  1. Past hour
  2. "It was impossible to finish the game," said McKenna. "From the start of the second half the pitch was getting to the point of unplayable really. " "It was really slushy before the game started, but the ball rolled okay in the first half to be fair. It was holding up a little bit. But in the second half, the footing was too slippery to be safe, then the ball stops moving. It was an inevitable decision that could maybe have been made earlier. In the end there was no other option." "We hope to reward them, starting next Saturday (at home to Portsmouth) and in the matches to come. There's every chance that we'll be back up here again. Hopefully we'll reward them because we really, really appreciate their support."
  3. If he said that, that's out of order because he's pre judging the issue and implying a replay in full or part is what should happen. I normally agree with everything Jeff Stelling says on Talksport but I can't understand why he and Ally think it would be unfair unless there was a full replay. It would be a lot less unfair if the match was reconvened under as near to the same conditions as possible as when the match was abandoned. The EFL have all the tools at their disposal in the form of the regulations - now they need the cajones to use them.
  4. https://eflanalysis.com/news/ally-mccoist-and-jeff-stelling-say-theres-an-obvious-answer-to-blackburn-rovers-vs-ipswich-town-replay-conundrum/ Getting a fair bit
  5. He’s pretty much tried to suggest events of the second half were due to conditions. A not very subtle attempt to push the full replay narrative?: https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/25482903.ipswich-town-kieran-mckenna-abandoned-game-blackburn-rovers/
  6. McKenna basically said it was unplayable and should have been called off sooner. He also (crucially) said something like it looks like we'll be back up again in the near future. That is a clear breach surely?
  7. I heard Radio Lancs on Saturday and what I understood was that the two managers had agreed not to comment on the game in case it prejudiced the EFL decision. Whether they had or not and whether it was just comments about the abandonment that they were not going to comment on I don't know. What one of the reporters said was that it was frustrating in that they could not ask VI about the late withdrawal of Tavares, which clearly had nowt to do with the abandonment. What is clear is that VI does not seem to have made any public comment on anything to do with the game. I've no idea what McKenna said.
  8. Everything can’t be the same so nothing should be doesn’t seem like the strongest argument to me.
  9. Yet you are fine, suggesting all of our players could be injured in the rearranged game.
  10. I haven't heard of it neither. If it's true it sounds a bit Pravda ish. There have been a couple of abandonments in the National and National League North this season and managers have spoken to the press. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cz717vwg410t Comments from Paul Caddis after Herefords match at Sporting Khalsa was abandoned. Hereford manager Paul Caddis condemned the "disgraceful" racist abuse directed at Sporting Khalsa goalkeeper Ravan Constable, stating that anyone using such language is "not welcome at the club" and expressed pride in the way his team stood with Sporting Khalsa. He confirmed an individual was identified and the club would ban them while investigations are carried out, urging for public cooperation with the ongoing police investigation.
  11. Today
  12. Feels like I'm playing a game of whack-a-mole.
  13. Are you saying you don’t want a full list of customer service numbers?
  14. Maybe Pasha has sent a crack team to take it down
  15. Did he express a view on what the decision should be regarding replaying the game? I can see why that wouldnt be allowed. Otherwise if he was merely talking about the game itself, can't see a problem.
  16. Jeff and Ally had their say this morning https://eflanalysis.com/news/ally-mccoist-and-jeff-stelling-say-theres-an-obvious-answer-to-blackburn-rovers-vs-ipswich-town-replay-conundrum/
  17. Radio Lancs said it on Saturday. I'm not 100% sure that's correct to be honest.
  18. He spoke to Ipswich club media which was then reported by the press
  19. I wasn't aware that the managers weren't allowed to speak to the press in those circumstances. Where has this come from?
  20. Just make sure the suncream isn't above about 10ml, else you won't be allowed to take that in no doubt.
  21. they are not blamed for weather .... but for knowing the drainage problem for years and not doing anything and for being the only pitch unplayable in PL,CH,L1 and L2.
  22. Away pubs @ Charlton? Last time I went (PROMOTION PARTY) the pub across from the train station had been closed due to a smoke bomb being let off by some Rovers fans!
  23. Free for ST holders and to offset that half price for the rest incl away fans would be my guess but knowing this lot they'll charge everybody and be rewarded with a 6k gate.
  24. Not one of his comments referred to his team being awful for almost the entire game or his tactics consisting of using the wet conditions to try and maim their opponents. He did mention that the second half was pretty much unplayable from the off - ignoring the fact it only affected one team negatively, turning them into cheating shithouses collecting 4 yellows and a red.
