mac Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 It's me I applied yesterday, they must have been impressed with my 5 year plan
thenodrog Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 No, somebody who has emerged late in the race and is a top young manager.... Billy Smart? Billy Smart Junior?
deryck guyler's spoon Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Gary McAllister... you're not going to say anything more on this issue though, but this is my hunch. I hope not. He seems like a nice guy. A combination of obnoxious and incompetent is what I would like a future incumbant of "t'Turd" hotseat to be an exponent of.
CAPT KAYOS Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Burnley will not appoint a new boss until after the weekend. Draw your own conclusions. And I still say it is better to play and beat a rival than just talk about them. It kind of settles the argument. Which suggests that it is somebody already employed at the moment if everybody has forgotten As for the rivalry , agree Nicko , I'm another that has stood on the Longside a few times - but it still doesn't settle the argument If it happens - bring it on
nicko Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Andy Taylor is going out on loan to Tranmere Rovers for a month, good home for him. Too many left-footed players even for the reserves right now.
trs Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 That Brendan flood chappie has just been on t' wireless saying they are still talking to Sheff weds concerning Brian Laws. (smokescreen or what Nicko?) They hope to appoint their next boss next week.

modes98 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Just hope it's Grayson, that £100 would come in very handy! Seems alot of cash for wigan to throw away on steve bruce and not get black as well.

Seems alot of cash for wigan to throw away on steve bruce and not get black as well. Birmingham City may run with Black as their manager just now, so it would be an extra fee for him. Black does most of the work there by all accounts, but whether he is a manager remains to be seen. He has experience and is a decent sort. If he wants it he might get it. But you never know what is happening next with that Birmingham board...

Agree on the Steve Bruce thing, always thought he was vastly overrated and constantly looks as though he struggles big time with the pressure of the job.
Claytons Left Boot Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Henning Berg ? Nothing in the Norwegian press, or on Lyn's website to indicate a move by Henning is underfoot.
nicko Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Nothing in the Norwegian press, or on Lyn's website to indicate a move by Henning is underfoot. There wouldn't be. It's not him.
Oakland Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 By the way, Robbie Savage is hoping to make it back for the Fulham game. You can't knock his attitude. He is over the cartilage op and training, so it is possible. With Dunny banned and Reidy absent it could be timely to have him back. This is very good news!
USRoverME Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Lets see, young (for a manager), currently employed - but free over the weekend, not linked anywhere until just after tis confirmed..... nicko the closet Rovers fan is biased, he has an international flair and creativity.... follow that with a story about a Rovers Midfielder returning from injury.... I got it.... Tugay is moving to be player-manager!

iamarover Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 A true derby is when both sets of fans equally reciprocate their antipathy for each other in equal measure: e.g. Celtic v Rangers; Arsenal v Spurs; Notts Forest v Derby County. It dosn't necessarily equate to the lowest geographical common denominator (e.g. Man U's rivalry with City is superseded by their antipathy toward Liverpool & vice versa Liverpool toward Everton). Some sad clubs are left floundering in the quest for a true rival (Leicester City; Middlesboro & Bolton). In that respect we should comfort ourselves that once our erstwhile & transient divisional rivalries have run their course (e.g. Sheff Wed (circa 1980-82), Man City (Circa 1986-1989); Man U (1992-1996), we will always have our dark 'alter-ego' lurking in some deep, dark forgotten valley east of the Pennines. 'Ave it... Aye Aye. Mick.... who do you think will be the new manager of the DingleDome? My hunch is Phelan at United emerging from the Ferguson shadows a la Brian Kidd to do a full scale John Bond on 'em. But ... predict Flood will sink a few million in January to give em a fighting chance. Could be McLeish tempted by a huge budget but suspect hed more likely be Birmingham bound.
