  2. I’d choose Glen’s et al drive and determination to improve our club over them being able to produce a literary masterpiece.
  3. Glen while I appreciate all you're doing but I feel it's something that needs to be addressed having read the first statement from the coalition it was gramatically poor the points made were very good however in some places it didn't make sense I know how it is for some people myself included it's very difficult & so I understand how difficult it can be I do think before putting out large statements someone should proof read it before it goes out however I completely agreed with all the points made
  4. Looking good for Celtic next season: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cm2692qe2v1o
  5. Carrick potted by Boro Quite rightly in my opinion, should have done much better with what he had available to him
  6. I wish I shared your confidence! A key paragraph: Blackburn remain in talks with the right-back to extend his contract and are hopeful of a positive outcome. However, if that doesn't materialise, they will have to sell him with his stock high. You simply should not p1ss about with your best players but sadly we seem to - Lenihan, Rothwell, Brereton etc. 'Remain in talks' - suggests to me the two parties are some distance apart. 'Hopeful' - How could they be anything but 'hopeful'; there is a huge difference between being 'hopeful' of a positive outcome and 'confident' in a positive outcome. I have little doubt Brittain's agent will be testing the waters and if there are warm overtures from any half decent club then I think it's game over. In the Championship I would only consider Sheff Wed as a worse option than Rovers and I have little doubt that any other interested Championship club would offer Brittain a better deal than what Rovers are offering. With player retention and the signing of new players, I think we only stand a chance if it's a one horse race which means our market comprises those players who are simply not good enough at Championship level. Sadly, I think we are locked in a vicious circle and are done for as a credible progressive club with real ambition.

  8. I'm not casting judgement Rev on the idea or fear of a possible sale as it's impossible to trust anything that the club would say about such an issue until a sale or signing actually happens. But the article is just a rundown of all the fullbacks currently on the roster, their contract situations & future prospects. The headline is just a scare tactic to get clicks & subscriptions.
  9. The women would be mad to stay - I assume anyone good enough to play last year will be screaming bloody murder to get out of their Rovers contract.

  11. As the old terrace song went, Oyston ended up "sewing bags". Don't suppose the same fate will befall our owners as a result of the Indian Court proceedings, but you're right, we'll likely end up with a shell of a squad.
  12. I can never get past the firewall. What did it say then? I'd actually be surprised if we were serious about keeping CB and didn't in reality want to offload him in order to replace him with a cheaper option.
  13. Did anyone on here (who's posted about it anyway) actually bother to read Elliott Jackson's article with the "Brittain transfer ultimatum" BS headline? Jeeze........ I'm as worried as anybody here about Trons & Cal leaving this summer, but this is way too much ado about nothing way too early in the process and the article states nothing of the sort in the first place.
  14. ....And to be told the Club is being put up for sale. PARTY TIME!
  15. I'm just a regular fan, born n bred into Blue and White halves, as you said no one person leads the coalition its a unified effort some of whom we may never hear from or see, but genuinely grateful for the efforts and the digging and processing information night after day after night. And when this is all over I reckon we hire every suite at Ewood and drink to the badge. It'll happen I'm sure of it. May not be tomorrow but it won't be forever ARTE ET LABORE
  16. Would pushing that aspect of things not make them set their stall out as "that's the only reason we'll leave" and end up not finding anyone for many more years when it's too late? Anything is worth a shot though
  17. Telling them they don't need to send any money hes got it all in hand.
  18. Hopefully, to get his marching orders.
  19. The sponsor of the Rovers women, Dakota Biotech are apparently the business who offered to fund the running of the women's team. The company is owned by an ex Darrener and keen Rovers fan.
  20. Going the same way as Blackpool about 10 years ago under the Oystons. An absolutely abysmal squad for next season.
  21. I have been told that Suhail is back in India but I don't know why.
  22. The often quoted £20m per annum loss, means they will be in for another £100m in the next 5 years. Would anyone on here, carry on paying their mortgage, if their house was dropping in value by more than the Mortgage payment every year, unless they had a body buried in the back garden. I guess that simile is ironic, given the finding on Nuttall Street, when Uncle Jack was redeveloping the ground.
  23. Forget the £200M - that is not happening. It's about Venkys understanding that this asset is a write off (happens every day in the private capital world) and cutting their losses/getting as much as they can. As per @RoverDom it WILL become £300M, £400M... because we are not progressing upwards in any way with the current strategy - it simply will not allow us to grow. Where this all falls down and unfortunately seems to be more and more the case, is if they just don't care and are treating Rovers not as an investible but a trophy asset, then it really is game over with this strategic direction.
