  1. Past hour
  2. I, for one, am not particularly sorry to see Travis go, nor indeed almost the entire “leadership” group of players, none of whom struck me as leaders. 9 goals in 250 games is chronic for a central midfielder who allegedly has box-to-box tendencies - Super Atko got 34 in an almost identical number of games and at a higher level - and I tired of his pound shop Savage antics years ago. The fact is that all these senior players effing off were part of one or more of our annual collapses, used to falling short. A bit like a couple of other posters, I’m intrigued to see a new style under a manager who is growing on me by the day.
  3. Trav's statement was "read with feeling"?
  4. Like Lord Sauron, he's always watching.
  5. Match report from U18 7-0 win
  6. I will hold my hands up. I was not expecting the farewell message from Trav and it made me sad. He was my favorite player. I think the contract situation is quite clear. He can earn more money elsewhere. He loved playing under Eustace who brought out the best in him. understandable by both parties. Part of the game.
  7. Well, it is a deliberately, sarcastic use of Gestede's word, which is heavy with the implication "my way or the highway"
  8. A lot of people seem to be getting carried away , cos we won a game against poor opposition . Let us see , how many more we win before the next window opens !
  9. Well, it is a deliberately, sarcastic use of Gestede's word, which is heavy with the implication "my way or the highway"
  10. Alternatively it's going for proven Championship experience over gambling on cheap European punts to come good
  11. Success would be a consistent season without long losing streaks, averaging a minimum of 1.3 points per game and new players cementing themselves at Championship level. Whether it's 14th or 7th is pretty irrelevant.
  12. Plus we haven't beat Norwich at Ewood since our Premier League days. Seem to be a bogey side at home for us, but funnily enough we seem to have done ok at there place in the venkys era.
  13. I wonder if Eustace even considered going for other players rather than just picking them up from us. I appreciate the ‘he knows them’ point but it just smacks of laziness to me.
  14. A lot of pressure on Baradji actually being decent. I'd start Trav over Taveres any day, so big shoes for the new guy to fill. (if he's even fit to play)
  15. For the nearly whole game recently, the scoreboard had Wharton playing...I certainly didn't see him...
  16. Agreed, normally when there is a bit of positivity around here, we do indeed come crashing back to earth. 1-2 Norwich.
  17. A whole bunch of metaphors leap to mind. VI has his plan. The board have backed him totally. Virtually the whole team have been replaced. So: - No more "square peg round hole" excuses like JDTs possession style and players who couldn't play that way. - He's got his players so "all the wood is behind the arrowhead", he's defo going for it - the board are going to "sink or swim" by this decision (taking us with them) - VI has "no hiding place" now and with this level of bravado risks being "hoist with one’s own petard” You've got to admire this "Billy Big Bollocks" show, or does it "all end in tears". I'll stop, it's really not that funny. We're walking a tightrope without a net (damn it!).
  18. And I will take the blame for that...I just wanted to use the Travis album cover...! I'd been working on a (now redundant) tee shirt design for our store & wanted to use it somewhere... 😆
  19. Run a book on how many players left on the pitch? How many minutes on the clock before Trav gets a yellow?
  20. The article does seem to appear reasonably balanced -it's the headline that beautifully shifts the blame to the player without being aggressive.
  21. It is the Venkys who ought to be going . Nothing changes , cheaper options all the time as been since Sam was replaced by Kean ! When the Indians purchased the club , we were a top ten Premier League club , look at us now . Venkys Out is all that matters !
  22. I'm not setting expectations at anything (RG does that I think-he suggested promotion is not of interest to him). I'm suggesting that in difficult circumstances JE got the team to 7th. Given that those difficult circumstances seem to have gone ie. everybody is working to the same plan (not getting fined by Rev), optimism is high, we have younger, speedier, more athletic giants, then you would expect to equal or improve on 7th.
  23. More Rovers appearances in the Derby squad than in our first choice XI
