Think they'll be taking Tyjon off shortly, he looks injured.
-
I do wonder how Mullarkey-Matthews found himself anywhere near the first team squad in pre season, even given our lack of wide players at the time, Doherty (who is currently on the bench has much more about him) Purely because he is a big lad for a wide player and quite physical?
-
Hopefully Joseph gets off the bench to play that role alongside him in the 2nd half
-
He's not a 9. Or at least not without a big strong partner to look after him and win the long balls for him.
-
He easily ran in behind getting on the end of a long ball before. Didn't know what to do with the ball though and tamely passed it back to the GK.
-
I'm not one for being harsh on players, particular young lads, but I'm beginning to wonder what the hype is about Tyjon. Really haven't seen anything yet that makes me think "wow" . Probably go on to get a hat trick now , but have to say I think he's a long way off first team football. A loan may do him good. Like young Funny, got a nice left foot but you do worry about him physically as well, needs to bulk up a bit.
-
Well aware of the point you made, the point I made in response to it suggested it may be the role he was being asked to play He did pick up a couple of injuries on his loan last season, so possible that has impacted himt. But until he is forced into chasing the ball or a man at full pelt, we won't know for sure either way.
-
The point I was making is that Battys major asset was his speed, has his speed gone or are we just not using it ?
-
It is possible he is being asked to play the Ribeiro role, The formation & player roles look to be mirroring the first team, with the right back pushing forward more
-
Batty doesn't look interested in the game. He used to have a hell of a turn of speed, but isn't showing anything.

The assist for Rovers equaliser was glorious, finish not bad either

Said it myself and I think most at times have said it's time to 'cut the hedges'.... (enter tumbleweed / exit tumbleweed) But he has proven himself of late and deserves a spot. -
Looks to be a strong selection.

My view is play both Gudjonsen and Ohashi. With Alebiouso overlapping all day Ohashi can do that role on the right which will utilise his ceaseless pressing off the ball and he will get in the box when we're on the front foot. Think it will suit him more actually than being the lone man up front. Means you have Gueye as the change striker but Im okay with that. -
I'm happy enough to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by some of the early performances. First impressions can obviously be misleading (in both directions, as anyone seeing Andre Ooijer's debut would testify!). But Alebiosu has impressed me more than a lad with his pedigree had any right too. Gudjohnsen and Morishita appear to have something about them. McLoughlin looks better than you'd expect for Hull City's fourth choice centre back, and even Tavares has had his moments which suggests he could have a pretty high ceiling. But stronger than last year? I seriously doubt it, and we can only really say one way or another when we see the sorts of performances they're capable of in February after they've had some exposure to a Championship winter and regular three game weeks.

I’m not Hedges biggest fan but I think lately he’s earned his place out on the left hand side. I really like Ohashi, I think he’s the best pure finisher at the club, but from all accounts Gudjonnsen looked to be more of an attack leader. I’d rather we didn’t have to bring him on to get us back in the game. I’d start him. However if we don’t and we start with Ohashi, that’s fair enough. -

I just cant see the sense in dropping real performers like Hedges or Ohashi and keeping Tavares on the pitch. Sends completely the wrong message.... You've got to reward the best performers with starts.
