I would worry that we plan to rely on youth for roles like that, RW seems to be the only position I can see us actually trying to bring in a new starter now, anything else will be cheap back-ups.

My point is that is not the norm for most clubs , it is the outlier. The stats are available. 16/17 - 4 players 17/18 - 2 players 18/19 - 9 players 19/20 - 3 players 20/21 - 3 players 21/22- 5 players 22/23 - 3 players 23/24 - 2 players 24/25 - 0 players So as you can see, it’s a relatively small % of strikers that get 20 goals in MOST seasons - if it’s 3 per season on average that means only 3 out of about 48 strikers (2 per team) get to 20 goals. So it’s rare.

RW: A desperate, desperate need. Hedges offers almost nothing offensively (was it 1 goal and 2 assists last season?) CF: Leonard needs loaning out (L1 or even L2) until at least the Jan. window in order to see if he can hack game after game and score goals - after looking so promising, he's missed so much football over the last season or 2 and after his back problems you do worry if he will ever be fit enough for the rigors of professional football. Just don't see how Ismael would be happy with just 2 or 3 more. 3 more of REAL QUALITY and we MIGHT get by but 2 or 3 more of the likes of Alebiosu, Tavares & De Neve (Alebiosu and De Neve look average at best and don't improve our starting 11 whilst Tavares is unproven with an unconvincing last season at his previous club) and we could be in real trouble.

If a young, poorly paid, player does really well but knows the intention is to sell him, and there is interest from other clubs, is he likely to sign a new contract ? There will be exceptions like AW who loves the club and was happy to sign but, in general, a flawed policy.

Er no. As others have pointed out, he has a good engine and can get up and down but we haven't seen him do anything to worry the opposite full back or any crunching defensive tackles. With him and Hedges on the other side we may negate other team's threat out wide but there will be minimal goals/assists coming from either.

I think that too. There’d be a point to that if the fees were then invested in better and better potential. I don’t see this happening though.
