nicko Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Newcastle are talking to Smith - and the Brazilian centre half Cacapa, freed by Lyon. Big Sam tried for Faye, but only offered £500,000. Bolton thought he would sign a new contract with them yesterday...but the big chap has not put pen to paper yet. So watch that space. Dragutinovic was fancied by Sven - and possibly still is - but you will find Newcastle are looking to buy a really good left back. Makes me wonder who else they are selling. Dyer is going to pay for Smith and I don't think there is much else unless another one goes. BTW Man City's signings are astonishing. And by all accounts they stank the place out at Shrewsbury last night.
nicko Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Yes, but what if some people are of the view that Nicko is not who he says he is.....? I'm starting to wonder myself...
gazsimm Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 did they mention the other 3 though, baz ? how many times ??? "I DO NOT WORK FOR A NEWSPAPER (at the moment)" at the moment, does that mean you are considering joining nicko then pleasure. You will never be as good as the mighty Nicko
Bazzanotsogreat Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Yes, but what if some people are of the view that Nicko is not who he says he is.....? I'm starting to wonder myself... I for one am grateful for your input on the boards, everything you have said has turned out to be correct so far. I think what annoys people (nothing to do with yourself) is people that constantly keep an asking the same questions over & over again and some members that are compelled to make up rumours themselves to either equal yourself or add gravitas BTW Keep up good work Nicko- your contributions make this board a much more interesting place
pleasure Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Nicko mentioned Faye before Sky , but they also reported on the defender from seville & Faye well over a week ago i meant on sky yesterday, baz! stop playing silly buggers! at the moment, does that mean you are considering joining nicko then pleasure. You will never be as good as the mighty Nicko i'm in tears, gaz. dont think i'll ever recover from this !
Ozz Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Mr Pleasure, done you a favour and hosted your Gayle image. You know what to do now, yea?
nicko Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Alan Smith has turned down Middlesbrough. So you wont have to face his goal threat in the first game. May have to raid mrs nicko's purse to back you on the opening day.

We have a long history of failure where success would have been easier to achieve.

HAHAHAHAHA, Alan Smiths goal threat... good one. Yes, but what if some people are of the view that Nicko is not who he says he is.....? and what is that? an agent of evil? all i know is he is giving us information before its made public I really dont understand what people think his ulterior motives are Whoooooosh.....
nicko Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Also heard there will be no Boro panic buy or loan signings to make up for the losses at the back. Sorry, but that is worth a punt.
pleasure Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 brilliant! cheers, ozzie. been meaning to update for a few days, too busy. should get it sorted soon enough.

The more the odds are in our favour the more likely it is we will cock it up. It's a Rovers thing, something of a tradition.
herbergeehh Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Well, it was 2.95 on Blackburn to win and 2.35 on Middlesbrough on Nordicbet. Put us down for fifteen pounds myself, I'm sure we will lose though, it's the first game of the season after all - and we're supposed to beat them since they have all those injuries......... I regret now.

tcj_jones Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Owen, Martins, Viduka and Smith would be a very good front line. Nobody with exceptional quality, but four players with a lot to prove and with undoubted quality. But typical of Newcastle, their bakcline will let them down big time.

Forget history, the odds are totally in your favour for the first game. If you take on that defence and dominate them you will win the game.
pleasure Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 nicko, another one to chase, dont know if it's being reported, yet...... i understand burnley and leeds are hammering out a deal for ex rover, -jon douglas. quite a coup..... for them.

Sorry, Nicko , the Rovers will take on the defence, dominate them, hit the bar three times, the posts four times, have their keeper play a blinder, the ref miss an over the line goal, and we'll still not get the points. We are talking about Blackburn Rovers aren't we?
herbergeehh Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 It was iffy already but you had to go ahead and bet on us didn't you? Now you've jinxed us for sure. Go Boro!
Cocker Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Sorry, Nicko , the Rovers will take on the defence, dominate them, hit the bar three times, the posts four times, have their keeper play a blinder, the ref miss an over the line goal, and we'll still not get the points. We are talking about Blackburn Rovers aren't we? God your going back arnt you. It was after the 90-91 season that we started getting players sent off on a regular basis too. Also not forgetting that we MUST have at least 4 long term injuries a season now. And you call yourself a fan
nicko Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 The Douglas story was in a paper somewhere...he never lived up to his promise. Interesting to see the Rovers side tomorrow. Roque has to start, but my money would still be on McCarthy-Roberts being the pairing that plays at Boro. And Tugay's position could be under a bit of threat for that game too. Still shocked he didn't making the first XI v Vetra.

nicko Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 The FA list do NOT have Jason Roberts down for a ban. He was sent off at Tottenham for two bookings - or at least that was the ref's opinion. He missed the Reading game but that should be that. Incidentally Fabio Rochemback is banned for Middlesbrough. What price for an away win again?
