  1. Past hour
  2. How does one find Iceland v Azerbaijan on the telly...?
  3. "Hi mate fancy taking a 70% paycut to play at a team where you put no effort in for 6 months? No? No bother then, have a good weekend".
  4. It will have been "up to" Β£1.5m and we wouldn't be paying anywhere near it.
  5. we did get Yuki for "a low 6 figure fee" if that makes you feel any better?
  6. Biggest shock in all of this is the realistation we paid 1.5 million for Gueye. In my head we'd got him for 500k or something
  7. Not transfer related, but Kargbo played 85 mins in Sierra Leone's 1-1 draw with Guinea Bissau yesterday Miller is on the bench for Australia v New Zealand Gudjohnsen may play for Iceland vs Azerbaijan tonight Toth may play for Hungary v Ireland tomorrow
  8. God knows what's going on with him but they haven't got rid of him yet don't appear to have any intention of using him. So paying him thousands per week doesn't fit in with everything else that's going on.
  9. I don't rate Gueye that much but you'd think he'd have some uses as a "plan b" off the bench. Gudjohnsen best be up to it because otherwise we're in big trouble
  10. I'm predicting Pears off to Turkey too. Will make sorting his hairline easier...
  11. Said this earlier in the window but if we let Gueye go, especially on loan, without a replacement it can only be construed as an actual of self sabotage and a deliberate attempt to relegate us. Can't believe people are in the main taking the potential news so calmly. The Club will be the first to say how unlucky we are if either of our two strikers get injured though. We might as well have left ourselves with 2 CB's, it would have been no less suicidal.
  12. Pathways = Gueye moves on for Tyjon. Saving money and creating these so called pathways are objective 1 and 2.
  13. I think you are right and that is what will happen I just do not think that this is what should happen, whilst on paper we have the numbers, it looks light on quality PS - Young Keeper? Do you mean 18 year old Michalski? or 21 year old Goddard?
  14. Suede - Animal Nitrate
  15. Yes totally agree with this. Ismael has a similar opinion on Gueye as Roversfan99, and given his performances since Ismael came in it's hard to blame him. Not done a single thing since February. Shame as for a period November to January he looked very promising. According to Transfermarkt we paid EUR 1.8M for him, and given where we are just letting him go for a loan seems another big financial loss again. We are really really poor at making our theoretical model (buy cheap, develop and make a profit) work. Only really managed it with a few big names (Szmodics, Wharton). Hyam, Brittain we have sold on what modest increments of money which we bought them for, easily wiped out by losses on players like Gueye, Markanday, Gallagher, Diaz Reading through this list season by season it's really depressing how we constantly lose our best players but Szmodics, Wharton and Armstrong apart we have really struggled to bring in decent fees. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/blackburn-rovers/alletransfers/verein/164
  16. Doesn't really make sense though, if that was the case then surely he wouldn't have gone to Spain with them. Unless it came afterwards of course which is more daft in itself.
  17. I dont see us signing any of these free transfers, I dont see the club offering more than 10k a week, think it may upset a few if they decided to sign a dawson or bamford to be on double more than anyone else. I imagine they are saving money thinking they can get through to january with 2 strikers. Seems the cost cutting continues, a bare bones squad, do they not realise that injuries and suspensions happen in a 46 game season. Guess there thought pricess is: Toth/Mikelski(young kid) alebiousu/taylor miller/carter wharton/mcloughin ribeiro/pickering tron/forshaw/monty tavares/balaji cantwell/henriksen hedges/miroshita de neve/kargbo yuki/gudjohnsen/iygor with the following able to play in various: miller taylor miroshita henriksen I mean the numbers of players are there, but the quality to rely upon is not.. iygor not ready, mikleski(young keeper) not ready, forshaw, de neve not looking good enough, and tavares has not started well, and gudjohnsen is a unknown. When you take those 6 out potentially not good enough that leaves you 19, and a few injuries to some of those or suspensions could leave you with like 15/16 on matchday, but not the best of quality all round. And with the injury record some of our lot have its probably going to be like 15 players maybe solid enough to compete available. I imagine pears will be tried to be offloaded to somewhere like turkey to. Cost cutting at its finest. I do get a hunch that the cb free transfer links are a bit of a smoke screen to try and calm things down a bit. Lets hope some of the newbies hit the ground running after the international break, not ideal that half of them are away on international duty, yuki and gudjohnsen come back both injured, who you picking up top...
  18. If they've suspended Pears without pay for getting barnet surgery without consent then they'll be happy saving a fortune and having this kid on the bench as long as they can.
  19. There is NO plan here it's just an agents feeding frenzy again if it ain't nailed down then move it on and get the commission then move something else in and get the....... As for Dennis for the final time F### OFF i'd rather loan Harry Leonard back !
  20. We should get Pears back on the bench so that an injury to Toth doesn't leave us relying on either an untried teenager, or a 21 year old who was relegated with 2 seperate teams last season
  21. They aren't bothered about that. Look at bundling Hyam out of the door on deadline day without a replacement, and letting a senior striker go outside of our transfer window as proof.
  22. Amazed at any Dennis suggestions. It's been almost four years - late 2021 - since he had that really good run of form for Watford in the PL. He's done nothing since and there's a reason he's without a club at 27. He didn't look like he wanted to be here when we were (sort of) going for the play offs so god knows what he'd be like if we're going to be down the bottom as expected.
  23. Not registering Pears would feel like an act of self harm (who thought anyone would ever say that!). The EFL say they’ll publish the squad lists within 7 days of a window closing so we don’t have long to wait to see who, and how many, we’ve registered.
  24. Losing Gueye is not a huge problem on the face of it, although of course Rovers letting him go when they're no longer able to bring someone else in other than potentially a free agent is just typical of the club these days. Gueye doesn't have the brain for football at championship level. A couple of promising performances last season gave some hope that he could learn the ropes and kick on, but he just hasn't....obviously not helped by the change in head coach and the fact that Ismael clearly doesn't want him. My question is who plays upfront if Ohashi and Gudjohnsen get injured? Tyjon??
