  2. Mr Aloof dismisses signing a free agent out straight away. Hyam was sold on the last day of the window giving us no time to buy a replacement (I'm not saying we would have spent btw) so the only option was a free agent. We all knew Wharton and Carter are so susceptible to injury and yet he still wouldn't consider it, 'no way' he said. His argument about getting up to speed is nonsense in my view. Signing someone in early September would have seen them fit by the end of that month, a month when the number games we played really began to take their toll. His arrogance is going to be one of his undoings and is likely to cost us dearly.
  3. I glanced around at the Etonians game, the age group was a mature crowd , weary looking like they had seen it all and looked fed up. Hoping something will change soon because we're on the verge of being diluted for good
  4. Generally, Alebiosu apart - what a lot of dross we've signed over summer. Baradji - never been seen. Tavares - (£2m) barely been seen. Forshaw- meh- why? Henriksson - a walking yellow card, looks well out of his depth. TGH - not the worst of the bunch by any stretch but ordinary nevertheless. Moreshita - (£2m) Flatters to deceive. Gudjohnsen (£2m plus) Completely anonymous. Not sure he's any better than Leonard Miller - Can't defend.

  6. I was so genuinely bemused by the Hedges love in I decided to watch the match back to see how he performed. As I thought in real time he didnt do anything noteworthy other than the fact he was largely responsible for the second goal by venturing forward and giving the ball away deep inside the Derby half which was then recycled and as a result we were short of cover down his side when the cross came in. Apart from that he went through the back of someone on 60 mins and was slightly fortunate not to earn a yellow card and very fortunate not to give away a free kick right on the corner of our area on 73 mins which if adjudged a foul would have been desperately close to being inside the area. Generally we looked extremely vulnerable any time Derby put a cross in. We have major problems if our idiot manager continues using Hedges there. Whilst I think he's rubbish I'm not going to blame him for playing poorly completely out of position, Ismael shouldn't be putting him in that situation.
  7. Wasn't being sarcy, on watching the replay it was a pen but I've seen those not given. It was soft in the sense that up to that point we hadn't had an effort on target, Ohashi was going nowhere and Sanderson didnt need to make the challenge.
  8. That last point is the one that worries me. Would be interesting to know the age profile of the people who are leading any continued protests. The danger with the slow, and apparently, managed decline of the club is that the fan base is like the proverbial 'frog in water being heated up'. For any new fans the current situation is normalised. I remember clubs like York and Hereford playing in the old 2nd Division - how many of their current fanbase think that's where they belong or can realistically get back to. If Venky's stay in ownership for another 15 years then we risk going the same way, despite the fact our history is far more glorious than those clubs.
  9. I thought it was soft too, or you being sarcy? Not near as soft as the one Citeh got today.
  10. I thought maybe it was me seeing it but yes a lot of that cheap stuff was let go, for them.

  12. Yesterday
  13. The ref didn't lose us the game. But if you think there hasn't been anything whatsoever wrong with the vast majority of refs we have had this season, I'm flabbergasted.
  14. I'm not convinced that Toth just sits on his line for that one as it comes into the box.
  15. The owners were the ones taking us down.
  16. Theyve signed big money signings that need to work out, and in Isak and Wirtz, they are top players, hardly gambles who had scored loads in a lesser league or anything like that. The team you would think sooner rather than later needs to be built around them. It feels with the latter like they are trying to squeeze him in to a similar iteration of their previous template for a team. Theyve for a while been 433, had a hard working, selfless and energetic midfield and central striker with the 2 wide men providing the goal threat, which was pretty much all Salah once Mane left. As a result, he was excused from defending. Last season they pretty much played the same team every week, getting fortunate with injuries. To fully charge forward with a reset, I do wonder if Salah's role needs to reduce, hard while he is at the club, and/or they need a new manager to see it as a total change. They cant give Salah a responsibility free role on the right and give Wirtz time in his best position, I dont think. Leaves them too open.
  17. What’s going on with cantwell btw? He’s not played since stoke (think a bruised ankle) how you can miss 6 weeks with a bruised ankle? Seems quite strange
  18. He’ll likely be in the championship in January if they can recall him he’s tearing it up
  19. Slot won't be sack at this stage. But I do question why they need 2 big money striker signings or why they didn't replace Luiz Daiz. Or why they left Guehi's bid to the late minute
  20. There were warning signs last season with Salah, but he still scored 29 goals and had 18 assists (PL only, a few more in other comps) so you can understand the logic in giving him an extension. Players in their early 30s can decline pretty fast, though, so always a bit of a risk.
  21. It was straight at him he didn't even jump he crumpled down
  22. You make it sound like it was all his fault. JDT for all his pleasing attributes definitely WAS taking us down. Eustace managed to stop the rot and kept us up.
  23. Two keepers would have been struggling to get anywhere near that.
  24. Derby did nothing whatsoever wrong yesterday nor has there been anything whatsoever wrong with the vast majority of referees we've had this season. Im now convinced Exiled is on quite a clever wind up, moaning about the referee and our bad luck the minute we walk on the pitch every week and seeing who bites. He had me fooled for ages.
  25. Salah has lost his edge of pace - and IMO is the one player that needs to be dropped at the moment. It is amazing how much they miss Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diaz. But at the moment teams have figured how to play against Liverpool - as they seem unable to play past a high press - and after passing it around the defence mostly end up playing long ball.. For all the money they spent - losing out on Guehi is really hurting them.
  26. Why is it lazy analysis? You can be as tricky, exciting, or fast as you want as a winger but at the end of the day unless you're either creating chances for others or scoring them yourself it's all for nowt. Incidentally I thought Grealish turned into an absolute parody of himself at Citeh. Everytime anyone gave him the ball he just gave it straight back. Anyone could do that and take zero risk. Pep got most of the flak for that for instructing him to play in a certain way but even he must have got sick of him eventually as he initially left him out then moved him out of the Club.
