Ryan Hedges has lost the one yard of pace he previously had. And personally, I think McLoughlin has looked alright in the moments with low pressure but he’s entirely missing at set plays and the long throws. Doesn’t seem to like to win the first ball, which isn’t a good trait for a centre back.

If there was a positive to take from the game, I think Alebiosu has looked ok so far. Gets his foot in at the right time. Think he’ll be good.

Pears' issue isn't so much with his fundamentals as his tendency to have at least one absolute clanger per game. When he went through that period where he wasn't doing that he looked decent. Seemed to have just been a purple patch of confidence though. Not saying Pears is particularly good for the record, but it's his concentration which makes him a liability.

They are fairly interchangeable. Their reputations will rise and fall on how many cock ups lead to goals. On another day, both of those in the first half could have gone in and the saves he’s made today mean shit. It’s an area that should be improvable, but you have to remember how bad Leo was.

I'd make that save, he has not caught it with any power. Say what you like about pears but he is a decent shot stopper. Toth looks like a clone, terrible distribution decent shot stopper when he doesn't have to think. Possibly better on crosses than Pears.
