  1. Past hour
  2. But despite the ice they are all happier than here and at least he'll be used to tiny home crowds.
  3. People often think Blackburn is a difficult place to settle in. Try a town of 42,000 which is a 16 hour car journey from Oslo and further north than practically all of Alaska..
  4. I found the timings quite strange too. Bear in mind the Norwegian league also runs March till November so they effectively had what half a season out of him and a few champions league performances. 4 goals in 10 league appearances doesn't suggest he was awful there? He was their main/most expensive signing too by the looks of things. Bodo have played 2 friendlies in Jan and he was on the bench in 1, he started the game on Tuesday which suggests he was in their plans. Was it an offer they couldn't turn down? 🤔
  5. The longer the contract the more time you have to pay the fee over and also base a chunk of it on add ons. Also it can compensate a bit for a lower wage 'we can't give you that much over 2/3 years but we can give you this much over 4 years so you had the security' That kind of thing that they've done before with the likes of Armstrong and Gallagher although bigger figures involved obviously.
  6. All manner of things really, less traffic jams if you're lucky, less driver hours, less diesel etc As you say meals and snacks on the bus and straight to bed when they get there but you're going to be leggy in the morning not doing much until you get to the ground and do pre match. I know Eustace had them walking up the sea front at Plymouth last time we were there.
  7. The latest was they were "in talks about making is move permanent" or words to that effect Given that the option was already agreed in the summer, & doesn't require any talks (it just needs activating), I would assume there is no news
  8. whats the latest of baradji signing permantly
  9. That 5th line can all go as far as I'm concerned
  10. sounds about right, let there late and then you don`t have to pay for an evening meal, get 4 of them to share a room as well🙂 that was the waggot way
  11. Don't understand anyone who doesn't approve of the owners and who wants new ownership (of which I assume you're one) being opposed to the boycott. If there's anyone left who either thinks they are decent owners or that no-one would ever buy us (and there certainly seem to be a few on that other site) then fair enough I can understand it.
  12. It's definitely a punt, any striker from the Scandinavian league would be. On the other hand, who could you get with Championship experience and a proven goal record for 3.5 mill and 10k a week? Ryan Hardie is probably the only that springs to mind, and would make sense to me.
  13. you have to question why bodo glimt signed jorgenson in the summer and are offloading him a couple of months later, take no notice of the quoted "3.5 million" either, sidnei was touted as costing 2 million but thats obviously a load of ****,it pays not to believe anything that comes out of ewood
  14. Reduce costs further and tighten deadly duo control?
  15. Rovers team used to train Friday mornings then travel down in the afternoon for away games. Distance ones they used to fly or occasionally the train but in the Waggot era i got told his method was train Fri afternoon and travel in the evening for distance games. Not sure if true or if it makes a difference or not.
  16. Today
  17. The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
  18. So we have loaned a midget centre half from Brighton (echoes of JPvH in our dreams), successfully tempted a winger cum forward from 32nd place in the Champions League, Gueye is teaching Shanghai how to trap a ball and Mercer is a hero. Have I missed anything?
  19. There has been a huge inflation in Scandinavia the last few years when it comes to transfer fees. This has especially been fuelled by the extensions of the European cups. Qualifying even just for the Group stage in Conference League has filled up coffers. It has also driven up the fee as clubs are more reluctant to sell when there is a 10mill pound European ticket in their sights. When you compare Ipswich paying 20 mill for Walle Egeli, 3.5 for Jørgensen is probably the going rate. Jørgensen was tracked by Bodø Glimt for several years before buying him last summer. They are loaded after qualifying for Champions League so they would never let him go on the cheap. The contract length seems reasonable to protect the investment. You're not giving a 2-year contract to a 3.5 mill signing to see him walk for free after 2 years. Given our inability to renew contracts it's probably better to give longer contract up front. If he doesn't work out, there will be plenty of takers for a reduced fee. Scandinavian clubs have a good track record of buying back "failed" players.
  20. More chance of finding a hens tooth stuck in your boiled egg than Rovers winning down there. The bogeyest of bogey grounds for us it really must be the journey down that Blackburn teams don't like.
  21. I don’t think he does (too few minutes).
  22. The kind of game I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a win but also equally wouldn’t be surprised to see us get tonked. In other words this post added no value whatsoever!
  23. Tears for Fears - Pale Shelter (could be their best track ever)
  24. Sorry to those making the trip at the time they've chosen to start this. Portman Road isn't the easiest ground to get to for opposition fans and we - or they - have put people out of their way again with selecting a stupid kick off time that's only going to inconvenience a certain many. McKenna just received another MOTM award but it was well deserved. Obviously you don't get to see all that goes on here but we've beaten leaders Coventry comfortably home and away in the last month as well as picking up other standout results. After a slow start we have now showed peoples expectations and progressing as we should. I'd hope to see Szmodics involved against you tomorrow at some stage as since we brought him in the player just hasn't lived up to expectation and seems at times surplus to future plans or on the verge of being sold or loaned out. Hirst won't be involved so essentially you're looking at Azon leading the line with others like Philogene, Nunez and Burns playing their part further behind. We'll start as favourites and expected to win or least take something from it but sport is fickle at this level and open to all manner of outcome. This week back in 1996 we won against you in an FA Cup replay game when you were premier league champions where no-one thought it were possible. Point being all these years later maybe Rovers can do something similar from the other end of the spectrum.
