I don't think anyone can on the one hand complain that the bar has been lowered on signings, then go mad about releasing Batth and Weimann. It shouldn't be beyond any decent recruitment department to fill those two spots with players of equal/better quality.

This is spiced up with some very exciting prospects in Tyjon, Batty, Duru, Montgomery, Riordan.

Probably because they'd have to agree adequate compensation first and if they can't they risk getting stung at tribunal. 15k a week over 3 years might be agreeable but not if it comes with a 1.5 or 2 million fee as well.

Batth turns 35 in September. But there are two seperate arguments. Whether he will be a big miss, and whether he will replicare it next season. I dont see why a 2 year deal comes into it. He has only signed a 1 year deal at Derby.

Batth turns 36 in Sept and Weimann 34 in August. Keeping them could be smart, but giving a 36 year old a two-year contract is no way to run a football club. Also Weimann turning 34. It’s not very sustainable long-term giving such players contracts.

Well we haven't replaced Batth as yet and I will be amazed if De Neve gets anywhere near what Weimann did last season in terms of impact, goals and assists.

Not sure hiring Jason Wilcox as the penalty coach was an inspired move but we got away with it! Sweden keeper saves 4 but skies one herself and two of her teammates miss the target. That was unfathomably poor quality but job done for England
