  1. Past hour
  2. Yep it’s boring now just confirm the replay, let us have a whinge and move on
  3. Might be sooner when it turns out Rovers neglected to press send, and as a result, Ipswich's suggestion passes unchallenged 😉
  4. Need to pretend that they have listened to both sides before announcing.
  5. Again, that is where the manager has to make the decision who, in his opinion, is the best player . Sentiment shouldn't enter the equation.
  6. How does it take this long to tell us it will be replayed?
  7. If it's the last 10+stoppage it would just be behind closed doors, streamed online. They wouldn't bother paying concourse staff and stewards for 15 mins. The argument that it's more difficult than a 90 mins game doesn't really wash. And if we wanted a full 90 mins replay, it would have been announced by now because that's obviously what Ipswich want too.
  8. Decision won't be for a few days yet.
  9. If Pasha is thinking that way the list of why he should fuck off has just got even longer.
  10. For the 15 minute option, presumably they wouldn't charge anyone with a ticket for the original game and income from hospitality etc would be zero but they would still need to pay stewards and police. If it's a full replay, Rovers can refund 40% of the original ticket price and then charge full price again for the replay, sell hospitality tickets and get income from food and drinks. Pasha will be looking at this from a financial point of view and may well prefer the full replay
  11. Doesn't cost Ipswich any extra they're still travelling the same distance for 15 mins or 90. Presume we'd be out of pocket on a partial re-run as opposed to the full 90 mins if it were held behind closed doors or people were let in for free. It's easily.doable though. All that is needed is the willingness to do it. For the chance of a more or less guaranteed three points we ought to be champing at the bit if we were to get that chance.
  12. I’m also unsure why the obsession with having or creating a precedent is. As long as the EFL set out clearly what they took in account they’ll be able to justify different decisions in the future.
  13. Probably need another day or two to convince us that they looked at every other option before deciding to replay it.
  14. Thanks. It’s almost as if ‘journalists’ are picking and choosing which bits of info to share with us…
  15. Saw that myself, Nixon was apparentlyclaiming that a game called off in the 82nd minute due to illness in the crowd with the score at 1-0 and which was replayed in full was being considered as a precedent. Not really directly comparable as I assume it was 11 v 11 in that game at the time.
  16. I have to admit I thought this would be a straight forward "replayed" announcement on Monday and am surprised we haven't heard anything back yet.
  17. And also I think both teams actually agreed to replay the game in full.
  18. Why would playing a partial game cost more than playing a full game??
  19. Today
  20. Called off for very different reasons and only stopped when home fans (with a very good intention) came onto and refused to leave the pitch.
  21. Anyone listened to the latest Arte et Labore pod, couple of Jokers ! Both agree only fair outcome is restart from 80 minutes but because of logistics / finance decided that won’t happen and so only fair solution is a replay. What the hell has logistics and cost got to do with a fair and equitable solution !
  22. I'm seeing news that they're using a Leyton orient game last year as the precedent (called off past 80th minute). Very different with red and yellow cards involved. May be speculation though. Any proof that we have drainage issues though it's a no brainer. No proof then maybe they are considering something progressive
  23. Yeah for sure, I think that in certain scenarios where you have really standout players (like Szmodics when he was here) then yes, those types should always be first on the team sheet. In the case of Rovers CBs that my original post was referring to, I wouldn't say McLoughlin is one of those standout players. He had a decent start to the season but was foolish to get himself sent off against Norwich. Since then Rovers have done very well defensively and not conceded a goal, so that's my logic for keeping the pairing as is. Also sometimes need to consider the pairing of players as well. Some players have better chemistry on the pitch than others. I think its too early to say which CB pairing has the best chemistry in this team.
  24. ha, I was skimming the Canadian soccer nerds forum and their ongoing thread on Luca Koleosho: https://www.canadiansoccernews.com/topic/78146-luca-koleosho/page/73/ - lots of dual-national will-he-won't-he angst in Canadian soccer, a la good ol' Junior Hoilett (who eventually became a gem for Canadian soccer!)... ...and stumbled upon fans rhapsodising about him being surpassed by some winger from 'Blackburn' named Dolan!
  25. I thought Rovers put in a decent performance, in the atrocious conditions against Ipswich. I'm thinking positive, 0-3 Rovers, Gudjohnssen off the mark.
