  1. Past hour
  2. Perhaps, but whoever had been in charge. Promotion would have been a long shot. The issue is that you perpetuate a myth that Venkys were ploughing Β£20m in as if it went on the team. Rather than just being a standard Championship situation whereby expenses are higher than the income clubs receive, so just raising funds to offset that to pay liabilities. Now you are saying that they only lost interest recently coinciding with the court case. They lost any flicker of initial interest very quickly after purchasing the club.
  3. He's been pushed, mate. We shipped him on loan and declined to put a contract Infront of him.
  4. Lewis Travis asks to leave Blackburn Rovers for Derby County | Lancashire Telegraph https://x.com/BBCLancsSport/status/1955393284215542020
  5. Translate it to any other industry and I think you'd have very similar results.
  6. Nobody is pushing him anymore, he’s going.
  7. That’s why it very rarely happens. There no integrity in pro football and there hasn’t been for decades.
  8. Whatever. We needed someone ambitious like JDT or Eustace in charge when Mowbray was here.
  9. Some of them, yeah. His closest mates have left, a good few players have just arrived. I just don't think it was an answer that was helpful to anyone but those that are trying to push Trav out.
  10. I understand that sentiment but there are other factors at play - you have to consider the impact of the answer on the team and squad. And honestly, expecting a player - or anyone for that matter - to risk their income on spilling the beans for little to no benefit is not realistic.
  11. So you think that the other players wouldn’t have known Travis wanted to leave iuntil Israel said so ? Even the dogs in the street could see he wanted a move
  12. I disagree completely all players are out for themselves some will se with as an opportunity to play regularly ie tavares theres way too much protection of players the same players who are under contract if Travis has any balls he will spill the beans when he’s sold but I suspect he will agree to an nda incorporated into his contract as itl suit him financially and publicly
  13. Unlucky. Niall was phenomenal. Good effort through and a great distraction through the last few weeks.
  14. I'm seeing a lot of people espouse complete honesty with no tact as implicitly positive. It's the same in politics; "he says what he feels, he's just so honest." Imo VI either didn't think about the impact of his answer to the question on Trav or has been briefed to push him out. Trav is our captain. The impact on the squad - the majority of which he won't have confided in that he wants to leave - to hear the club captain and cultural leader wants out could be cataclysmic. We all know how important momentum is in this league and we've turned in two insipid performances. If morale is destroyed among the newer players within a month of joining they don't have a fucking chance. VI has thrown a grenade and I'm not sure whether it was a slip of the tongue or preordained.
  15. Howling’ Wolf - Smokestack Lightning
  16. No- one has less time for Waggott than me but do you not think this latest ripping up of everything and starting again from scratch by scouring obscure European Leagues is solely RG's "bright" idea?
  17. Also, did it take only until recently for Venkys to lose interest? They havent attended a game in about 10 years. Most summers saw minimal spending even before the court case.
  18. He isnt why we are in the mess we are in now, at all. Seemingly, when you get a dislike of someone, it really sticks in your head permanently even if their spell here becomes an irrelevance. He hasnt been here for 3 or 4 years. This idea that he was purposely avoiding the massive pay rise that a promotion would bring just shows that hatred is coming in over any semblance of logic. But either way, hes been gone for long enough whereby any damage he personally did (which I cant see, youll have to be specific) would have worn off.
  19. I knew this summer was going to be bad but it's imploding at a catastrophic rate. Last time I was this certain of relegation was when Coyle took charge.
  20. But it also wont work if we wont offer competitive wages, lose so many proven players simultaneously and replace them with random cheap players from lesser leagues. They do know what they are doing above Ismael. They are refusing to offer competitive wages, their only focus is cutting costs. But although they know what they are doing, its clearly not to the betterment of the football club.
  21. Saw much more from Leo Duru in less games last year than Montgomery has shown at the end of last season and this. He's also played more games at a higher level. Would rather have him around and loan KM for more experience. But, he's not 6 foot and can't cover 2 positions so less value...
  22. Yeah, we are literally his work experience. Nothing more and the consequences of his inexperience and incompetence is something he'll walk away from, at some point.
  23. and cue Neil Young - Rocking In The Free World.. πŸ™‚
  24. You're painting the same scenario as the past managers, you'll be wanting jokes about the bus next, how did that end? I've no idea if they know what they're doing, I just hope they do. There will be disagreements, there have to be, but if they're not together in general, and stick to agreed boundaries, it definitely won't work.
  25. You wouldn’t actively want it but if theres massive history of it you shouldn’t be surprised. He can be annoyed all he likes and rightly so but I still maintain he either knew of the situation or should have known of the history of the club.
  26. Just my opinion but I think Gestede wants the older heads out so he can play championship manager with our squad hoping to hit the jackpot with foreign signings and that 1 or 2 of them can be sold for a decent profit. Sometimes you can just tell and I do not believe this guy has rovers best interests as top of his priority list. The podcasts he came across as an absolute tool But again he is a mere symptom the owners need outing and then the rest of them will be shown the door
