  1. Past hour
  2. Just rewatched the game. Todd got MOTM and deservedly so, because he knits everything together like a puppet master. Some other players to praise with really good performances; Alebiosu. He is full of energy, pacey and better defensively than Brittain imo. Powerhouse going forward. Tavares needs a mention too. In one part of the game he sprinted left of the pitch to cover for hedges, 20-30 seconds later he is in the opposite corner trying to get a cross in. Tavares looks very neat and tidy and full of running. Considering the academy players. No doubt that Montgomerys preferred position is midfield. He has a bit about him, not afraid to get stuck in and played some neat passes together with Tronstad, Cantewell. McLoughlin is an amazing signing. Solid and steady. Cant say I miss Batth. Wharton however looked quite miserable on the bench, but I guess he wants to play.
  3. There has been a bit of a change of narrative with Batth and Weimann. It wasnt our choice to let them go. We tried to keep them but as with every other contract, it wasnt good enough. It may turn out for the best as they are getting on, indeed I wouldnt have offered Weimann a deal to begin with. But it wasnt our plan. And if they do struggle this season, it isnt to the clubs credit. They leeft big holes compared to last year regardless of how they do this season.
  4. I have a feeling that Forshaw is this seasons McFadzean. Would've probably played against Bradford if fit, but now Rovers are out of the cup it's unlikely we'll see him when he is ready unless there is a huge injury crisis in midfield.
  5. I actually quite like the business we have done so far. If we can get this deal over the line and at the minimum add a striker, whilst replacing anyone else we lose (Pears etc) with better players (key!) then we have done well. Batth and Wiemann are currently getting slated by Derby fans, so maybe we were right to not risk another year (or two). Beck appears to be injury prone. Travis will be a big loss but think a pairing of Sonny and someone else with a bit more creativity is better for our attack. Dolan at the end of the season was class but so, so inconsistent and frustrating before that. JRC, Buckley and Leonard all need / needed moving on in my view. Callum is the one I did not want to lose, and hope Alebiosu and Miller can fill that void. I really like the look of them and Tavares, McLoughlin looks like a bargain, Toth has stepped up, and for some reason I have a good feeling about Baradji and Axel. I wouldn’t have brought Forshaw back but can see the positives for the younger lads. I thought De Neve looked good when he came on towards the end of the Hull game but not convinced. Like I said, if we add a striker and Morishita, and replace Buckley, Pears with better, then I like the look of what we are doing.
  6. If we are after another midfielder someone like Alan Browne on loan could fit the bill. Sunderland happy to let him go, he's another in the Travis mould, bit of a shit houser and someone opposition fans hate. Not sure where all this leaves Forshaw tbh unless it's as cheerleader in the dressing room
  7. His accuracy has been off a few times. He said we wanted Gassama about 2 days before he went to Rangers. Also said that Pye was our alternative to Kapuadi. Not convinced we were serious about Miyoshi either.
  8. Correct 🙂 But also that we're chasing a CM to replace Bucko/Trav and a striker could come in as well. I'm guessing we're searching for CB's too, and if there's a suitable option available, then Hyam leaves this window.
  9. Elliot saying we want another midfielder after Morishita. Says not ruled out another striker but nowhere near a certainty. Think Nixon was well off with Afolayan.
  10. I'm assuming the other two deals are outgoings of Travis and Buckley. Bit of a misleading headline 😂
  11. How would I know? Did I hear £5M somewhere?
  12. MORISHITA signs for Rovers! Handshakes all round as Motishita makes the move to Shamrock Rovers 🤣
  13. I dont get the suggestion that a midfielder is a priority whereas a striker is just a bonus. We need another striker far more than a midfielder, although I think we need both. If Pears goes, we need another keeper.
  14. EJ latest: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25414459.blackburn-rovers-transfer-latest-three-deals-close/
  15. My understanding is that Morishita played on the wing last season. Scored 14 goals last year and is meant to be rapid. So that should be the pacey winger locked down. EJ has just confirmed that we are looking at another midfielder and hopefully a striker. If we get all 3, and sell Buckley, Pears and Travis (sadly) for good fees then that would conclude a suprisingly very strong window under the circumstances (self inflicted).
  16. Too good to be true? 28 year-old Japanese player with three caps for his country and plying his trade in Poland.
  17. Don't count your chickens, Gestede did work experience with Waggot. We've still got the 'offer them less in person once they've flown to Manchester' tactic to pull yet
  18. Forgive my ignorance, but we've got full backs coming out of ears. 2m plus on a 28 year old for a position we are well stocked seems extravagant? Or is in intent for him to play further forward? We are crying out for a striker and pacey winger..
  19. I really like him but he is way down the pecking order now with Hyam, McLoughlin, Carter, Wharton and Miller ahead of him. He played against Everton under 21's last Monday but was nowhere to be seen on Friday. Perhaps a loan deal might be in the offing for him.
  20. Can see it now, "Morishita signs for Bristol Rovers"
  21. Today
  22. Is this an insert your own final word competition ? 🤣
  23. You can only be sure it's done when he runs out on the pitch in a Rovers shirt AFTER the end of the transfer window.
  24. If Morishita does come then they've done quite well
