  5. This style 👍 Have you the ability to put together a pre order system?
  6. "A 150th unofficial, designed by fans for the fans, what it should of been , shirt"
  7. Today
  8. Most England managers don’t get anywhere near the line. In 50 years time when we haven’t got anywhere near another final, Southgate may get the respect he deserves.
  9. We are always thinking about merch opportunities - the challenge on so many of them is that they need a minimum production run to make them viable & we can’t afford to speculate & be left with loads of unsold stock. What I will say is that I have always fancied a 1950’s style Rovers shirt myself & if I want one then I’m motivated to keep investigating…
  10. Attended the Canadian Shield games yesterday, as the guest of the New Zealand Association. It was there that I met Ryan Nelsen. We had a pleasant chat and he stated that he loved his time with Rovers. A really nice bloke.
  11. That increased wage that no fee brings just gets swallowed up by the player wanting a bigger wage because they know you're not paying a fee.
  12. Doesnt here unfortunately although even if we did want to be strong in the market of freebies, we would need to act quickly which we dont.
  13. Yesterday
  14. I'll never forgive him for losing the Euros Final at Wembley.
  15. Considering Beckham is currently in line for one you're right.
  16. A mix of styles. Good ball control and tactical manoeuvres along with some no nonsense aggression and sending over the stands when required. The problem that English players have and have had for decades is the complete lack of ability to see the game in a tactical manner. That's why there's no good English managers. You'd think that with it being our national sport and the place where the game originated the FA would do something to address this but I suppose they haven't got any time for that kind of thing when they're busy lining their pockets with blood money.
  17. Southgate was a good ambassador for the England team and, I feel, a focal point for some sort of unity. However, (without triggering the debate now as tiresome as any) it cannot be forgotten that Southgate presided over a time when the Premier League football style shifted towards the continental, especially, I think, due to Pep Guardiola's influence - and, no doubt, due to many an unrecognised work of grassroots coaches. This made competing internationally more possible than the days of Stevie Kick-A-Ball-40-Yards and 4-4-fucking-2. Though, arguably, for England to take the final step, they need to reconnect with their traditional strengths, alongside the new found ability to keep possession.
  18. Time to ask again. Does anybody seriously think that they are going to be trying to sign players to strengthen the squad? Seriously?
  19. I'm not too fussed about what the club does myself as I don't see this as 150 years of Blackburn Rovers. For me that club ceased to exist in 2010. This is just a 15 years anniversary of venky rovers. Nothing to celebrate at all. @Herbie6590 could you have a 150th shirt in the works, something similar to the 1960s shirts but with a button up collar similar to this? I am asking out of pure selfishness here as I have lost over 10kg and my old one now is too big for me. The Ribero 1960s ones we got last time were the best Rovers shirts I've ever had. I also think it's another way to shame the club as once again the fans can do a much better job than them.
  20. It does, as I said, depend on how good, or not, your recruitment department is. Not paying a fee "should " mean more is available for wages which "should " mean you get better quality. I would imagine there will be an emphasis on foreigners.
  21. Me or you or anyone here could have got England to at least the semis. The teams they came up against were shockingly poor. When they came up against any kind of half decent opposition he was outfoxed and out classed. The quality of football in general has deteriorated beyond belief over the last 15 years and that is no more clearly evident than in the international game. That last Euros was the worst quality competition I have ever seen. Spain won with ease and they weren't particularly impressive. In fairness to Southgate, he got the England team playing as a team for a while rather than a bunch of big ego'd dickheads that were just there to get their face in the paper. That's more a reflection of how poor the England managers have been for the last 30 years though. Thanks to the large amount of television footage that exists and os easily accessible nowadays, you can go back and see what the game used to be like. It's not just us wearing rose tinted glasses, the game was much much better.
  22. They’ll probably appoint a manager, sign a player and Sack said manager before we pay a fee for a player!
  23. Also @M_B you downplay the importance of speed and downplay the importance of paying fees. If you want the best freebies you have to act fast.
  24. Shows how much football has fallen into disrepute that the UEFA Cup is now considered a minor competition. The whole lot needs to be ripped up and started again.
  25. Yep, Spurs had a disastrous season and it wasn't saved by a victory in a minor European tournament where their opponents were as bad as they are.
  26. But not even "many millions." You are more likely to find a better player if you pay a million or two say compared to someone on a free. The 2 options arent freebies and big fees. You look through the majority of those released and its because they are not very good, and the ones who are even half decent in this country will be able to demand an above average wage because so many teams will want them.
  27. We effectively have a Super League without relegation as the promoted teams are increasingly likely to go straight down. This will be even more likely if players get picked off like Jobe Bellingham and James Trafford, before a ball is kicked.
  28. Obviously , if you're paying many millions for players then you can guarantee quality . At the level Rovers and many others are at, you're just as likely, even more likely, to pick up a good player on a free. Josh Murphy is a perfect example, whether the recruitment department is up to it is another matter,I'll wait and see how Gestede does,
