent bothered to offer one since. I still cant see him going to Derby personally.
  16. From tomorrow Rovers won't be paying the wages of the out of contract players including loans. How much will they be saving on the wages of Dolan, Batth, Weimann, Woodrow, Beck and Dennis?
  17. Not disagreeing I’d say that’s a fair assumption but my post is specific to Dolan….his interview about playing highest level and being more ambitious etc doesn’t scream Derby to me…batth and weimann are in their last year/s of football so familiarity would be key
  18. Derby might be his highest level…
  19. Maybe these players fancy going to Derby because they loved working under Eustace last season, were gutted when he left and are keen to get back working with him? That would mean more serious and longer term consequences and implications to him moving to Derby but hey, at least we've now got 'alignment' between head coach and work experience head of football and some compo banked for Eustace and his staff Happy days indeed.
  20. Gregg tried in 2023 and was told no because Dolan went solo and had no agent and then moved to a different agency people are right to jump ship from here I just find it laughable that Dolan in his interviews states about playing at the highest level etc and then moves to Derby….only my opinion of course and at least we get comp
  21. Alan Biggs is a well respected, Sheffield based journalist who has had the inside track at Wednesday for ages. It looks like today could be huge for them in terms of their immediate future.
  22. Just for money? Derby are skint. The difference is their owner still wants them to progress and backs his manager as much as he can. There's no evidence other than the words of liars on the Venky payroll that any serious efforts have been made to keep any of our players. Most of the players have admitted this in public in the last few months. If we had really tried the odds suggest that at least one of them would have signed up. The fact that 0 have signed tells me that we aren't trying.
  23. Today
  24. Why what on earth happens when they retire? Do they get taken out to pasture?
  25. Agree, it looks wrong when viewed from the side, either mainly all white, or all blue.
  26. Dolan is an honest pro and I don't blame him for seeking other adventures, and he'll probably start a lot of games under Eustace at Derby. Think he'll disappear like Nyambe did.
