  1. Past hour
  2. Think he will go somewhere with the window still open.
  3. The one who could get the best of Gueye was David Lowe ...
  4. Why selling Gueye now? What if Yuki and Gudjohnsen gets injured? Shambles of club
  5. Any โ€œ free โ€œ players now are โ€œ free โ€œ for a reason.
  6. Agreed on ability and style of team that he'd need. In terms of selling or loaning him - I don't really care, to be honest. Either way, we aren't going to use the sale money and/or wage saving to invest in the team. The money we have received from other sales in the transfer window (and previously) primarily subsidises and mitigates Venkys' losses and inability (unwillingness) to invest. In my mind, the more money we bring in through player sales, the longer Venkys can drag out the destruction of Blackburn Rovers. If we have to get rid of Gueye for financial reasons then, on balance and outside of the window, I'd favour loaning him out and hoping he finds a semblance of form that enables him to contribute something more to our team on his return. Because we aren't likely to replace him with anything much better.
  7. Ive watched Gueye live enough times now to know hes truly awful. Its clear he'll never be any good at championship level. The only way I see him being effective is if the team was set up for him to minimise him having the ball at his feet. Direct style of play and Two wingers putting crosses in towards his head. Thats not gonna happen though. I'd rather sell for a fee and get cover in on loan. On another note, I know nothing about him but the Birmingham Facebook page had lots of comments about it was silly of them to let TGH leave and was generally positive comments about him. Well see.
  8. Elvis Costello - (The Angels Wanna Wear My)Red Shoes

  10. We didnโ€™t know it at the time but the investigation into the Venkys started prior to these players leaving.
  11. I think he has only been really good on one occasion. West Brom away. Has obvious physicality but hard to find a poorer finisher or a player lacking as much intelligence as shown by the amount of attacks breaking down when he fails to even try to time his run properly. I also think at times towards the end of last season in particular, he has appeared petulant rather than with a point to prove.
  12. I have high expectations from Gudjohnson. I believe he will be the next big money sale we do. Mixed about Gueye. Great character but still not convinced heโ€™s good enough for championship level. stillโ€ฆ. Rather slim on cover already. Any decent free strikers not named Bamford?
  13. Justifying the appointment of Jordan Rhodes?
  14. Heโ€™s not worked out how I wanted, when the balance of โ€˜heโ€™s been awful todayโ€™ to โ€˜actually maybe thereโ€™s something there when it clicksโ€™ was more like 70/30 I was thinking we had a real chance of getting the most out of him. Sadly that balance is now more like 90/10 (being kind), when heโ€™s good heโ€™s really good but it seems more and more a case of his physicality working rather than much more.
  15. Not connected to Gueye. But I really dont like this idea of giving game time to a 17 year old purely for the purpose of trying to convince him to sign a new deal. Its likely a futile gesture anyway, I suspect the odd start and some minutes off the bench would sway him from taking a big offer from a big club should it come up. But if that is the primary objective, then whats best for the team becomes of secondary importance. Its not even as if hes signed a deal and we know we are developing our own player. He has always played off the striker in his rare minutes too.
  16. The ball couldn't come back any quicker than it does with Ohashi upfront - which is the only merit we'd have in playing the equally slightly Tyjon as the 9.
  17. Fans: we are so short up top we have no depth no plan b unproven players fans: yes get rid of him makes no sense to me at allโ€ฆ.start gudjohnsen play tyjon more absolutely fine but letting him go leaves us incredibly short and is a huge huge gamble
  18. Apart from getting himself sent off I canโ€™t remember one thing he did.
  19. Today
  20. Agent gets commission for bringing him in then a bit more for loaning him out, then a bit more the next time he moves.
  21. He was poor but had a bid of bad luck as well. A rash challenge and a red card, and then injured for a while so never really got going. If he had put that header away I think fans would think differently about him.
  22. I keep reading comments on social media saying we shouldn't play Tyjon over Gueye because he isn't ready, and I understand that, however, i'd rather Tyjon come off the bench and earn experience and given a chance as well as potentially signing a new contract than playing Gueye, who isn't good enough, and then see Tyjon walk out the door. Ideally, we wouldn't be relying on a recently turned 17 year old or a league one level forward but that's the cards we have. I'd gamble on Tyjon because I don't think he'd give us any less than Gueye would playing V.I's system. Even at 17, he's a smarter player and we've seen in pre-season that he is able to time his runs and can hit the net.
  23. Who becomes our "Bradley Johnson / John Buckley False 9" when Ohashi and Gudjohnson get injured? Not sure I fancy rolling back to those comedy moments.
  24. It was hyperbolic but he is certainly nowhere near good enough for a Championship club. He came in with the advantage of replacing Gallagher who had stayed too long and become unpopular. It was assumed that we couldnt get worse, we managed it, but combined with his clearly infectious character, people werent and many still wont have it. The goals and assist thing is a good example of the above. He wasnt scoring goals so people used the goal and assist stat. So its including him missing open nets and the ball hitting his heel, or winning headers 30 yards out as the equivalent to a goal. Bringing him on late in theory can cause carnage but more often than not he just totally spoils any attacks standing offside or losing the ball. Starting games, our record was far worse last season when he started. I would have liked another striker but I would happily shift Gueye.
