  1. Past hour
  2. He seems to be saying "I'd like them to stay but we're going to lose them because of the contract situation". Shrug of the shoulders, "Nothing to do with me Guv, blame it on the previous administration." I find him completely uninspiring myself. Only here to pick up his pay cheque. Not a scrap of ambition about him.
  3. Yes I was just starting to worry but Woakes has fixed me. Great display from Captain Stokes, what a warrior he is. Very long spell at his age and given his injury history. Always leads by example. Assuming we win next two tests will be seismic.
  4. We were on the 'Accy' side of the centre circle. I noticed Carter pull up, then a few moments later he was feeling the back of his thigh so I thought 'hamstring' straight away. My daughter said the same. Hopefully just a twinge though. We also noticed the horses near the away entrance. Perhaps there for traffic control, I dunno, but their presence looked a bit odd considering the low key occasion.
  5. Don't tempt fate 47er, this is England playing and we're experts at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory Edit: Woakes strikes just before lunch, eight down
  6. Wow! 112 for 8. Surely we will win now!
  7. Tough one! πŸ€”
  8. A timely break through. Eight down and lunch.
  9. He was brilliant last season. A huge outlet going forward and improved loads defensively. Lets not underplay his ability just because hes going. Not to be replaced by a kid who has had injury problems and has barely played.
  10. It seems quite clear that we're no longer prepared to pay the going rate for established Championship players either in terms of transfer fees or wages. It really is as simple as that and is only going to go one way. I've no idea how anyone can call any of the players greedy or expect any of the slightly better ones to extend their stays here under those circumstances.
  11. I don't know about anyone else but I don't see losing Brittain as a big deal. Id say hes average at best. Apart from crossing a football hes not exactly been outstanding. Anything between 3-5 mill would be good business I think. Hes not blessed with pace and hes not exactly the best defender. I've watched many occasions him get his pants pulled down. Id love to see duru stay fit and get a go, loads of pace, and whenever he did play he did ok, I know it wasn't many mins for us but theres a player there. Id also say there are other positions that are worse to lose.
  12. 'We've got a little fat guy who'll turn him inside out'. Classic Cloughie quote in reference to Robertson.
  13. With 2 years left on his deal? Thats a long time to be on peanuts unless the deal he was offered was not much more. Your figures are obviously totally hypothetical but do you think any other wide player in the division who plays every week is on Β£6k? I suspect very few if any.
  14. Yes. Overpromotion, arrogance......and our old friend, mendacity. He is a whopper!
  15. Have we moved on? We are all still talking about it. And the club still has a massive hole in the position where he played. Yes, I am sure he, like Brittain, Tronstad, Travis all are just being individually unrealistically greedy.
  16. Travis said to the fans on Saturday he was still waiting on a contract offer. Which one is telling porkies - Travis or VI?
  17. Question for anyone that doesn't rate Dolan, or rates him as an average Championship player - if he was on a 3 year deal with, lets say, Norwich, how much do you think it would take to buy him?
  18. Ismael paving the way for Travis and Tronstad to leave. His demeanour in the BBC Lancashire clip seemed frosty but hard to tell if hes already getting pissed off as he seems to just be like that all the time. People will jump to the defence of the club by saying we moan when we let players run their contracts down and moan when we sell. To me, the issue wouldnt be selling them. Its again, how has it got to this? Why werent contracts offered earlier? Why do so many people want to go elsewhere?
  19. That's what I mean I bet their basic ayof thinking led them to us.
  20. Ok, if you want to be pedantic, I don't believe he was ever made a REALISTIC offer of a new contract back then otherwise he would undoubtedly have signed it. Just like I don't believe he's been made an offer which reflects anything like his true worth now. Although of course now, he'll have a lot more options having been allowed to run his contract down and can afford to be a bit more choosy.
  21. Enshitification..... Best word yet to describe what has happened to the 4 major team sports in the US, as well as the 4 slams in tennis, golf's 4 majors & a slew of legacy Olympic events. The list is fucking endless & don't think they won't try to do it with proper football as well.
  22. More than likely they're getting both.
  23. But you said he wasn’t offered one and you don’t believe Broughton
