I really couldn't care less for any player that no longer plays for us. Any rumours of any more incomings? Personal opinion is VI is exactly what we needed, he's trying to make us a more progressive team, he cant buy champ proven as outside our budget, he has to look for foreign bargains.. I think current team (Rudy and VI) are doing ok.. ultimately time will tell, but I woild rather live a life with some risk than trying to squeeze existing lemons within an inch of the lives.

I'm not meandering towards savouring the match day experience. I'm already there and have been for decades! I'm the same as anybody else when it comes to feeling happy or down depending on the result. But I don't treat following Rovers to the same conditional level that you do. They're not my business venture where I must dissect everything, make cynical conclusions based on hearsay, and get engrossed by the resulting negativity. I would say "what's the point?" is more a question for you than me.

You probably won't like this post as it's me but if you're meandering towards the point where you're just happy to savour the match day experience regardless of what happens on the pitch - is there much point in it any longer? Surely it's all about winning and losing and trying to achieve success no matter what day of the week it is. Two things I’ve liked about VI has been his reactions to Brittain’s and Travis’s self-serving toy-throwing. Like JDT, he comes across as someone you can’t fuck around with. Both of them intense, fit as fleas, played for clubs Trav can’t even dream of. His managerial career also reminds me of Souness, ie extremely checkered before landing here. I’m hoping it’s another case of right man, right time. As you say, let’s find out. And if the place is so toxic, why was 20-year Bucko sobbing his heart out? I can’t imagine the new signings are giving any thought to how Trav felt: they’d never heard of him, he’s won nowt, move on old man, I’m having your shirt.

Clearly he didn't as he didn't press the owners for investment when promotion was a possibility. There's no other way you can sugar coat that. Any other manager would want the best squad or X1 humanly possible at his disposal. It was his job to win football matches not manage the finances and finish 15th every other season.

I agree, however JDT openly gave up and continued to play the same football with players not up to it. At least Eustace made us harder to beat. You understand that you can offer someone a contract but not enough for them to want to sign it, right? Hats off to you, sir. 👏 As a lowly supporter, and as I've grown older, I've started to worry less about what I can't control. I can't control who owns Rovers. I can't control who plays for us. I can't control who leaves, nor why they leave. I follow Rovers to enjoy football, and no matter what is going on around the club when it isn't match-day, I still thoroughly enjoy match days. This will sound contradictory given that I'm sitting here bang in between two Rovers match days writing this, but I often wonder if I'm the only one who finds following Rovers much more enjoyable when I don't digest the drama off the pitch, true or otherwise, and stick primarily to match days and a few beers.

Maybe if the board didn't keep undermining him he'd have succeeded - best chance we had in years and we made amateur mistakes on deadline day two years running and sold his best player for half his market value whilst reinvesting none of it.
