Wrexham are like Rovers were on the early 90s. Theyโll be in the Prem within 3 years. -

Can't even get Batth or Weimann to sign despite both playing big parts last season and having decent seasons. It really is tragic. -

We may well get them in in terms of numbers but I don't expect them to be superio or even equalr in quality. If we sell Travis do you really think we'll sign someone for that position who's as good? We're on a downward projection. -

No, Ismael said it. Was just checking if you thought it was realistic/likely. So 3 signings in 3 weeks? Lets see but I fear you may be disappointed. -

We haven't even managed to tie down a below average, injury prone Ryan Hedges to a new deal. You would imagine he'd sign on basically the same terms, or without a significant uplift at the very least, relatively quickly. I'm not suggesting that we should be keeping him but the manager has stated that he wants to and you'd imagine this should have been a fairly straightforward deal to be done. -

Yep for a player in Travs circumstances it would be a great move and although i'd be loathed to lose him now under normal times 3 mill would be a good fee to re-invest a big lump of. Here though it will just evaporate overnight paying wages whilst they slot John Buckley into Travis position and pour money down the drain bringing in a skinny 10/15k a week Prem loan as back up. Most sane fans wouldn't like that but the agents would. -

No, he said he wanted 90% of business in by the time pre season training starts. Which is in around 2-3 weeks away. -

Yuri Ribeiro I meant Have I ever said that? Didn't Ismael say by the Spanish pre season camp late July? I think we have a couple in by them but not all. Maybe 3 out of the 6 or 7 signings Ismael wanted -

But he was with the new owners for 18 months showing them the ropes and how football works. The Owner Tom Warner is here watching games, interacting with fans of the club, understanding the fans but also has big plans for the stadium rebuild and expansion. Venkys have had 15 years. They could have rebuild the Riverside stand and make more disabled friendly when wheel chair uses can have a higher view of the pitch like Wigan do. -

Agreed, though Rovers' approach has basically taken any decision out of Travis' hands anyway. All of what you say is probably true, but assumes there is a decision to be made between Rovers and Wrexham as both want him. Both don't want him - Rovers have made it quite clear by their conduct that they have no interest in keeping Travis, Tronstad, Brittain etc. So there's not really a choice to be made. If Rovers don't want him then he'll have to go elsewhere. -

I'm afraid it would be a no brainer if I were in Travis position. A young ambitious (judging by his wife's social media) newly married couple is a perfect match for a team with successive promotions, widespread positive worldwide media coverage, committed owners who are progressive and seemingly with ever improving infrastructure. If you look at it from a business/career point of view there is only 1 winner IMO, we're a club on very much a downward trajectory on all fronts, Wrexham are the opposite, as much as it pains me to admit that the famous Blackburn Rovers are a worse option than Wrexham. -

Ribeiro cannot be treated as a contract extension in the normal sense of the word. He came into the club in January, bizarrely on a 6 months permanent deal, and then given his good contributions to the team deservedly had that extended. It was a very strange and almost unheard of situation to join a club on a permanent 6 month contract. I've never seen such a thing before. Most normal organisations would have simply given him a multi-year deal at the point of joining, so we can't really then claim credit for 'extending' it when through our own strange approach an extension became necessary after only a few months of him being here. Therefore no senior player has had a contract extension in 18 months. Invoking a 12 month option in the club's favour is not a contract extension, it is triggering a clause in an existing deal. -

100% agree. He didn't rate Eustace 12 months and now he is messiah to him Bruno Riberio did but you point is correct. Gestede should have been getting our key players tied down during the season. -

I'm interested to see what kind of contracts any new permanent signings get this window considering that the whole first team squad is out of contract in the next two years. -

I have no doubts that they leave contract negotiations as late as possible for 2 reasons: 1. So they can go longer paying less wages. 2. Players start having half an eye on an exit, and with less than 12 months on their contracts, they are likely to garner a reasonable amount of interest. The club can sell, gain a bit of money, shift wages off the books and avoid paying players more money. Any replacement is either an academy graduate on peanuts or a new signing earning a lot less. It's all a total circus and there is no desire to improve, just cut costs/keep them to a minimum. -
